These assays demonstrated drug release from the polymer pro-drugs, when in PLGA/PEG matrices of two formulations, over clinically relevant time scales. Plasma glucose, IL-6, TNF-α, BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor that has anti-diabetic actions), LXA4 (lipoxin A4), and RVD1 levels and BDNF concentrations in the pancreas, liver, and brain tissues were measured. Apoptotic (Bcl2/Bax), inflammatory (COX-1/COX-2/Nf-κb/iNOS/PPAR-γ) genes and downstream insulin signaling proteins (Gsk-3β/Foxo1) were measured in the pancreatic tissue along with concentrations of various antioxidants and lipid peroxides. In this paper, we propose an integrated approach for predicting when calving will occur by combining behavioral activities extracted from recorded video sequences with a Hidden Markov Model. Specifically, two sub-systems comprise our proposed system (i) Behaviors extraction such as lying, standing, number of changing positions between lying down and standing up, and other significant activities, such as holding up the tail, and turning the head to the side; and, (ii) using an integrated Hidden Markov Model to predict when calving will occur. The experiments using our proposed system were conducted at a large dairy farm in Oita Prefecture in Japan. Experimental results show that the proposed method has promise in practical applications. In particular, we found that the high frequency of posture changes has played a central role in accurately predicting the time of calving.Two families of glasses in the Li2O-Al2O3-B2O3-TiO2-P2O5 system were prepared via two different synthesis routes melt-quenching and ball-milling. Subsequently, they were submitted to crystallization and yielded the Li1.3Al0.3Ti1.7(PO4)3 (LATP)-based glass-ceramics. Glasses and corresponding glass-ceramics were studied by complementary X-ray diffraction (XRD) and 27Al, 31P, 7Li, 11B magic-angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance (MAS NMR) methods in order to compare their structure and phase composition and elucidate the impact of boron additive on their glass-forming properties and crystallization process. XRD studies show that the addition of B2O3 improves the glass-forming properties of glasses prepared by either method and inhibits the precipitation of unwanted phases during heat treatment. MAS NMR studies allowed us to distinguish two LATP phases of slightly different chemical composition suggesting that LATP grains might not be homogeneous. In conclusion, the crystallization of boron-incorporated LATP glasses can is an effective way of obtaining LATP-based solid state electrolytes for the next generation of lithium-ion batteries provided the proper heat-treatment conditions are chosen.

Previous review studies have not systematically mapped the existing body of knowledge on adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASRH) in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). Our scoping review addresses this gap by examining how the body of research on ASRH in SSA has evolved over the past decade, and its present profile, in terms of trends in volume, geographic and substantive focus, and Africa-led inquiry.
We used a three-step search strategy to identify English and French peer-reviewed publications and relevant grey literature on ASRH in SSA published between January 2010 and December 2019. Two reviewers screened the titles, abstracts and full texts of publications for eligibility and inclusion.
A total of 1302 articles were published over the period, rising from 91 in 2010 to 183 in 2015. However, the bulk of the studies (63.9%) focused on six (South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda and Ethiopia) of the 46 SSA countries. Ten countries had no ASRH papers, while five others each had only one publicatvenly distributed across SSA countries. The identified gaps can guide future research and funding to advance ASRH policies and programmes. It is also vital for stakeholders in the research enterprise, including researchers, donors, ethical review boards, and journal editors and reviewers, to implement measures that foster national investigators' inclusion.
This systematic review critically evaluated peer-reviewed publications describing morphological features consistent with, or using terms related to, a 'neuroma' or 'microneuroma' in the human cornea using laser-scanning in vivo confocal microscopy (IVCM).
The review was prospectively registered on PROSPERO (CRD42020160038). Comprehensive literature searches were performed in Ovid MEDLINE, Ovid Embase and the Cochrane Library in November 2019. The review included primary research studies and reviews that described laser-scanning IVCM for examining human corneal nerves. Papers had to include at least one of a pre-specified set of keyword stems, broadly related to neuromas and microneuromas, to describe a corneal nerve feature.
Twenty-five papers (20 original studies; 5 reviews) were eligible. Three original studies evaluated corneal nerve features in healthy eyes. Most papers assessed corneal nerves in ocular and systemic conditions; seven studies did not include a control/comparator group. There was overlap in terminology used to describe nerve features in healthy and diseased corneas (eg, bulb-like/bulbous, penetration, end/s/ing). Inspection of IVCM images within the papers revealed that features termed 'neuromas' and 'microneuromas' could potentially be physiological corneal stromal-epithelial nerve penetration sites. We identified inconsistent definitions for terms, and limitations in IVCM image acquisition, sampling and/or reporting that may introduce bias and lead to inaccurate representation of physiological nerve characteristics as pathological.
These findings identify a need for consistent nomenclature and definitions, and rigorous IVCM scanning and analysis protocols to clarify the prevalence of physiological, as opposed to pathological, corneal nerve features.

