Given the significant health burden of childhood obesity, it is imperative that effective programs be better understood. When evaluating obesity prevention efforts, one must recognize the contextual factors which drive the disproportionate risk of obesity between populations. This systematic review sought to understand if programs aimed at obesity prevention and/or the promotion of healthy lifestyle behaviours for Indigenous children are effective. We conducted a search using Medline, EMBASE, PsychINFO, ERIC, CINAHL and iPORTAL databases from inception to August 13, 2019. We included experimental and quasi-experimental studies. The main outcomes of interest were change in anthropometrics, nutrition or physical activity. Our narrative synthesis included an assessment of study quality using the Effective Public Health Practice Project Quality assessment tool. A total of 34 studies met selection criteria. Most studies used a quasi-experimental design (n = 25) and were assessed as low to moderate quality (n = 32). Three studies showed a significant change in anthropometric measures, 14 studies demonstrated at least one significant nutrition-related behaviour or dietary-pattern change, and six studies demonstrated a significant impact on physical activity. This systematic review of programs to prevent obesity among Indigenous children finds a limited impact on anthropometric measurements. Future studies must prioritize Indigenous knowledge and ways of knowing to lead all phases of development, implementation, and evaluation of programs.
The advent of COVID-19 has impinged millions of people. The increased concern of the virus spread in confined spaces due to meteorological factors has sequentially fostered the need to improve indoor air quality.
This paper aims to review control measures and preventive sustainable solutions for the future that can deliberately help in bringing down the impact of declined air quality and prevent future biological attacks from affecting the occupant's health.
Anontology chart is constructed based on the set objectives and review of all the possible measures to improve the indoor air quality taking into account the affecting parameters has been done.
An integrated approach considering non-pharmaceutical and engineering control measures together for a healthy indoor environment should be contemplated rather than discretizing the available solutions. Maintaining social distance by reducing occupant density and implementing a modified ventilation system with advance filters for decontamination of viral load can help in sustaining healthy indoor air quality.

Therefore, the overall goal of this article is to highlight the personal situation and perspective of a young Swiss cardiac surgeon in training during the COVID-19 pandemic. This article reflects the personal opinion of a young Swiss cardiac surgeon discussing the impact of the pandemic for young surgeons in training and potential chances and learning effects.In recent years, researchers have studied how nanotechnology could enhance neuroimaging techniques. The application of nanomaterial-based flexible electronics has the potential to advance conventional intracranial electroencephalography (iEEG) by utilising brain-compatible soft nanomaterials. The resultant technique has significantly high spatial and temporal resolution, both of which enhance the localisation of brain functions and the mapping of dynamic language processing. This review presents findings on aphasia, an impairment in language and communication, and discusses how different brain imaging techniques, including positron emission tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and iEEG, have advanced our understanding of the neural networks underlying language and reading processing. We then outline the strengths and weaknesses of iEEG in studying human cognition and the development of intracranial recordings that use brain-compatible flexible electrodes. We close by discussing the potential advantages and challenges of future investigations adopting nanomaterial-based flexible electronics for intracranial recording in patients with aphasia.Focused electron beam-induced processing is a versatile method for the fabrication of metallic nanostructures with arbitrary shape, in particular, on top of two-dimensional (2D) organic materials, such as self-assembled monolayers (SAMs). This time dependence is a new phenomenon, which, to the best of our knowledge, was not reported before. The electron-induced cross-linking of the SAM caused by the cleavage of C-H bonds and the subsequent formation of new C-C bonds between neighboring molecules also seems to play a crucial role in the EBISA process. Previous studies showed that iron nanostructures fabricated on top of a cross-linked SAM on Au/**** can be transferred to solid substrates and grids without any changes, aside from oxidation. Here we demonstrate that iron as well as cobalt oxide structures on top of a cross-linked SAM on Ag/**** do change more significantly. The Fe(NO3)3 solution used for etching of the Ag layer also dissolves the cobalt oxide structures and causes dissolution and reduction of the iron structures. These results demonstrate that the fabrication of hybrids of metallic nanostructures onto organic 2D materials is an intrinsically complex procedure. The interactions among the metallic deposits, the substrate for the growth of the SAM, and the associated etching/dissolving agent need to be considered and further studied.

