In this study, by combining the bulked segregant analysis with whole-genome sequencing, we identified a 14 nucleotide deletion mutation in the coding region of the PpBBX24 gene from the red pear mutant "Zaosu Red". We further verified that the deletion was present only in the red mutant of "Zaosu" and in its red offspring, which was different from that which occurred in other red pear fruits. This deletion results in a coding frame shift such that there is an early termination of the PpBBX24 gene and loss of key NLS and VP domains from PpBBX24. The lost domains may reduce or alter the normal function of PpBBX24. In addition, we found that the transcript levels of the PpMYB10 and PpHY5 genes in red samples were significantly higher than those in green samples, whereas the results for the normal-type PpBBX24 gene were the opposite. We ultimately revealed that the 14 nucleotide deletion mutation in the coding region of the PpBBX24 gene is associated with the red skin of the "Zaosu Red" pear. Differences in gene composition and expression patterns lead homologous polyploid plants to exhibit different physiological phenomena, among which enhanced environmental adaptability is a powerful phenotype conferred by polyploidization. The mechanisms underlying the differences in stress tolerance between diploids and autotetraploids at the molecular level remain unclear. In this research, a full-length transcription profile obtained via the single-molecule real-time (SMRT) sequencing of high-quality single RNA molecules for use as background was combined with next-generation transcriptome and proteome technologies to probe the variation in the molecular mechanisms of autotetraploids. Tetraploids exhibited an increase in ABA content of 78.4% under natural conditions and a superior stress-resistance phenotype under severe drought stress compared with diploids. The substantial differences in the transcriptome profiles observed between diploids and autotetraploids under normal growth conditions were mainly related to ABA biosynthesis and signal transduction pathways, and 9-cis-epoxycarotenoid dioxygenase 1 (NCED1) and NCED2, which encode key synthetic enzymes, were significantly upregulated. The increased expression of the ABRE-binding factor 5-like (ABF5-like) gene was a pivotal factor in promoting the activation of the ABA signaling pathway and downstream target genes. In addition, ABA strongly induced the expression of osmotic proteins to increase the stress tolerance of the plants at the translational level. We consider the intrinsic mechanisms by which ABA affects drought resistance in tetraploids and diploids to understand the physiological and molecular mechanisms that enhance abiotic stress tolerance in polyploid plants.Coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.), also known as cilantro, is a globally important vegetable and spice crop. The highest ratio of the numbers of MADS TFs between coriander and carrot reached 3.15, followed by those for tubby protein (TUB) and heat shock factors. As a demonstration of CGDB applications, we identified 17 TUB family genes and conducted systematic comparative and evolutionary analyses. RNA-seq data deposited in the CGDB also suggest dose compensation effects of gene expression in coriander. CGDB allows bulk downloading, significance searches, genome browser analyses, and BLAST searches for comparisons between coriander and other plants regarding genomics, gene families, gene collinearity, gene expression, and the metabolome. Here, a valance band modulation mode is proposed and a quantum engineering doping method is conducted to achieve high-efficient p-type ultra-wide band-gap nitrides, in which GaN quantum-dots are buried in nitride matrix to produce a new band edge and thus to tune the dopant activation energy.   • Our findings demonstrate the importance of incorporating greater realism into road-effect zones and considering the ubiquity of road pollution in global environmental issues. We used Great Britain as a study area, but the findings likely apply to other densely populated regions at present, and to many additional regions in the future due to the predicted rapid expansion of the global road network.Microplastics in the environment occur in different sizes and shapes and are made of various polymers. Therefore, they also considerably differ in their properties and ecotoxicity. However, the majority of microplastics research uses pre-made spherical microplastics, which practically do not exist in the environment. #link# Our work focused on a comprehensive study of six different types of microplastic that were prepared to simulate common