Diagnostic reasoning in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a complex process reflecting the probability of disease at a given timepoint against competing diagnoses. We applied machine learning in well-characterised patient data sets to develop an algorithm that can aid SLE diagnosis.
From a discovery cohort of randomly selected 802 adults with SLE or control rheumatologic diseases, clinically selected panels of deconvoluted classification criteria and non-criteria features were analysed. Feature selection and model construction were done with Random Forests and Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator-logistic regression (LASSO-LR). The best model in 10-fold cross-validation was tested in a validation cohort (512 SLE, 143 disease controls).
A novel LASSO-LR model had the best performance and included 14 variably weighed features with thrombocytopenia/haemolytic anaemia, malar/maculopapular rash, proteinuria, low C3 and C4, antinuclear antibodies (ANA) and immunologic disorder being the stronge and treatment to improve patient outcomes.
In patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), high disease activity impairs fertility outcomes and increases the risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes. The aim of this study was to determine the feasibility of a modern treatment approach, including treat-to-target (T2T) and the prescription of tumour necrosis factor (TNF) inhibitors, in patients with RA with a wish to conceive or who are pregnant.
Patients were derived from the Preconception Counseling in Active RA (PreCARA) cohort. Patients with a wish to conceive or who are pregnant were treated according to a modified T2T approach, in which the obvious restrictions of pregnancy were taken into account. Cellular heterogeneity and the lack of metastatic biomarkers limit the diagnosis of and development of therapies for metastatic triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). Thus, development of new clinically relevant markers is urgently needed. By using RNA-seq analysis, we found that nerve growth factor receptor (NGFR) was highly expressed in metastatic lung clones of MDA-MB-231 cells. This high level of NGFR expression was necessary for TNBC cells to grow into tumor spheres under nonadhesive conditions, resist anoikis, promote primary tumor growth and increase metastasis in ****. NGFR was also expressed at a high level in a greater number of TNBC patients (45%) than non-TNBC patients (23%), enriched in higher grade tumors, and negatively correlated with the overall survival of TNBC patients. Mechanistic analysis indicated that NGFR exerted its prometastatic effects by binding with neurotrophic receptor tyrosine kinase 3 (TrkC) mainly through a ligand-independent manner, which activated the MEK-ERK1-ZEB1 and PI3K-AKT signaling pathways, increased the level of fibronectin, and decreased the expression of PUMA. Understanding retinal cell metabolism and how it is altered in disease has been identified as a priority area of research. The focus of this review is on the recent advances in the understanding of PR metabolism and how it is critical to reduction-oxidation (redox) balance, the outer retinal metabolic ecosystem, and retinal disease. The smartphone SDMT showed comparable psychometric properties in 154 multiple sclerosis (MS) patients and 39 healthy volunteers (HV). E.g., smartphone SDMT achieved slightly higher correlations with cognitive subscores of neurological examinations and with brain injury measured by MRI (R2 = 0.75, Rho = 0.83, p less then 0.0001) than traditional SDMT. Mathematical adjustment for motoric disability of the dominant hand, measured by another smartphone test, compensates for the disadvantage of touch-based test. Cellular heterogeneity and the lack of metastatic biomarkers limit the diagnosis of and development of therapies for metastatic triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). Thus, development of new clinically relevant markers is urgently needed. By using RNA-seq analysis, we found that nerve growth factor receptor (NGFR) was highly expressed in metastatic lung clones of MDA-MB-231 cells. This high level of NGFR expression was necessary for TNBC cells to grow into tumor spheres under nonadhesive conditions, resist anoikis, promote primary tumor growth and increase metastasis in mice. NGFR was also expressed at a high level in a greater number of TNBC patients (45%) than non-TNBC patients (23%), enriched in higher grade tumors, and negatively correlated with the overall survival of TNBC patients. Mechanistic analysis indicated that NGFR exerted its prometastatic effects by binding with neurotrophic receptor tyrosine kinase 3 (TrkC) mainly through a ligand-independent manner, which activated the MEK-ERK1-ZEB1 and PI3K-AKT signaling pathways, increased the level of fibronectin, and decreased the expression of PUMA. Pediatric sternal dislocation is an extremely rare event, with less than 15 cases reported in the literature. We report the case of a traumatic sternal segment dislocation in an 8-year-old male that was caused by an unsuccessful backflip resulting in a direct force to the chest. The diagnosis was made by chest computed tomography. Open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) were performed with a good outcome noted at follow-up. In addition to a thorough description of this case, we have included an organized review of existing literature with an aim to establish trends in presentation, clinical course, and outcomes among sternal dislocation in the pediatric population.Pasteurella multocida (P. multocida) is a gram-negative, facultative anaerobe, and it is most commonly found in the oropharynx of healthy domestic animals, especially cats and dogs. P. multocida is classified as an opportunistic pathogen, infecting individuals only through direct contact via local trauma caused by animal bites or scratches. More serious infections, while rare, are typically associated with immunocompromised states, known pre-existing cavitary lung pathology, or malignancy. In this report, we present a case of P. multocida infection without known trauma, which had likely spread via respiratory droplets causing bacteremia, septic shock, and subsequent septic arthritis of the left knee.Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS) is a life-threatening acute and fatal dermatological disease. On oral examination, oral rash and blisters were observed. On examination there was an expansive lesion of the left hemipelvis that had been present since birth; it was determined to be a characteristic of polyostotic fibrous dysplasia seen in MAS. Lab results revealed an elevated parathyroid hormone-related protein (PTHrP) and a chest X-ray (CXR) displayed masses in the right upper lobe. Computed tomography (CT)-guided lung biopsy confirmed the masses to be SCC of the lung. This case primarily highlights the importance of investigating other malignancies found in patients with MAS. Current literature shows that the GNAS mutation is an oncogenic driver in many tumor types such as pancreatic adenocarcinoma, adrenocortical carcinoma, and thyroid carcinoma; however, current data are limited on the role of GNAS mutations in SCC of the lung. The author presents a case of epithelioid sarcoma in the finger of a young patient with subsequent recurrence after surgery and a review of current literature pertaining to this aggressive tumor. This report would like to stress the importance of a multimodal approach in combatting this tumor as prompt diagnosis and aggressive therapy can significantly reduce the poor outcomes associated with this disease.