After the sequencing process, four specimens were excluded, and the final 31 samples remained for genetic diversity and variation analysis. The predominant single G/P combination was G1P[8] (~78%), followed by G2P[8] (~13%), and equal percentages (3%) of G2P[4], G3P[8], and G-non-typeable-P[8]. Further analyses revealed that variations could be found in the three regions of NSP4, including VP4 binding site (aa 112-146), double-layered particle binding site (aa 161-175), and finally, in the predicted amphipathic alpha-helix. Phylogenic tree analysis demonstrated that the mentioned samples clustered with genotype E1 and E2 reference sequences. As previously reported in the literature, in this study, it was revealed that no apparent correlation exists in the deduced amino acid sequences corresponding to this region between the rotaviruses collected from patients with and without diarrhea.
Growth stage contributes critically to the physicochemical properties of starches, which make achieving desired functional properties by controlling the growth period possible. Thus, this study investigated the changes in multiscale structure and physicochemical properties of potatoes starches harvested at different growth stages.
The amylose and phosphate content varied over the growth period, with the ranges 2.756-2.998 g kg

People taking CGRP-targeted mAbs for migraine prevention sometimes take ubrogepant, an oral small-molecule CGRP receptor antagonist, for acute treatment of breakthrough migraine attacks.
In this two-arm, multicenter, open-label, phase 1b trial, adults with migraine were randomized to arm 1 (ubrogepant±erenumab) or arm 2 (ubrogepant±galcanezumab). The PK profile of ubrogepant was characterized for administration before and 4days after CGRP-targeted mAb injection. Participants received single-dose ubrogepant 100mg on day 1, subcutaneous erenumab 140mg (arm 1) or galcanezumab 240mg (arm 2) on day 8, and ubrogepant 100mg once daily on days 12-15. In each study arm, serial blood samples were drawn on days 1 and 12 for measurement of plasma ubrogepant concentrations. The primary outcomes were area undmilar to those reported with each treatment alone. No serious TEAEs, TEAEs leading to discontinuation, or clinically relevant changes in laboratory parameters or vital signs were reported.

Observational studies have suggested that increased levels of education and cognition are associated with a reduced risk of epilepsy. However, such associations are easily influenced by confounding or reverse causality. Hence, we conducted a two-sample univariable and multivariable Mendelian randomization (MR) to estimate the total and independent causal effects of educational attainment and cognition on epilepsy risk.
We performed MR estimates on International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) Consortium genome-wide association study (GWAS) data (15212 epilepsy cases and 29677 controls). We then validated the results in FinnGen (3424 epilepsy cases and 110963 controls) and applied meta-analysis to all the results.
In the meta-analysis of the ILAE and FinnGen results, genetically determined increased educational attainment was associated with a reduced risk of epilepsy (odds ratio [OR] 0.84, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.80-0.88; P<.001). Similarly, genetically determined increased cognitive function was associated with a reduced risk of epilepsy (OR 0.94, 95% CI 0.88-1.00, P=.043). When educational attainment and cognitive function were included in the same multivariable MR, only educational attainment was still associated with a reduced risk of epilepsy (OR 0.88, 95% CI 0.81-0.95, P=.002).

Previous studies have investigated patients' treatment goals before starting a treatment for metastatic lung cancer. Data on the evaluation of treatment goals are lacking.
To determine if patients with metastatic lung cancer and their oncologists perceive the treatment goals they defined at the start of systemic treatment as achieved after treatment and if in hindsight they believe it was the right decision to start systemic therapy.
A prospective multicenter study in 6 hospitals across the Netherlands between 2016 and 2018. Following systemic treatment, 146 patients with metastatic lung cancer and 23 oncologists completed a questionnaire on the achievement of their treatment goals and whether they made the right treatment decision. Additional interviews with 15 patients and 5 oncologists were conducted.
According to patients and oncologists, treatment goals were achieved in 30% and 37% for 'quality of life,' 49% and 41% for 'life prolongation,' 26% and 44% for 'decrease in tumor size,' and 44% for 'cure', respectively. Most patients and oncologists, in hindsight, felt they had made the right decision to start treatment even if they had not achieved their goals (72% and 93%). This was related to the feeling that they had to do 'something.'
Before deciding on treatment, the treatment options, including their benefits and side effects, and the goals patients have should be discussed. It is key that these discussions include not only systemic treatment but also palliative care as effective options for doing 'something.'