microplastics found in the environment. All types of microplastics where chemically and physically characterized using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, thermal analysis, field-emission scanning electron microscopy, optical microscopy and laser diffraction analysis. The specific surface area was determined using the BET method. Furthermore, effects of microplastics and microplastic leachates on a common duckweed (Lemna minor) were evaluated. All tested microplastics did not affect specific growth rate and chlorophyll a content in duckweed, while microplastics with a rough surface and sharp edges caused a significant reduction of duckweed root length. Microplastics made of Bakelite also showed an intensive leaching, which increased their ecotoxicity potential. Natural particles used as a control did not have any negative effect on duckweed. Overall, microplastic particles have significantly different ecotoxicity profiles depending on their physico-chemical properties. Therefore, the testing of environmentally relevant particles and their proper characterization, as well as the testing of microplastic leaching properties, is crucial for understanding of microplastics ecotoxicological potential.In Colombia, the beef production chain accounts for approximately 11.6 million cattle heads and annually produces 933 million kg of the beef carcass. There are no life cycle assessment (LCA) studies that have evaluated the environmental performance of Colombian beef systems. The present study aimed to estimate the carbon footprint (CF), non-renewable energy use, and land use of 251 ***-calf and 275 fattening farms in Colombia. The study also aimed to identify the main hotspots of adverse environmental impacts and propose possible mitigation options and their cost-effectiveness. The impact categories were estimated using the 2006 IPCC and the 2019 Refinement to 2006 IPCC guidelines, databases, and locally estimated emission factors. The functional units used were 1 kg fat and protein corrected milk (FPCM) and 1 kg live weight gain (LWG), leaving the farm gate. Three methods of allocating environmental burdens to meat and milk products were applied economic, energy, and mass allocation. The adoption of improved pastures was considered a mitigation measure, and an economic assessment was performed to estimate the relative cost-effectiveness of its establishment. A principal component multivariate analysis and a Hierarchical Clustering on Principal Components were performed. The economic allocation method assigned a greater environmental burden to meat (83%), followed by energy content (80%) and mass production (73%). The largest sources of GHG emissions were enteric fermentation and manure deposited on pasture. Both ***-calf and fattening systems had a cluster of farms with better productivity, pasture and cattle management practices, and environmental performance. The CF for meat could be reduced by 33 to 56% for ***-calf and 21 to 25% for fattening farms, by adopting improved pastures. Therefore, our results suggest that GHG emissions can be reduced by adopting improved pastures, better agricultural management practices, efficient fertilizer usage, using the optimal stocking rate, and increasing productivity.Aeration of wetland soils containing iron (Fe) sulfides can cause strong acidification due to the generation of large amounts of sulfuric acid and formation of Fe oxyhydroxy sulfate phases such as jarosite. Mineralogical analyses confirmed jarosite losses in both soils. While lepidocrocite formed in the natural sulfuric soil, goethite was formed in the artificial sulfuric soil. Both soils showed also increases in non-sulfidized, probably organically associated Fe2+/Fe3+, but no (re-)formation of Fe sulfides. Unlike Fe sulfides, the formed Fe oxyhydroxides are not prone to support re-acidification in the case of future aeration. The megacities of Wuhan, Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou were selected as the study area, and the variation trends of air pollutants for the period January-May between 2016 and 2020 were analyzed. The passenger volume of public transportation (PVPT) and the passenger volume of taxis (PVT) along with data on precipitation, temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, and boundary layer height were used to identify and quantify the driving force of the air pollution variation. The results showed that the change rates of fine particulate matter (PM2.5), NO2, and SO2 before and during the lockdown in the four megacities ranged from -49.9% to 78.2% (average -9.4% ± 59.3%), -55.4% to -32.3% (average -43.0% ± 9.7%), and - 21.