Thalassemia is an inherited disease associated with thromboembolic events (TEE) and cerebral artery disease. Here, we report a patient with beta-thalassemia presenting with intracerebral hemorrhage due to cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST), and intracranial aneurysms were found after examination. We believe that it is very rare for this patient to have two kinds of cerebrovascular diseases.

The mass exhibited a pattern of early enhancement and washout on contrast-enhanced CT. Alpha-fetoprotein was 614.1 ng/mL (normal value, <8 ng/mL). The preoperative diagnosis was HCC with IVCTT.

Thalassemia is an inherited disease associated with thromboembolic events (TEE) and cerebral artery disease. Here, we report a patient with beta-thalassemia presenting with intracerebral hemorrhage due to cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST), and intracranial aneurysms were found after examination. We believe that it is very rare for this patient to have two kinds of cerebrovascular diseases. A 25-year-old woman suffered from headache for nine days. She had a history of thalassemia and splenectomy nine years prior. Intracranial hemorrhage, Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis, Intracranial aneurysm and double heterozygous beta-thalassemia major. The patient was treated with low-molecular-weight heparin sodium injection (4100IU sc q12 h) and then switched to warfarin after four days of overlap with low-molecular-weight heparin sodium injection. Here, we propose a hierarchical recurrent model grounded on the hypothesis that neurons in the dorsal stream provide the context required for ownership assignment. Our proposed model incorporates early recurrence from the dorsal pathway as well as lateral modulations within the ventral stream. While dorsal modulations initiate the response difference to figure on either side of the border, lateral modulations enhance the difference. We found responses of our dorsally-modulated BO cells, similar to their biological counterparts, are invariant to size, position and solid/outlined figures. Moreover, our model BO cells exhibit comparable levels of reliability in the ownership signal to biological BO neurons. We found dorsal modulations result in high levels of accuracy and robustness for BO assignments in complex scenes compared to previous models based on ventral feedback. We reviewed the Program's subsequent clinical experience with PCA, and its potential for clarifying this relatively rare syndrome in comparison to the accumulated literature on PCA.
Using the original criteria derived from this clinic, 65 patients with neuroimaging-supported PCA were diagnosed between 1995 and 2020.
On presentation, most had visual localization complaints and related visuospatial symptoms, but nearly half had memory complaints followed by symptoms of depression. Neurobehavioral testing showed predominant difficulty with visuospatial constructions, Gerstmann's syndrome, and Balint's syndrome, but also impaired memory and naming. On retrospective application of the current Consensus Criteria for PCA, 59 (91%) met PCA criteria with a modification allowing for "significantly greater visuospatial over memory and naming deficits." There were 37 deaths (56.9%) with the median overall survival of 10.3 years (95% CI 9.6-13.6 years), consistent with a slow neurodegenerative disorder in most patients.
Together, these findings recommend modifying the PCA criteria for "relatively spared" memory, language, and behavior to include secondary memory and naming difficulty and depression, with increased emphasis on the presence of Gerstmann's and Balint's syndromes.

Several studies showed that life course adiposity was associated with Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, the underlying causality remains unclear.
We aimed to examine the causal relationship between life course adiposity and AD using Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis.
