  • Following, we highlight a crucial range of research gaps and open challenges that need to be addressed before cooperative autonomous vehicles hit the roads. We believe that this survey will assist the researchers in better understanding vehicular cooperation, its various scenarios, solution approaches, and challenges.Enzymes play a fundamental role in many biological processes. We present a theoretical approach to investigate the catalytic power of the haloalkane dehalogenase reaction with 1,2-dichloroethane. By removing the three main active-site residues one by one from haloalkane dehalogenase, we found two reactive descriptors one descriptor is the distance difference between the breaking bond and the forming bond, and the other is the charge difference between the transition state and the reactant complex. Both descriptors scale linearly with the reactive barriers, with the three-residue case having the smallest barrier and the zero-residue case having the largest. The results demonstrate that, as the number of residues increases, the catalytic power increases. The predicted free energy barriers using the two descriptors of this reaction in water are 23.1 and 24.2 kcal/mol, both larger than the ones with any residues, indicating that the water solvent hinders the reactivity. Both predicted barrier heights agree well with the calculated one at 25.2 kcal/mol using a quantum mechanics and molecular dynamics approach, and also agree well with the experimental result at 26.0 kcal/mol. This study shows that reactive descriptors can also be used to describe and predict the catalytic performance for enzyme catalysis.The high mortality rate in septic shock patients is likely due to environmental and genetic factors, which influence the host response to infection. Two genome-wide association studies (GWAS) on 832 septic shock patients were performed. We used integrative bioinformatic approaches to annotate and prioritize the sepsis-associated single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). An association of 139 SNPs with death based on a false discovery rate of 5% was detected. The most significant SNPs were within the CISH gene involved in cytokine regulation. Among the 139 SNPs associated with death and the 1311 SNPs in strong linkage disequilibrium with them, we investigated 1439 SNPs within non-coding regions to identify regulatory variants. Both in vitro and in vivo experiments have shown that PDEVs can exhibit a multitude of effects, suggesting that these vesicles may have many potential future applications, including therapeutics and nano-delivery of compounds. While the preliminary results are promising, there are still some challenges to face, such as a lack of protocol standardization, as well as knowledge gaps that need to be filled. This review aims to discuss various aspects of PDEV knowledge, including their preliminary findings, challenges, and future uses, giving insight into the complexity of conducting research in this field.For ORT to have a maximum impact on public health it should be used in the community, in the home. A number of programs have been developed over the years to extend ORT to home use. One of the most successful approaches was the Oral Therapy Education Program (OTEP) developed by BRAC, the world's largest NGO. Mothers were taught in the home by an OTEP worker using seven simple messages and a demonstration. The program, which led to high levels of use and knowledge retention, is described. What the OTEP and other successful home-based programs have demonstrated is that home care of diarrhea using ORS can be effectively implemented and can have a positive impact on the reduction of diarrhea morbidity and mortality.Essential oils (EOs) were extracted from Eugenia patrisii, E. punicifolia, and Myrcia tomentosa, specimens A and B, using hydrodistillation. Gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (GC/MS) was used to identify the volatile constituents present, and the antioxidant capacity of EOs was determined using diphenylpicryl-hydrazyl (DPPH) and trolox equivalent antioxidant capacity (TEAC) assays. For E. patrisii, germacrene D (20.03%), bicyclogermacrene (11.82%), and (E)-caryophyllene (11.04%) were identified as the major constituents of the EOs extracted from specimen A, whereas specimen B primarily comprised γ-elemene (25.89%), germacrene B (8.11%), and (E)-caryophyllene (10.76%). The EOs of E. punicifolia specimen A contained β-Elemene (25.12%), (E)-caryophyllene (13.11%), and bicyclogermacrene (9.88%), while specimen B was composed of (E)-caryophyllene (11.47%), bicyclogermacrene (5.86%), β-pinene (5.86%), and γ-muurolene (5.55%). The specimen A of M. tomentosa was characterized by γ-elemene (12.52%), germacrene D (11.45%), and (E)-caryophyllene (10.22%), while specimen B contained spathulenol (40.70%), α-zingiberene (9.58%), and γ-elemene (6.89%). Additionally, the chemical composition of the EOs was qualitatively and quantitatively affected by the collection period. Furthermore, the EOs of the studied specimens, especially specimen A of E. punicifolia, showed a greater antioxidant activity in DPPH rather than TEAC, as represented by a significantly high inhibition percentage (408.0%).