    Nurses' green behavior can directly reduce costs and protect the natural environment and organizational sustainability by saving resources and energy. It is not clear how green behavior intention affects green behavior or how the positive influence of green behavior intention on green behavior can be enhanced.
    . This is a cross-sectional study, and the surveys are collected from 3 hospitals in China. Of the initial cohort of 489 nurses, 89.6% were female. There were 327 subjects (66.9%) aged 35 or less, 267 subjects (54.6%) with 10 years or less of work experience, and 220 unmarried subjects (44.9%). Data were collected from January to July 2018, using three surveys green behavior intentions, green behavior, and ethical leadership.

Despite the development of diagnostic tools, it may be difficult to diagnose ACS because of atypical symptoms and equivocal test results. We investigated the difference in the rates of revisit and undetected ACS between adult and elderly patients who visited the ED with chest pain.

    This study is aimed at exploring the relationship between green behavior intentions and green behavior and analyzing the moderating role of ethical leadership in this relationship. Nurses' green behavior can directly reduce costs and protect the natural environment and organizational sustainability by saving resources and energy. It is not clear how green behavior intention affects green behavior or how the positive influence of green behavior intention on green behavior can be enhanced. . This is a cross-sectional study, and the surveys are collected from 3 hospitals in China. Of the initial cohort of 489 nurses, 89.6% were female. There were 327 subjects (66.9%) aged 35 or less, 267 subjects (54.6%) with 10 years or less of work experience, and 220 unmarried subjects (44.9%). Data were collected from January to July 2018, using three surveys green behavior intentions, green behavior, and ethical leadership. Green behavior intentions impacted employee green behavior ( = 0.32, = 5.37, < 0.0n when ethical leadership is low.     Anti-myelin oligodendrocyte protein antibody-associated disease (MOGAD) is a new disease entity with various clinical phenotypes. MOGAD often present with recurrent optic neuritis (ON), and it can also develop as a compartment of neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD). Moreover, multiple autoantibodies such as an anti-myeloperoxidase antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (MPO-ANCA) had been reported in the serum of patients with NMOSD.

    We report an 86-year-old woman with a 2-year history of microscopic polyangiitis (MPA). The patient had a rapid loss of vision in her left eye. No abnormal findings were observed on her left fundus, and she tested negative for MPO-ANCA upon admission. However, anti-MOG antibodies were observed in the patient's serum and cerebrospinal fluid.

    A diagnosis of MOGAD complicated with MPA was made.

    The patient received twice steroid pulse therapy and oral azathioprine as maintenance therapy.

    Her vision rapidly recovered, and no subsequent relapse was observed during the 8-month observation period.

    As the last link in the chain of cardiovascular events, chronic heart failure (CHF) has high morbidity, high mortality, and poor prognosis. It is one of the main causes of death and disability worldwide. Shenfuqiangxin Pills (SFQX) is widely used as a Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) prescription for CHF, but there is still a lack of strict evidence-based medical evidence. Therefore, we make a protocol for evaluating the efficacy and safety of SFQX for CHF.

    According to the search strategy, randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of SFQX for CHF will be retrieved from 8 databases without limitation of publication date or language. First of all, the literature was screened according to the eligibility criteria, and use the Cochrane Collaboration's tool to assess the quality of the included literature. Then, using software for traditional meta-analysis. Finally, using GRADE method to assess the strength of recommendations.

    This study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of SFQX for CHF, thereby providing more evidence support for clinical decision-making in CHF.

    Infertility affects childbearing age couples all over the world. One of the important reasons for infertility is genetic factors. Our study evaluated the association between methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) and azoospermia.

    Multiple databases like MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cochrane library, and China journal full-text database were used to search for relevant studies, and full-text articles involved in the evaluation of MTHFR and azoospermia. The results were evaluated using STATA 12.0. Heterogeneity analysis, sensitivity analysis, and bias analysis were also performed on the data.

    Thirteen related studies eventually met the inclusion criteria.     Shenfu Injection (SFI) is a promising alternative treatment for heart failure (HF) in China. Many complete clinical trials have examined the efficacy of SFI combined use with conventional treatment (CT) vs CT alone. In fully adjusted models, reporting high depressive symptoms at waves one or two (odds ratio (OR) 0.71, 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.55 to 0.92), as well as at both waves (OR 0.55, 95% CI 0.41 to 0.75) were associated with a reduced likelihood of completing secondary schooling by wave three. High depressive symptoms reported at multiple waves were also associated with a reduced likelihood of employment (OR 0.49, 95% CI 0.36 to 0.66). Amongst those employed at wave three (n = 2091; 72.5%), adolescent depressive symptoms were associated only with workplace incivility. In addition, bird preferences for different lights, feather damage and egg production were monitored. The results showed that the behavioural repertoire of birds changed with age, while the effects of light treatment were subtle. Some evidence was found that birds preferred either daylight or forest light to control light, suggesting that inclusion of UV contributed to the preference. Daylight and forest light were associated with more active behaviours, and daylight with better plumage and later start of lay.