It is key that these discussions include not only systemic treatment but also palliative care as effective options for doing 'something.'Throughout recent decades, histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitors have shown encouraging potential in cancer treatment, and several pan-HDAC inhibitors have been approved for treating malignant cancers. Numerous adverse effects of pan-HDAC inhibitors have been reported, however, during preclinical and clinical evaluations. To avoid undesirable responses, an increasing number of investigations are focusing on the development of isotype-selective HDAC inhibitors. In this study, we present an effective and quantitative cellular assay using high-content analysis (HCA) to determine compounds' inhibition of the activity of HDAC6 and Class I HDAC isoforms, by detecting the acetylation of their corresponding substrates (i.e., α-tubulin and histone H3). Several conditions that are critical for HCA assays, such as cell seeding number, fixation and permeabilization reagent, and antibody dilution, have been fully validated in this study. We used selective HDAC6 inhibitors and inhibitors targeting different HDAC isoforms to optimize and validate the capability of the HCA assay. The results indicated that the HCA assay is a robust assay for quantifying compounds' selectivity of HDAC6 and Class I HDAC isoforms in cells. Moreover, we screened a panel of compounds for HDAC6 selectivity using this HCA assay, which provided valuable information for the structure-activity relationship (SAR). Previous studies have investigated patients' treatment goals before starting a treatment for metastatic lung cancer. Data on the evaluation of treatment goals are lacking. To determine if patients with metastatic lung cancer and their oncologists perceive the treatment goals they defined at the start of systemic treatment as achieved after treatment and if in hindsight they believe it was the right decision to start systemic therapy. A prospective multicenter study in 6 hospitals across the Netherlands between 2016 and 2018. Following systemic treatment, 146 patients with metastatic lung cancer and 23 oncologists completed a questionnaire on the achievement of their treatment goals and whether they made the right treatment decision. Additional interviews with 15 patients and 5 oncologists were conducted. According to patients and oncologists, treatment goals were achieved in 30% and 37% for 'quality of life,' 49% and 41% for 'life prolongation,' 26% and 44% for 'decrease in tumor size,' and 44% for 'cure', respectively. Most patients and oncologists, in hindsight, felt they had made the right decision to start treatment even if they had not achieved their goals (72% and 93%). This was related to the feeling that they had to do 'something.' Before deciding on treatment, the treatment options, including their benefits and side effects, and the goals patients have should be discussed. To avoid undesirable responses, an increasing number of investigations are focusing on the development of isotype-selective HDAC inhibitors. In this study, we present an effective and quantitative cellular assay using high-content analysis (HCA) to determine compounds' inhibition of the activity of HDAC6 and Class I HDAC isoforms, by detecting the acetylation of their corresponding substrates (i.e., α-tubulin and histone H3). Several conditions that are critical for HCA assays, such as cell seeding number, fixation and permeabilization reagent, and antibody dilution, have been fully validated in this study. We used selective HDAC6 inhibitors and inhibitors targeting different HDAC isoforms to optimize and validate the capability of the HCA assay. The results indicated that the HCA assay is a robust assay for quantifying compounds' selectivity of HDAC6 and Class I HDAC isoforms in cells. Moreover, we screened a panel of compounds for HDAC6 selectivity using this HCA assay, which provided valuable information for the structure-activity relationship (SAR). To explore this further, we evaluated the relationships between the -617C/A (rs6721961) polymorphisms within the NRF2 promoter and diabetic nephropathy (DN) in Chinese Han patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).

The training of generalist physicians in university hospitals needs to emphasize development of their research role in order to continue improving their research capacity and their standing in academic hospitals in Japan. This cross-sectional descriptive study aimed to survey departments of general medicine (GM) in university hospitals in Japan to identify the research areas and themes pursued by academic generalist physicians.
The heads of the departments of GM from 71 university hospitals in Japan were enrolled. The main outcomes studied were the identification of the main research areas and themes in academic departments of GM, based on the classification of the National Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research (KAKENHI) clinical research, public health, preventive medicine, medical education, basic science, health services and safety and quality.
We received 47 of 71 replies (66.2% response rate). Clinical research was the most common area of research (62%), followed by public health and preventive medicine (14%), medical education (11%), and basic sciences (9%). Only one department identified health services and safety and quality as a research area (2%). There was marked variability in research areas across the different departments, with 23% of the research targeting the highest specialties, particularly organ-specific research in the fields of gastroenterology, cardiology, immunology, neurology, metabolic endocrinology, and hematology-oncology.