  • We describe a 71-year-old patient with inclusion body myositis (IBM), characterized by progressive atrophy and weakness in his left upper extremity. This patient underwent extensor carpi radialis longus to flexor pollicis longus and brachioradialis to flexor digitorum profundus tendon transfers in the left upper extremity to reduce IBM-related functional deficits. He had noticeable improvements in finger flexion after the transfers, which have been sustained for 2 years after the procedure.

    This case reinforces that this novel tendon transfer may be an effective treatment option to improve hand function and activities of daily living in patients with IBM.

    We describe the case of a 38-year-old woman, a yoga instructor, who had pain in the right shoulder and scapular region of 4 months' duration while performing yoga. Radiography and computed tomography diagnosed delayed union of a first rib stress fracture. The delayed union of stress fracture of the first rib was successfully treated with the limiting of yoga activity and low-intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS).

    Physicians should be aware that even yoga posing can cause stress fractures of the first rib. LIPUS therapy may be effective for delayed union in addition to rest.

    A 22-year-old skeletally mature man with scoliosis accompanied by syringomyelia associated with Chiari malformation type 1 was presented to our hospital. Because the maximal syrinx/cord ratio was small, and he had no neurological deficit, he underwent corrective surgery without the treatment of the syringomyelia.

    The scoliosis was corrected without any neurological complications. Magnetic resonance imaging taken 8 days after the surgery showed the reduction of the size of the syringomyelia. The syringomyelia almost disappeared at the 8-year follow-up.

    A 29-year-old right-hand dominant woman with thrombocytopenia-absent radii syndrome was surgically treated for a right olecranon fracture. Given her forearm deformity and short lever arm, a custom-modified corrective elbow flexion splint was used during rehabilitation. Radiographic union was achieved. Although functional outcome scores were similar to the ones previously reported in the general population, the patient had persistent extension contracture.

    We report a case of irreducible chronic volar dislocation of the distal radioulnar joint (DRUJ) after surgery for distal radius fracture. The patient underwent volar locking plate fixation for distal radius fracture. Despite the satisfactory alignment of the distal radius, irreducible volar dislocation of the DRUJ was discovered at 5 weeks after the initial surgery. DRUJ reconstruction at 9 weeks after injury using the Adams-Berger procedure resulted in a stable and functional DRUJ and wrist.

We evaluated single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in genes that contribute to efavirenz pharmacokinetics and examined them in association with EFV concentrations in plasma and hair, as well as neurocognitive performance.

  • Maternal obesity has been linked to the development of cardiovascular disease and diabetes in offspring, but its relationship to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is unclear.

    Through the nationwide ESPRESSO cohort study we identified all individuals ≤25 years of age in Sweden with biopsy-verified NAFLD diagnosed between 1992 and 2016 (n= 165). These were matched by age, sex, and calendar year with up to 5 controls (n= 717). Through linkage with the nationwide Swedish Medical Birth Register (MBR) we retrieved data on maternal early-pregnancy BMI, and possible confounders, in order to calculate adjusted odds ratios (aORs) for NAFLD in offspring.

    Maternal BMI was associated with NAFLD in offspring underweight (aOR 0.84; 95% CI 0.14-5.15), normal weight (reference, aOR 1), overweight (aOR 1.51; 0.95-2.40), and obese (aOR 3.26; 1.72-6.19) women. Severe NAFLD (biopsy-proven fibrosis or cirrhosis) was also more common in offspring of overweight (aOR 1.94; 95% CI 0.96-3.90) and obese (aOR 3.67; 95% CI 1 of fatty liver in their offspring.

    Inflammation is a serious global concern due to its debilitating symptoms, resulting in considerable suffering and lost productivity. Chronic and auto-immune inflammatory diseases are of particular concern. Several pharmaceutical therapies are already available. However, the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID's) is accompanied by harmful and toxic side effects. Hence, the search for safer alternative therapeutics with limited side effects is imperative. The use of medicinal plants is common practice amongst the southern African population and may provide targets for drug development.