The principal component analysis (PCA) demonstrated that the first main component referred to the variety type in 68%, and the second main component described the stage of the ontogenetic development of the plant in 26%. As indicated by the values of each parameter measured, all the parameters were found to exert a strong impact on the variability of the analyzed system. The occurrence of weevil infestation was also strongly but negatively correlated with seed wall thickness and capsule wall thickness. The management system application layer contains many sub-function modules including poultry disease detection functions to realize the visual management of farming information and health farming; each module operates independently and cooperates with each other to form a set of information management system for poultry farming with wide functional coverage, high service efficiency, safety, and convenience. The system prototype has been tested for the performance of wireless sensor network and cloud database, and the results show that the prototype is capable of acquiring and managing poultry farming information.

    Eight neurologists provided medical attention to patients hospitalized for COVID-19 to provide medical support to other hospital units tasked with the care of an increasingly larger influx of patients with COVID-19. A series of 100 consecutive, unselected patients were evaluated systematically, including a questionnaire that collected medical information derived from the initial examination and the medical history.

    Eighty-eight percent of the patients had 1 neurologic manifestation associated with COVID-19 during hospitalization. Most common were anosmia-dysgeusia and headache (44% each), myalgias (43%), and dizziness (36%). Less frequent were encephalopathy (8%), syncope (7%), seizures (2%), and ischemic stroke during the period of hospitalization (2%). Anosmia and headache associated with younger patients with less severe disease, and both were associated with each other and with serum inflammatory markers. Encephalopathy was associated with fever and syncope and with markers of inflammation.

Examining the role of neurologists on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic response represents an opportunity to review and apply key features of disaster neurology, including recognizing the categories of neurologic cases expected to be seen during a disaster, adapting inpatient and outpatient workflows, and accommodating the needs of vulnerable populations. Relating principles of disaster neurology to the response of neurologists to the current pandemic informs best practices for neurologic care as COVID-19 cases continue to surge throughout the United States and abroad.Aging physicians are at a higher risk of cognitive impairment, undermining patient safety and unraveling physicians' careers. Neurologists, occupational health physicians, and psychiatrists will participate in both health system policy decisions and individual patient evaluations. We address cognitive impairment in aging physicians and attendant risks and benefits. If significant cognitive impairment is found after an appropriate evaluation, precautions to confidentially support physicians' practicing safely for as long as possible should be instituted.   • The COVID-19 pandemic provided a commercial opportunity for traders marketing a range of ultraviolet (UV) radiation products for home-use disinfection. Due to concerns about the efficacy of such products and the potential for harmful levels of UV exposure to people, a range of products were purchased from on-line trading platforms. Spectral irradiance measurements were carried out to determine whether the products could be effective against the SARS-CoV-2 virus and whether they were likely to exceed internationally agreed exposure limits. It was concluded that many of the devices were not effective and many of those that were potentially effective presented a risk to users.
    To identify organizational complementarities of adoption and use of electronic health records (EHRs) and assess what organizational strategies were associated with more advanced EHR use.

    Primary survey data of US hospitals combined with secondary data from the American Hospital Association Annual Survey and IT Supplement.

    In this cross-sectional study, we describe hospital organizational practices around EHR adoption and use and identify how these practices coalesce into distinct strategies. We then assess the association between those organizational strategies and adoption of advanced EHR functions.

    Primary data collection consisted of surveys sent to 797 US acute care hospitals in 2018-2019, with 451 complete respondents.