Profiles of gene expression in brain tissue of patients with intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) or depression were downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database. We analyzed differentially expressed genes (DEGs) for the two diseases separately. With these DEGs, we conducted an enrichment analysis based on Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) as well as cross-talk analysis, then we identified hub bridge genes using integrated bridge landscape analysis.
We found 131 DEGs for interaction between ICH and depression. In the enrichment analysis, we found 55 GO terms and KEGG pathways involving interacting genes of ICH and depression, and 10 GO terms and 10 KEGG pathways most significantly related to cross-talk between ICH and depression. The aim of this study was to determine specific risk factors promoting the development of peri- and postoperative hepatopathy after surgery for congenital heart disease. In this retrospective study, we identified 20 consecutive patients operated between 2011 and 2019 from our institutional cohort who developed significant postsurgical hepatic dysfunction. These patients were compared to a control group of 30 patients with comparable initial cardiac conditions and STS-EACTS risk score. Patients who developed hepatopathy in the intensive care unit have chronic cholestasis and decreased liver synthesis. The impact of postoperative hepatopathy on morbidity was marked. In six patients (30%), liver transplantation was executed as ultima ratio, and two (10%) were listed for liver transplantation. The overall mortality related to postoperative hepatopathy is high We found nine patients (45%) having severe hepatopathy and mostly multiple organ dysfunction who died in the postoperative course. Choroidal metastases (CM) are the most common intraocular malignancies. With longer survival rates for cancer patients, CM will be increasingly encountered. We evaluated clinical and ultrasonographic (US) characteristics of CM in order to identify diagnostic biomarkers that correlate with the primary tumor site.
The medical records of all patients with CM evaluated at the Ocular Oncology Unit between February 2010 and March 2020 were analyzed.
82 eyes of 70 patients were included. The primary cancer site was lung in 26 patients (37%), breast in 23 (33%), kidney in 9 (13%), gastrointestinal in 5 (7%), thyroid in 5 (7%), parathyroids and prostate respectively in 2 (3%). Fifty-five patients (78%) had other systemic metastases at the time of ocular diagnosis. Ten (14%) patients had no history of primary cancer. Bilateral CM were found in 20 patients (29%); fifty-six eyes (68%) had a single CM. The epicenter of CM was predominantly macula (43 eyes, 52%). The mean thickness was 4,1 mm (range 1,8-12,3). US strow internal reflectivity, whereas those from breast cancer typically present a plateau appearance and higher internal reflectivity. Though it is hard to identify the site of the primary tumor relying exclusively on clinical and US aspects, morphology and internal reflectivity can be considered as diagnostic biomarkers. While trigger warnings have garnered significant debate, few studies have investigated how students typically respond to potentially triggering material.
In this study, three hundred and fifty-five undergraduate students from four universities read a passage describing incidences of both physical and sexual assault. Longitudinal measures of subjective distress, PTSD symptoms, and emotional reactivity were taken.
Greater than 96% of participants read the triggering passage even when given a non-triggering alternative to read. Of those who read the triggering passage, those with triggering traumas did not report more distress although those with higher PTSD scores did. Two weeks later, those with trigger traumas and/or PTSD did not report an increase in trauma symptoms as a result of reading the triggering passage.