Using zebrafish full-grown (FG) ovarian follicles in vitro, our study shows that blocking steroid biosynthesis with anti-steroidal drugs, DL-aminoglutethimide (AG) or Trilostane (Trilo), prevents hCG (LH analogue)-induced StAR expression concomitant with a robust increase in intrafollicular ROS levels. Congruent with heightened intracellular levels of superoxide anions (O2•-) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), priming with AG or Trilo abrogates the transcript abundance of major antioxidant enzyme genes (SOD1, SOD2, and CAT) in hCG-stimulated follicles.     Maternal obesity has been linked to the development of cardiovascular disease and diabetes in offspring, but its relationship to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is unclear. Through the nationwide ESPRESSO cohort study we identified all individuals ≤25 years of age in Sweden with biopsy-verified NAFLD diagnosed between 1992 and 2016 (n= 165). These were matched by age, sex, and calendar year with up to 5 controls (n= 717). Through linkage with the nationwide Swedish Medical Birth Register (MBR) we retrieved data on maternal early-pregnancy BMI, and possible confounders, in order to calculate adjusted odds ratios (aORs) for NAFLD in offspring. Maternal BMI was associated with NAFLD in offspring underweight (aOR 0.84; 95% CI 0.14-5.15), normal weight (reference, aOR 1), overweight (aOR 1.51; 0.95-2.40), and obese (aOR 3.26; 1.72-6.19) women.     This study aims to identify key factors related to psychological distress resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic across highly vulnerable districts in Guatemala.

    The Covid Care Calls (CCC) survey was administered to households in 11 districts in Guatemala to gather information about medical, mental health, and psychosocial status during the lockdown period; provide referral for care; and disseminate information on evidence-based protective measures to stem the spread of the virus. The 330 individuals participated the survey. Conventional content analysis was used to analyze survey data.

    Most commonly reported mental health issues since the start of the pandemic were anxiety (46%), stress (36%), and exacerbation of pre-Covid-19 mental health conditions (19%). Depression and burnout were equally reported by 12% of participants. Only 2% reported issues with safety in the home. Concerns about catching the virus and economic worries were the most commonly reported sources of psychological distress.

    Results of this study indicate a high prevalence of anxiety, stress, and increased prior mental health symptoms resulting from the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic in low-income, high-risk communities across Guatemala. Efforts focused on enhancing coping strategies as well as psychoeducation to address stigma and increase help-seeking for depression are particularly important.

Here, we present SHAPE-JuMP (selective 2'-hydroxyl acylation analyzed by primer extension and juxtaposed merged pairs) to interrogate through-space RNA tertiary interactions. A bifunctional small molecule is used to chemically link proximal nucleotides in an RNA structure. The RNA cross-link site is then encoded into complementary DNA (cDNA) in a single, direct step using an engineered reverse transcriptase that "jumps" across cross-linked nucleotides. The resulting cDNAs contain a deletion relative to the native RNA sequence, which can be detected by sequencing, that indicates the sites of cross-linked nucleotides. Here, we present SHAPE-JuMP (selective 2'-hydroxyl acylation analyzed by primer extension and juxtaposed merged pairs) to interrogate through-space RNA tertiary interactions. A bifunctional small molecule is used to chemically link proximal nucleotides in an RNA structure. The RNA cross-link site is then encoded into complementary DNA (cDNA) in a single, direct step using an engineered reverse transcriptase that "jumps" across cross-linked nucleotides. The resulting cDNAs contain a deletion relative to the native RNA sequence, which can be detected by sequencing, that indicates the sites of cross-linked nucleotides. SHAPE-JuMP measures RNA tertiary structure proximity concisely across large RNA molecules at nanometer resolution.     There is growing recognition of the importance of menstruation in achieving health, education, and gender equality for all. New policies in high income countries (HICs) have responded to anecdotal evidence that many struggle to meet their menstrual health needs. Qualitative research has explored lived experiences of menstruating in HICs and can contribute to designing intervention approaches. To inform the growing policy attention to support people who menstruate, here we review and synthesise the existing research.