Instrumental variants were obtained from large genome-wide association studies (GWAS) for life course adiposity, including birth weight (BW), childhood body mass index (BMI), adult BMI, waist circumference (WC), waist-to-hip ratio (WHR), and body fat percentage (BFP). A meta-analysis of GWAS for AD including 71,880 cases and 383,378 controls was used in this study. MR analyses were performed using inverse variance weighted (IVW), weighted median, and MR-Egger regression methods. We calculated odds ratios (ORs) per genetically predicted standard deviation (1-SD) unit increase in each trait for AD.
Genetically predicted 1-SD increase in adult BMI was significantly associated with higher risk of AD (IVW OR = 1.03, 95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.01-1.05, p = 2.7×10-3) after Bonferroni correction. The weighted median method indicated a significant association between BW and AD (OR = 0.94, 95% CI = 0.90-0.98, p = 1.8×10-3). We also found suggestive associations of AD with WC (IVW OR = 1.03, 95% CI = 1.00-1.07, p = 0.048) and WHR (weighted median OR = 1.04, 95% CI = 1.00-1.07, p = 0.029). No association was detected of AD with childhood BMI and BFP.

Late-life cognitive function is heterogeneous, ranging from no decline to severe dementia. Prior studies of cognitive trajectories have tended to focus on a single measure of global cognition or individual tests scores, rather than considering longitudinal performance on multiple tests simultaneously.

Neurobehavioral testing showed predominant difficulty with visuospatial constructions, Gerstmann's syndrome, and Balint's syndrome, but also impaired memory and naming. On retrospective application of the current Consensus Criteria for PCA, 59 (91%) met PCA criteria with a modification allowing for "significantly greater visuospatial over memory and naming deficits." There were 37 deaths (56.9%) with the median overall survival of 10.3 years (95% CI 9.6-13.6 years), consistent with a slow neurodegenerative disorder in most patients. Several studies showed that life course adiposity was associated with Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, the underlying causality remains unclear. We aimed to examine the causal relationship between life course adiposity and AD using Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis. Instrumental variants were obtained from large genome-wide association studies (GWAS) for life course adiposity, including birth weight (BW), childhood body mass index (BMI), adult BMI, waist circumference (WC), waist-to-hip ratio (WHR), and body fat percentage (BFP). A meta-analysis of GWAS for AD including 71,880 cases and 383,378 controls was used in this study. MR analyses were performed using inverse variance weighted (IVW), weighted median, and MR-Egger regression methods. We calculated odds ratios (ORs) per genetically predicted standard deviation (1-SD) unit increase in each trait for AD. Genetically predicted 1-SD increase in adult BMI was significantly associated with higher risk of AD (IVW OR = 1.03, 95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.01-1.05, p = 2.7×10-3) after Bonferroni correction. The weighted median method indicated a significant association between BW and AD (OR = 0.94, 95% CI = 0.90-0.98, p = 1.8×10-3). To analyze the risk factors of a peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC)-related venous thrombosis in patients with breast cancer undergoing chemotherapy and explore its preventive measures.
Data of 780 patients with breast cancer who underwent PICC chemotherapy in our hospital from January 2014 to June 2015 were retrospectively analyzed. The incidence of catheter-related thrombosis was observed, and related factors of venous thrombosis were analyzed.
Among the 780 patients with breast cancer, 36 developed PICC-related venous thrombosis. The incidence of which was 4.62% (36/780). The PICC retention time ranged between 60 and 136 days, and the median time was 92 days. Thrombosis was found to occur within seven days after catheterization in three patients (8.33%), between 7 and 30 days in 18 patients (50%), between 31 and 92 days in 12 patients (33.3%), and ≥92 days in three patients (8.33%). Basilic vein puncture-induced thrombosis occurred in 25 patients (3.68%), and median cubital vein and cephalic vein puncture-induced thrombosis occurred in 11 patients (10.78%). The difference was statistically significant (P = 0.001). Thrombosis was not associated with age, punctured limb, platelet count, or chemotherapy drugs (P > 0.05).