Initial work in Duroc pig models showed that regions of scar that are light or dark have equal numbers of melanocytes. This study aims to confirm melanocyte presence in regions of hypo- and hyper-pigmentation in an animal model and patient samples. In a Duroc pig model, melanocyte presence was confirmed using en face staining. Patients with dyschromic HTSs had demographic, injury details, and melanin indices collected. Punch biopsies were taken of regions of hyper-, hypo-, or normally pigmented scar and skin. Biopsies were processed to obtain epidermal sheets (ESs). A subset of ESs were en face stained with melanocyte marker, S100β. Melanocytes were isolated from a different subset. Melanocytes were treated with NDP α-MSH, a pigmentation stimulator. mRNA was isolated from cells, and was used to evaluate gene expression of melanin-synthetic genes. In patient and pig scars, regions of hyper-, hypo-, and normal pigmentation had significantly different melanin indices. S100β en face staining showed that regions of hyper- and hypo-pigmentation contained the same number of melanocytes, but these cells had different dendricity/activity. Treatment of hypo-pigmented melanocytes with NDP α-MSH produced melanin by microscopy. Melanin-synthetic genes were upregulated in treated cells over controls. While traditionally it may be thought that hypopigmented regions of burn HTS display this phenotype because of the absence of pigment-producing cells, these data show that inactive melanocytes are present in these scar regions. Further investigations are needed to reduce hepatic complications and improve the general prognosis of such complex patients. Choroidal metastases (CM) are the most common intraocular malignancies. With longer survival rates for cancer patients, CM will be increasingly encountered. We evaluated clinical and ultrasonographic (US) characteristics of CM in order to identify diagnostic biomarkers that correlate with the primary tumor site. The medical records of all patients with CM evaluated at the Ocular Oncology Unit between February 2010 and March 2020 were analyzed. 82 eyes of 70 patients were included. The primary cancer site was lung in 26 patients (37%), breast in 23 (33%), kidney in 9 (13%), gastrointestinal in 5 (7%), thyroid in 5 (7%), parathyroids and prostate respectively in 2 (3%). Fifty-five patients (78%) had other systemic metastases at the time of ocular diagnosis. Ten (14%) patients had no history of primary cancer. Bilateral CM were found in 20 patients (29%); fifty-six eyes (68%) had a single CM. The epicenter of CM was predominantly macula (43 eyes, 52%). The mean thickness was 4,1 mm (range 1,8-12,3). US strow internal reflectivity, whereas those from breast cancer typically present a plateau appearance and higher internal reflectivity. Though it is hard to identify the site of the primary tumor relying exclusively on clinical and US aspects, morphology and internal reflectivity can be considered as diagnostic biomarkers. Thus, the origin of the primary tumor can be suspected by integrating a constellation of findings. While trigger warnings have garnered significant debate, few studies have investigated how students typically respond to potentially triggering material. In this study, three hundred and fifty-five undergraduate students from four universities read a passage describing incidences of both physical and sexual assault. Longitudinal measures of subjective distress, PTSD symptoms, and emotional reactivity were taken. Greater than 96% of participants read the triggering passage even when given a non-triggering alternative to read. Of those who read the triggering passage, those with triggering traumas did not report more distress although those with higher PTSD scores did. Two weeks later, those with trigger traumas and/or PTSD did not report an increase in trauma symptoms as a result of reading the triggering passage. Initial work in Duroc pig models showed that regions of scar that are light or dark have equal numbers of melanocytes. This study aims to confirm melanocyte presence in regions of hypo- and hyper-pigmentation in an animal model and patient samples. In a Duroc pig model, melanocyte presence was confirmed using en face staining. Patients with dyschromic HTSs had demographic, injury details, and melanin indices collected. Punch biopsies were taken of regions of hyper-, hypo-, or normally pigmented scar and skin. Biopsies were processed to obtain epidermal sheets (ESs). A subset of ESs were en face stained with melanocyte marker, S100β. Melanocytes were isolated from a different subset. Melanocytes were treated with NDP α-MSH, a pigmentation stimulator. mRNA was isolated from cells, and was used to evaluate gene expression of melanin-synthetic genes. In patient and pig scars, regions of hyper-, hypo-, and normal pigmentation had significantly different melanin indices. S100β en face staining showed that regions of hyper- and hypo-pigmentation contained the same number of melanocytes, but these cells had different dendricity/activity. Treatment of hypo-pigmented melanocytes with NDP α-MSH produced melanin by microscopy. Melanin-synthetic genes were upregulated in treated cells over controls. While traditionally it may be thought that hypopigmented regions of burn HTS display this phenotype because of the absence of pigment-producing cells, these data show that inactive melanocytes are present in these scar regions. Lysosome-associated protein transmembrane 4α (LAPTM4α) is a four transmembrane-spanning protein primarily localized in endosomes and lysosomes and has several putative lysosomal targeting signals at its C-terminal cytoplasmic domain, including tyrosine-based motifs (YxxΦ) and PY motifs (L/PxxY). LAPTM4α has been previously shown to be ubiquitinated by the E3 ubiquitin ligase Nedd4-1 through binding to its PY motifs and sorted to lysosomes, however, the molecular mechanisms underlying the localization of LAPTM4α to endosomes/lysosomes have not yet been fully elucidated. In the present study, we show that LAPTM4α binds Nedd4-1 in a manner dependent on PY motifs, while the PY motifs and Nedd4-1 are not necessarily required for LAPTM4α ubiquitination. The binding of LAPTM4α with Nedd4-1, however, is necessary for an effective sorting of LAPTM4α from the Golgi to late endosomes/lysosomes. An unexpected finding is that LAPTM4α is localized in the lumen, but not in the limiting membrane, of late endosomes, and degraded in lysosomes over time. Interestingly, we further found that siRNA knockdown of endosomal sorting complexes required for transport (ESCRT) components that mediate sorting of ubiquitinated membrane proteins into intralumenal vesicles (ILVs) of endosomes selectively blocks the transport of LAPTM4α to endosomes. Collectively, these results suggest that trafficking of LAPTM4α from the Golgi to endosomes is promoted by the interaction with Nedd4-1, which further requires ESCRT components. Furthermore, our findings highlight a novel function for ESCRT proteins in mediating protein and/or vesicle trafficking from the Golgi to endosomes/lysosomes.