    Primary, qualitative studies capturing experiences of menstruation in HICs were eligible for inclusion. Systematic database and hand searching identified 11485 records. Following screening and quality appraisal using the EPPI-Centre checklist, 104 studies (120 publications) detailing the menstrual experiences of over 3800 individuals across sixteen countries were included. We used the integrated model of menstrual experiences developed from studies in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) aacts of their menstrual experience including increased mental burden and detrimental impacts on participation and personal relationships. Positive experiences were more rarely reported, although relationships between cis-women were sometimes strengthened by shared experiences of menstrual bleeding. Included studies reflected a broad range of disciplines and epistemologies. Many aimed to understand the constructed meanings of menstruation, but few were explicitly designed to inform policy or practice. Few studies focused on socioeconomically disadvantaged groups relevant to new policy efforts.

    We developed an integrated model of menstrual experience in HICs which can be used to inform research, policy and practice decisions by emphasising the pathways through which positive and negative menstrual experiences manifest.

Subsequently, functional data analysis techniques are utilized to analyze the shapes of COVID-19 growth rate curves at the state level to characterize the spatiotemporal transmission patterns of SARS-CoV-2. The early estimates of the reproduction number for Mexico were estimated between Rt ~1.1-1.3 from the genomic and case incidence data. Moreover, the mean estimate of Rt has fluctuated around ~1.0 from late July till end of September 2020. The spatial analysis characterizes the state-level dynamics of COVID-19 into four groups with distinct epidemic trajectories based on epidemic growth rates. Our results show that the sequential mortality forecasts from the GLM and Richards model predict a downward trend in the number of deaths for all thirteen forecast periods for Mexico and Mexico City. However, the sub-epidemic and IHME models perform better predicting a more realistic stable trajectory of COVID-19 mortality trends for the last three forecast periods (09/21-10/21, 09/28-10/27, 09/28-10/27) for Mexico and Mexico City. Through the application of simulation software to analyze the influence of coal seam physical parameters (in situ stress, gas pressure, modulus of elasticity and strength of coal) and blasting parameters (fracturing pore size and peak pressure of detonation)on the effect of liquid CO2 phase change cracking, the simulation results showed that the cracking effect of liquid CO2 phase change was positively correlated with the changes in gas pressure, elastic modulus, fracture hole diameter and peak vent pressure, negatively correlated with the variation in situ stress and compressive strength, and nearly independent of the tensile strength. In addition, by using Gray correlation analysis to analyze the influence degree of six main factors on the cracking effect, the calculation results showed that the effect of blasting parameters was greater than that of physical parameters.

In this study, we characterized the microbiomes of four different rhizocompartments of two switchgrass ecotypes (Alamo and Kanlow) grown under drought or well-watered conditions via 16S ribosomal RNA amplicon sequencing. These four rhizocompartments, the bulk soil, rhizosheath soil, rhizoplane, and root endosphere, harbored both distinct and overlapping microbial communities. The root compartments (rhizoplane and root endosphere) displayed low-complexity communities dominated by Proteobacteria and Firmicutes. Compared to bulk soil, Cyanobacteria and Bacteroidetes were selectively enriched, while Proteobacteria and Firmicutes were selectively depleted, in rhizosheath soil. Taxa from Proteobacteria or Firmicutes were specifically selected in Alamo or Kanlow rhizosheath soil. Following drought stress, Citrobacter and Acinetobacter were further enriched in rhizosheath soil, suggesting that rhizosheath microbiome assembly is driven by drought stress. Additionally, the ecotype-specific recruitment of rhizosheath microbiome reveals their differences in drought stress responses. Collectively, these results shed light on rhizosheath microbiome recruitment in switchgrass and lay the foundation for the improvement of drought tolerance in switchgrass by regulating the rhizosheath microbiome.A method based on high-performance liquid chromatography and Fourier transform-ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry was developed to control the quality of Semen Hoveniae. First, the chromatographic fingerprint was established in combination with the chemometrics methods such as similarity analysis, cluster analysis, principal component analysis, and orthogonal partial least squares discriminant analysis to discover the qualitative markers. Then, an high-performance liquid chromatography mass spectrometry method was developed to identify the chemical constituents in Semen Hoveniae. Moreover, the content of dihydromyricetin and dihydroquercetin in Semen Hoveniae were determined by high-performance liquid chromatography. As a result, nine common peaks were assigned in the fingerprints and the similarity of the 13 batch samples varied from 0.425 to 0.993, indicating an obviously different quality. Dihydromyricetin and dihydroquercetin were the main qualitative markers to differ the quality of Semen Hoveniae. Meanwhile, a total of 21 chemical compounds were characterized by high-performance liquid chromatography mass spectrometry and six of them were identified by comparing with information of reference standards. Finally, the content of dihydromyricetin and dihydroquercetin in 13 batch samples varied from 0.824 to 7.499 mg/g and from 0.05941 to 4.258 mg/g , respectively. In conclusion, the methods developed here will provide sufficient qualitative and quantitative information for the quality control of Semen Hoveniae.
    Iron deficiency anaemia (IDA) and anaemia of chronic disease (ACD) are common causes of anaemia with similar clinical and laboratory features. IDA is caused by low iron stores while ACD is due to iron-restricted erythropoiesis occurring in inflammatory states. Differential diagnosis requires analysis of multiple biochemical and haematological parameters. IDA can occur simultaneously to ACD (mixed aetiology). It is essential that true iron deficiency is identified, as these patients will require iron therapy. This preliminary study investigated whether hepcidin, the master regulator of iron homeostasis, in conjunction with reticulocyte haemoglobin equivalent (RetHe) has the potential to differentiate IDA from ACD, and to exclude IDA in patients with mixed aetiology.