Based on the admission data, we applied the XGBoost algorithm to create a prediction model to estimate the AKI risk in patients with hepatobiliary malignancies and then compare its prediction capacity with the logistic model.

The vitamin D receptor (VDR) has been investigated in many studies in correlation with bone metabolism, osteoporosis, and the impaired bone mineral density associated with certain polymorphisms of the VDR gene.
This study aims to observe whether there is an association between clinical features, phospho-calcium metabolism parameters and the VDR gene polymorphisms in patients with MPS.
We evaluated six patients with MPS type I, 20 patients with MPS type II, two patients with MPS types IIIA and IIIB and three patients with MPS type IVB. In these patients, phospho-calcium metabolism, markers of bone formation, bone radiographs and bone densitometry were evaluated, as were four polymorphisms of the VDR gene (ApaI, BsmI, FokI and TaqI).

Rosuvastatin (0.3 µmol/mL) and LPS were cultured with primary rat alveolar type II epithelial cells for 8 h.
Rosuvastatin obviously improved AFC and attenuated lung-tissue damage in ALI model. Moreover, it enhanced AFC by increasing sodium channel and Na,K-ATPase protein expression. It also up-regulated P-Akt via reducing Nedd4-2 in vivo and in vitro. Furthermore, LY294002 blocked the increase in AFC in response to rosuvastatin. Rosuvastatin-induced AFC was found to be partly rely on sodium channel and Na,K-ATPase expression via the PI3K/AKT/Nedd4-2 pathway.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the second leading cause of death of malignant tumors worldwide. Recent studies point to a role for the adiponectin-receptor axis in colorectal carcinogenesis, and in particular to the oncosuppressive properties of the T-cadherin receptor. In addition, the loss of T-cadherin expression in tumor tissues has been linked to cancer progression and attributed to aberrant methylation of its promoter. Recognizing the pivotal role of microRNAs in CRC, this study explores their possible contribution to the downregulation of T-cadherin. A systematic bioinformatics analysis, restricted by microRNA expression data in the colon or in cultured colorectal cell lines, predicted twelve top-ranking target miRNA sites within the 3' UTR of T-cadherin. Experimental validation analyses based on luciferase reporter constructs and miRNA mimic or miRNA inhibitor transfections toward colorectal adenocarcinoma cell lines indicated that miR-377-3p was able to directly bind to the T-cadherin sequence, and thus downregulating its expression. Behavioral abnormalities were quantitatively observed in lgl flies but were found normalized among melatonin-treated lgl flies. Significantly decreased levels of lipid peroxidation products and antioxidants involved in redox homeostasis were observed in hemolymph and tissues of lgl flies, but had restored close to normalcy in melatonin-treated flies. Carbohydrates including glucose, trehalose, and glycogen were decreased and increased in the hemolymph and tissues of lgl and melatonin-treated lgl flies, respectively. Key enzymes of carbohydrate metabolism showed a significant increment in their levels in lgl mutants but had restored close to wild-type baseline levels in melatonin-treated flies. Variables of lipid metabolism showed significantly inverse levels in hemolymph and tissues of lgl flies, while normalization of most of these variables was observed in melatonin-treated mutants. Lipase, chitinase, transaminases, and alkaline phosphatase showed an increment in their activities and minerals exhibited decrement in lgl flies; reversal of changes was observed under melatonin treatment. Ultimately, 3 main goals were achieved 1) the geo-referenced estimation of API concentrations in surface water using the geography-referenced regional exposure assessment tool for European rivers; 2) the derivation of new predicted-no-effect concentrations for 7 of the studied APIs, of which 3 were lower than previously derived values; and 3) the creation of detailed spatially explicit ecological risk profiles of APIs under 2 distinct