    There was significant variation in hospital organizational practices for EHR adoption and use. Factor analysis identified practices in three domains leadership engagement, human capital, and systems integration. Hospitals in the top quartile of the leadership engagement factor welue from their EHR investment may find it useful to know that there is an association between adoption of more advanced EHR functions, and engaging senior leadership as well as building connectivity between clinical and administrative systems.The Model for End-Stage Liver Disease score may have eliminated racial disparities on the waitlist for liver transplantation (LT), but disparities prior to waitlist placement have not been adequately quantified. We aimed to analyze differences in patients who are listed for LT, undergo transplantation, and die from end-stage liver disease (ESLD), stratified by state and race/ethnicity. We analyzed two databases retrospectively - the Center for Disease Control Wide-ranging OnLine Data for Epidemiologic Research (CDC WONDER) and the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) databases from 2014-2018. We included patients aged 25-64 years who had a primary cause of death of ESLD and listed for transplant in the CDC WONDER and UNOS databases, respectively. Our primary outcome was the ratio of listing for LT to death from ESLD - listing to death ratio (LDR). Our secondary outcome was the transplant to listing and transplant to death ratios. Chi-squared and multivariable linear regression evaluated for differences between race/ethnicity. 135,367 patients died of ESLD, 54,734 patients were listed for transplant, and 26,571 underwent transplant. Patients were mostly male and White. The national LDR was 0.40, significantly lowest in Black patients (0.30), p less then 0.001. The national transplant to listing ratio was 0.48, highest in Black patients (0.53), p less then 0.01. The national transplant to death ratio was 0.20, lowest in Black patients (0.16), p less then 0.001. Family-focused therapy (FFT) is a 4-month, 12-session treatment for bipolar and psychosis patients consisting of psychoeducation, communication training, and problem-solving skills training. In a pilot randomized trial, we compared two methods of training community clinicians in FFT (a) high intensity (n = 24), consisting of a 6-hour in-person didactic workshop followed by telephone supervision for every session with training cases; or (b) low-intensity training (n = 23), consisting of a 4-hour online workshop covering the same material as the in-person workshop followed by telephone supervision after every third session with training cases. Of 47 clinician participants, 18 (11 randomly assigned to high intensity, 7 to low) enrolled 34 patients with mood or psychotic disorders (mean age 16.5 ± 2.0 years; 44.1% female) in an FFT implementation phase. Expert supervisors rated clinicians' fidelity to the FFT manual based on taped family sessions. We detected no differences in fidelity scores between clinicians in the two training conditions, nor did patients treated by clinicians in high- versus low-intensity training differ in end-of-treatment depression or mania symptoms. These large, positively charged molecules form large clusters with suspended particles in the liquid medium. In the present study, three natural organic flocculants (cationic starch, chitosan and acacia tannin S5T) were tested to harvest microalgal cultures grown in wastewater. Two microalgal species, one strain of Chlorella vulgaris and one strain of Scenedesmus obliquus, were cultured in municipal wastewater for different lengths of time, and settled using either cationic starch, chitosan or acacia tannin S5T. Results indicated that S5T worked with approximately the same efficiency in the two assayed species, although it requires a relatively high dosage to function (about 300 mg L-1 ), while the other two flocculants varied from species to species.

Given the recent increased attention to epigenetic mechanisms in the genesis and progression of these tumors, we aimed to classify HB samples according to the stages of liver development and DNA methylation machinery.

    We evaluated the expression of 24 genes associated with DNA methylation and stages of hepatocyte differentiation and global DNA methylation. Using bioinformatics tools and expression data, we propose a stratification model for HB.

This case report discusses a small leucoplakia with dysplasia on the tongue's lateral border in a woman, diagnosed early after a routine clinical consultation.

    A 57-year-old female patient consulted to the Oral Diagnosis and Surgery Service of the State University of Ponta Grossa, Brazil. First, the patient was referred for the extraction of her lower incisors due to periodontal disease. During clinical examination, was identified a sessile white plaque, of small size, and located on the tongue's left lateral border. Thus, the lesion's diagnostic hypothesis was oral leucoplakia due to patient be chronic smoker for 40 years. The incisional biopsy was performed, with the epithelial tissue and part of the connective tissue removed.

    The histopathological examination revealed a stratified and keratinized pavement epithelium, with cellular atypia, and presence of hyperchromatism and nuclear pleomorphism. However, the alterations were restricted to the epithelium's basal, characterizing a mild dysplasia. The proposed treatment was surgical removal of the lesion, and the patient was also instructed to quit smoking, as well as she continues to follow-up.

    The presented case emphasizes the importance of early diagnosis and the orientation of risk factors to smoking patients, even in small lesions that can clinically appear harmless.