    Hepcidin concentration (measured using a commercially available ELISA method), RetHe, and iron parameters along with C-reactive protein (CRP) were analysed in 77 Gastroenterology patients with anaemia in a secondary care setting.

    Receiver operator characteristic (ROC) analysis showed that hepcidin at an optimal cut-off concentration of <6ng/ml could identify IDA with a sensitivity and specificity of 88.9% and 90.6% respectively and could distinguish ACD from IDA with both a sensitivity and specificity of 100% at a cut-off of >46ng/ml. Identifying true IDA in mixed aetiology patients could be achieved by RetHe analysis and applying an optimal cut-off of <30pg.

This study maps the funding relationships between foundations, ENGOs and think tanks in Canada and considers the implications for environmental politics. We examine foundation funding for different strains of environmental politics and policy-planning and consider how ENGOs and think tanks are clustered as communities within a foundation-centred support network. Of particular interest are 'clean growth' ENGOs that have emerged as key proponents of business-friendly approaches to the climate crisis. We find that the ENGOs receiving large grants tend to be conservationist while the think tanks tend to be conservative. Communities in the network are divided between several clusters of corporate and family foundations supporting conservative think tanks, clean growth ENGOs and conservationist ENGOs, and a segment of the network in which one municipal and several family foundations, support more social-ecological organizations, thereby facilitating more transformative visions and policies. Although few in number, clean growth organizations tend to receive giant donations, in some cases from corporate foundations aligned with the fossil-fuel sector. Recent adoption of clean growth as governmental policy and its embrace within philanthropic missions could reshape the environmental field towards 'clean growth', as ENGOs seek funding and legitimacy.