However, its effects on chemoresistance during ovarian cancer development remain unclear. In this study, we found that MKNK2 expression levels were markedly up-regulated in chemoresistant ovarian cancer cells compared with the sensitive cells. In addition, significantly increased expression of MKNK2 was detected in clinical ovarian cancer tissues, particularly in tumor samples from patients with drug resistance, and high MKNK2 expression is closely associated with poor prognosis. Our in vitro experiments subsequently showed that MKNK2 knockdown markedly reduced the proliferation of chemoresistant ovarian cancer cells, which was confirmed in SKOV3/DDP xenograft mouse models. Importantly, MKNK2 knockdown considerably induced autophagy in ovarian cancer cells with drug resistance, which was involved in the suppression of cell proliferation. Of note, we showed that miR-125b directly targeted MKNK2, and a negative correlation was observed between the expression of them in clinical tumor tissues. MKNK2 silence also increased miR-125b expression levels in drug-resistant ovarian cancer cells. Intriguingly, MKNK2 knockdown-suppressed cell proliferation and -induced autophagy were almost abrogated by miR-125b inhibition in chemoresistant ovarian cancer cells. However, prucalopride treatment exerted no impact on JAK2/STAT3 pathway, suggesting that prucalopride may stimulate IL-6 via JAK2/STAT3-independent pathway. In conclusion, prucalopride exerted beneficial effects in MPTP-induced Parkinson's disease **** by attenuating the loss of dopamine, improving motor dysfunction and intestinal barrier.

In addition, patients will be characterized for oral responsiveness and their psychological traits and attitudes toward food. Methods Aiming to identify potential neuronal markers that may aid in prognosis and inform interventions to optimize outcomes, this study used ICA to evaluate the presence of functional connectivity networks and their recruitment during a letter n-**** task in 23 adult survivors of childhood posterior fossa tumors (9 low grade, 14 high grade) at least 5 years past diagnosis compared with 40 age- and sex-matched healthy peers. Results DMN components generally demonstrated increasing disengagement as task difficulty increased, and relationships between effective DMN disengagement and improved performance were observed in healthy controls (HCs). Low-grade brain tumor survivors (LGS) demonstrated unique patterns in DMN recruitment that suggested increased involvemenment of default mode network components in the context of similar cognitive abilities, whereas survivors of high-grade tumors demonstrated poorer cognitive abilities and may be utilizing compensatory executive control network components in the face of challenging tasks. While pareidolias necessitate top-down modulation of visual processing, the cortical dynamics of internally generated perceptual priors on these visual misperceptions is unknown. Objectives To study pre-stimulus related EEG spectral and network abnormalities in PD patients experiencing pareidolias. Methods 21 PD in-patients and 10 age-matched healthy controls were evaluated. Neuropsychological assessments included tests for cognition, attention and executive functions. To evoke and quantify pareidolias, participants performed the noise pareidolia test (NPT) with simultaneous EEG recording. PD patients were sub-divided into two groups - those with high pareidolia counts (N=10) and those without (N=11). EEG was analyzed 1000ms before stimulus presentation in the spectral domain (theta, low-alpha and high-alpha frequencies) with corresponding graph networks that evaluated small-world properties, efficiency and centrality measures.