water flow scenarios. Key enzymes of carbohydrate metabolism showed a significant increment in their levels in lgl mutants but had restored close to wild-type baseline levels in melatonin-treated flies. Ultimately, 3 main goals were achieved 1) the geo-referenced estimation of API concentrations in surface water using the geography-referenced regional exposure assessment tool for European rivers; 2) the derivation of new predicted-no-effect concentrations for 7 of the studied APIs, of which 3 were lower than previously derived values; and 3) the creation of detailed spatially explicit ecological risk profiles of APIs under 2 distinct water flow scenarios. Under average flow conditions, carbamazepine, diclofenac, and 17α-ethinylestradiol were systematically estimated to surpass safe ecological concentration thresholds in at least 68% of the catchment's water volume. Ischemic steal syndrome (ISS) secondary to an arteriovenous fistula (AVF) in the lower extremity (LE) is a rare occurrence. Herein, we report a case of symptomatic ISS in an adult male due to an iatrogenic AVF in the left LE, which was surgically repaired by placing an arterial stent across the acquired AVF of the peroneal artery to the peroneal vein.Water diffusion anisotropy in the human brain is affected by disease, trauma, and development. Microscopic fractional anisotropy (μFA) is a diffusion MRI (dMRI) metric that can quantify water diffusion anisotropy independent of neuron fiber orientation dispersion. However, there are several different techniques to estimate μFA and few have demonstrated full brain imaging capabilities within clinically viable scan times and resolutions. Here, we present an optimized spherical tensor encoding (STE) technique to acquire μFA directly from the 2nd order cumulant expansion of the powder averaged dMRI signal obtained from direct linear regression (i.e. diffusion kurtosis) which requires fewer powder-averaged signals than other STE fitting techniques and can be rapidly computed. We found that the optimal dMRI parameters for white matter μFA imaging were a maximum b-value of 2000 s/mm2 and a ratio of STE to LTE tensor encoded acquisitions of 1.7 for our system specifications. We then compared two implementations of the direct regression approach to the well-established gamma model in 4 healthy volunteers on a 3 Tesla system. One implementation used mean diffusivity (D) obtained from a 2nd order fit of the cumulant expansion, while the other used a linear estimation of D from the low b-values. Both implementations of the direct regression approach showed strong linear correlations with the gamma model (ρ = 0.97 and ρ = 0.90) but mean biases of -0.11 and - 0.02 relative to the gamma model were also observed, respectively. All three μFA measurements showed good test-retest reliability (ρ ≥ 0.79 and bias = 0). To demonstrate the potential scan time advantage of the direct approach, 2 mm isotropic resolution μFA was demonstrated over a 10 cm slab using a subsampled data set with fewer powder-averaged signals that would correspond to a 3.3-min scan. Accordingly, our results introduce an optimization procedure that has enabled nearly full brain μFA in only several minutes.

This study aimed to trace the anti-thrombotic active compounds of DRR and different degrees of processed RR (PRR) and to evaluate the synergistic effects among different active components.
The anti-thrombotic active chemical fraction of DRR extracts was evaluated. Targeted fractions of the processed products of RR were prepared at different processing stages. The changes in monosaccharides, oligosaccharides and secondary metabolites during processing were characterized by multidimensional high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The anti-thrombotic effects of targeted fractions of different RR samples were evaluccharide components of stachyose, raffinose and sucrose, iridoid glycosides components of catalpol, leonuride and melittoside. The two kinds of components exert synergistic anti-thrombotic effects by inhibiting the expression of inflammatory factors and regulating the balance of the fibrinolysis system.