First, the chromatographic fingerprint was established in combination with the chemometrics methods such as similarity analysis, cluster analysis, principal component analysis, and orthogonal partial least squares discriminant analysis to discover the qualitative markers. Then, an high-performance liquid chromatography mass spectrometry method was developed to identify the chemical constituents in Semen Hoveniae. Moreover, the content of dihydromyricetin and dihydroquercetin in Semen Hoveniae were determined by high-performance liquid chromatography. As a result, nine common peaks were assigned in the fingerprints and the similarity of the 13 batch samples varied from 0.425 to 0.993, indicating an obviously different quality. Dihydromyricetin and dihydroquercetin were the main qualitative markers to differ the quality of Semen Hoveniae. Meanwhile, a total of 21 chemical compounds were characterized by high-performance liquid chromatography mass spectrometry and six of them were identified by comparing with information of reference standards. Finally, the content of dihydromyricetin and dihydroquercetin in 13 batch samples varied from 0.824 to 7.499 mg/g and from 0.05941 to 4.258 mg/g , respectively. In conclusion, the methods developed here will provide sufficient qualitative and quantitative information for the quality control of Semen Hoveniae. Iron deficiency anaemia (IDA) and anaemia of chronic disease (ACD) are common causes of anaemia with similar clinical and laboratory features. IDA is caused by low iron stores while ACD is due to iron-restricted erythropoiesis occurring in inflammatory states. Differential diagnosis requires analysis of multiple biochemical and haematological parameters. IDA can occur simultaneously to ACD (mixed aetiology). It is essential that true iron deficiency is identified, as these patients will require iron therapy. This preliminary study investigated whether hepcidin, the master regulator of iron homeostasis, in conjunction with reticulocyte haemoglobin equivalent (RetHe) has the potential to differentiate IDA from ACD, and to exclude IDA in patients with mixed aetiology. Hepcidin concentration (measured using a commercially available ELISA method), RetHe, and iron parameters along with C-reactive protein (CRP) were analysed in 77 Gastroenterology patients with anaemia in a secondary care setting. Receiver operator characteristic (ROC) analysis showed that hepcidin at an optimal cut-off concentration of <6ng/ml could identify IDA with a sensitivity and specificity of 88.9% and 90.6% respectively and could distinguish ACD from IDA with both a sensitivity and specificity of 100% at a cut-off of >46ng/ml. Identifying true IDA in mixed aetiology patients could be achieved by RetHe analysis and applying an optimal cut-off of <30pg. Hepcidin, in conjunction with RetHe, offers a new simplified diagnostic pathway for differential diagnosis of IDA and ACD, thereby reducing the diagnostic turnaround time and allowing appropriate treatment of patients with a true iron deficiency. This study maps the funding relationships between foundations, ENGOs and think tanks in Canada and considers the implications for environmental politics. We examine foundation funding for different strains of environmental politics and policy-planning and consider how ENGOs and think tanks are clustered as communities within a foundation-centred support network. Of particular interest are 'clean growth' ENGOs that have emerged as key proponents of business-friendly approaches to the climate crisis. We find that the ENGOs receiving large grants tend to be conservationist while the think tanks tend to be conservative. Communities in the network are divided between several clusters of corporate and family foundations supporting conservative think tanks, clean growth ENGOs and conservationist ENGOs, and a segment of the network in which one municipal and several family foundations, support more social-ecological organizations, thereby facilitating more transformative visions and policies. Although few in number, clean growth organizations tend to receive giant donations, in some cases from corporate foundations aligned with the fossil-fuel sector. Recent adoption of clean growth as governmental policy and its embrace within philanthropic missions could reshape the environmental field towards 'clean growth', as ENGOs seek funding and legitimacy.

  • Pancreatic cancer features elaborate mechanisms of immune evasion. The potential of new immune molecules was explored to restore the antitumor immune response. If these immune molecules are associated with poor survival, specific drugs could take effect. Here, we analyze the expression of VISTA, LAG3, IDO, and TIM3 on tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) and its impact on patient survival. We analyzed 153 pancreatic cancer patients from the prospectively managed database of the multicentered PANCALYZE study. Immunohistochemistry on a tissue microarray assessed VISTA, LAG3, IDO, and TIM3 expression of TILs from the patients undergoing primary resection. Complementarily, we analyzed publicly available transcriptomic data (n = 903). Successful completion of chemotherapy, and lymph node status were independent predictors of survival in the multivariate analysis of the clinicopathologic parameters. Fifteen tumors were exclusively VISTA-positive, thirteen tumors expressed VISTA together with TIM3, and ten tumors expressed VISTA together with IDO. Patients featuring tumors with high numbers of IDO-positive TILs had better patient survival (p = 0.037). VISTA, LAG3, and TIM3 expression did not correlate with survival. Among the increased proteins were THY1 and GNA11/14, which are signaling proteins with hitherto unknown functions in the radiation response and NTE. In the corresponding ****conditioned medium, the three chaperones GRP78, CALR, and PDIA3 were increased. Together with GPI, these were the only four altered proteins, which were associated with the observed genotoxic NTE. In addition, we analyzed the percentages of the xanthan gum monosaccharides produced by X. citri wild-type and xanA mutant. The mutant strain had higher ratios of mannose, galactose, and xylose and lower ratios of rhamnose, glucuronic acid, and glucose than the wild-type strain. Such changes in the saccharide composition led to the reduction of xanthan yield in the xanA deficient strain, affecting also other important features in X.