Taste and odor responsiveness, food preferences and habits, emotions elicited by foods, and quality of life will be measured at six-time points before chemotherapy (T0), after two cycles (T1, after around 1 month), after four cycles (T2, after around 2 months), after six cycles (T3, after around 4 months), at the end of chemotherapy (T4, after around 6 months) and 3 months after the conclusion of the therapy (T5). In addition, patients will be characterized for oral responsiveness and their psychological traits and attitudes toward food. The ALTERTASTE trial is expected to improve the understanding of the impact of chemotherapy on taste and smell and the repercussions of these alterations on food behaviors. Furthermore, the trial aims to develop an easy and reliable procedure to test smell, taste and food behavior alterations to allow a routine measure with patients. Psychological factors such as depression, pain catastrophizing, kinesiophobia, pain anxiety, and more negative illness perceptions are associated with worse pain and function in patients at the start of treatment for de Quervain's tenosynovitis. Longitudinal studies have found symptoms of depression and pain catastrophizing at baseline were associated with worse pain after treatment. It is important to study patients opting for surgery for their condition because patients should choose surgical treatment based on their values rather than misconceptions. However, the occurrence of HO after oncologic prostheses implantation can be troublesome as it may mimic a locally recurrent tumor. Because this distinction could have a profound impact on the surgeon and patient, it is important to distinguish the two entities; to our knowledge, no study has evaluated this after oncologic endoprosthetic reconstruction around the knee after tumor resection.

Periacetabular osteotomy (PAO) increases acetabular coverage of the femoral head and medializes the hip's center, restoring normal joint biomechanics. Past studies have reported data regarding the degree of medialization achieved by PAO, but measurement of medialization has never been validated through a comparison of imaging modalities or measurement techniques. The anterior inferior iliac spine (AIIS) prominence is increasingly recognized in the setting of femoroacetabular impingement (FAI). The AIIS prominence may contribute to decreased hip flexion after acetabular reorientation in patients with acetabular dysplasia. AIIS morphologies have been characterized in numerous populations including asymptomatic, FAI, and athletic populations, but the morphology of the AIIS in patients with symptomatic acetabular dysplasia undergoing periacetabular osteotomy (PAO) has not been studied. Sexual minority women are more likely to drink alcohol, engage in heavy drinking, and experience alcohol-related problems than heterosexual women. However, culturally tailored interventions for this population have been slow to emerge.
This type 1 effectiveness-implementation trial examines the feasibility and efficacy of a gamified, culturally tailored, personalized normative feedback (PNF) alcohol intervention for sexual minority women who psychologically identify as lesbian, bisexual, or queer (LBQ).
The core components of a PNF intervention were delivered within LezParlay, a fun, social media-inspired, digital competition designed to challenge negative stereotypes about LBQ women and increase visibility. The competition was advertised on the web through social media platforms and collaboration with LBQ community organizations. After 2 rounds of play by a large cohort of LBQ women, a subsample of 500 drinkers already taking part in the competition were invited to participate in the evaluation study. Study participants were randomized to receive 1 of 3 unique sequences of PNF (ie, alcohol and stigma coping, alcohol and control, or control topics only) over 2 intervention rounds.

This type 1 effectiveness-implementation trial examines the feasibility and efficacy of a gamified, culturally tailored, personalized normative feedback (PNF) alcohol intervention for sexual minority women who psychologically identify as lesbian, bisexual, or queer (LBQ). The core components of a PNF intervention were delivered within LezParlay, a fun, social media-inspired, digital competition designed to challenge negative stereotypes about LBQ women and increase visibility.