Materials and Methods Autopsy cases from August 2014 to July 2019 of patients exposed to a single type of GBCA, either gadoteridol or gadobenate dimeglumine, either single or multiple doses, were included. Gadolinium levels in the brain, skin, and bone were analyzed with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. Linear regression was used to compare gadolinium retention between agents and estimate elimination rates of the retained gadolinium using the time between last injection and death. Aims We aimed to examine the impact of COVID-19 on suicide risk by sampling Chinese Weibo users and analyzing their social media messages. Method We predicted the probability of suicide (including hopelessness, suicidal ideation, negative self-evaluation, and hostility) of Weibo users in order to assess the changes in suicide probability at different times. Repeated-measures ANOVA was performed to examine the differences in suicide probability in different regions during different periods. Results There was no significant difference in suicide probability between profoundly infected areas (PIAs) and less infected areas (LIAs) before the outbreak of COVID-19. LIAs had an increase in hopelessness during the COVID-19 growth period, while hopelessness and hostility in PIA increased during the COVID-19 decline period, indicating potential suicide probability. Aims In this article we describe the development, validation, and application of the Literacy of Suicide Scale (LOSS). Method A total of 658 people participated in the development of the LOSS, while 191 participated in a validation study. Item response theory was used to identify LOSS items. A systematic review of the literature was conducted to ascertain the breadth of use and application of the LOSS. Results Overall, 26 items were selected for the final version of the LOSS, with 12 items identified for a short form of the scale. The LOSS has been included in 25 studies across nine countries with general community, student, and clinical populations. The LOSS has demonstrated change in response to psychoeducation interventions and is associated with suicide stigma and help-seeking in select studies. Limitations Further validation of the LOSS in clinical populations is needed. Conclusion The LOSS is a comprehensive measure of suicide literacy that may be used to identify knowledge gaps, inform awareness-raising activities, and assess the effectiveness of interventions to improve suicide literacy.

Repeated-measures ANOVA was performed to examine the differences in suicide probability in different regions during different periods. Results There was no significant difference in suicide probability between profoundly infected areas (PIAs) and less infected areas (LIAs) before the outbreak of COVID-19. A systematic review of the literature was conducted to ascertain the breadth of use and application of the LOSS. Results Overall, 26 items were selected for the final version of the LOSS, with 12 items identified for a short form of the scale. The LOSS has been included in 25 studies across nine countries with general community, student, and clinical populations. The LOSS has demonstrated change in response to psychoeducation interventions and is associated with suicide stigma and help-seeking in select studies. Limitations Further validation of the LOSS in clinical populations is needed.     Google searches and supplementary methods were used to identify relevant groups in Canada. Group information was extracted from websites or through interviews with key informants.

    We identified 40 groups. Groups were commonly part of a hospital/healthcare facility, nonprofit/health organization or research group. To identify microRNAs (miRNAs) that can improve the efficacy of BRAF inhibitor dabrafenib (DAB) and MEK inhibitor trametinib (TRA), we screened 240 miRNAs in BRAF-mutated CRC cells and identified five candidate miRNAs. Overexpression of miR-193a-3p, one of the five screened miRNAs, in CRC cells inhibited cell proliferation by inducing apoptosis. Reverse-phase protein array analysis revealed that proteins with altered phosphorylation induced by miR-193a-3p were involved in several oncogenic pathways including MAPK-related pathways. Furthermore, overexpression of miR-193a-3p in BRAF-mutated cells enhanced the efficacy of DAB and TRA through inhibiting reactivation of MAPK signaling and inducing inhibition of Mcl1. Inhibition of Mcl1 by siRNA or by Mcl1 inhibitor increased the antiproliferative effect of combination therapy with DAB, TRA, and anti-EGFR antibody cetuximab. Collectively, our study demonstrated the possibility that miR-193a-3p acts as a tumor suppressor through regulating multiple proteins involved in oncogenesis and affects cellular sensitivity to MAPK-related pathway inhibitors such as BRAF inhibitors, MEK inhibitors, and/or anti-EGFR antibodies. A total of 90 patients from three mental health units in Castellón, Spain, were recruited and randomly assigned to "ABCT + treatment as usual (TAU)," "Mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) + TAU" or "TAU" alone. Affective distress, as measured by the "Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scales" (DASS-21) was the main outcome; self-compassion and mindfulness were also assessed. Multilevel mixed-effects models were used to estimate the effectiveness of the program, and path analyses were conducted to study the potential mechanistic role of mindfulness and self-compassion.

    ABCT was not superior to MBSR in any outcome or at any assessment point.
