OBJECTIVE To analyze the association between heart-focused anxiety, depressive symptoms, health behaviors and healthcare utilization in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD). Elicitation altered the antioxidative metabolism of broccoli SCC, which displayed biochemical changes in antioxidant enzymes, a decrease in the glutathione redox state and an increase in lipid peroxidation levels. Furthermore, we studied the effect of elicitation on the protein profile and observed an induction of defence-related proteins. All of these findings suggest that elicitation not only increases bioactive compound production, but it also leads to mild oxidative stress in broccoli SCC that could be an important factor triggering the production of these compounds. Canine babesiosis is an important global tick-borne infectious disease of domestic dogs and wild canids. B. gibsoni and B. vogeli are the most widespread species mainly endemic in dog population in southern and eastern regions of China. In this study, 272 blood samples were collected from pet dogs in five districts of Shenzhen, China. Babesia DNA was detected in 30 samples with an overall prevalence of 11.0 % in pet dogs in Shenzhen. The difference in the positive rate between female and male pet dogs, among different breed, and among the five sampling sites was not significant, while the age and health status of pet dogs significantly influence the positive rate of Babesia spp. infection. Sequencing results showed the presence of only B. vogeli in all of the samples tested. Sequence comparison and phylogenetic analysis revealed that all 30 strains of Babesia identified in this study shared the highest identity with B. vogeli. In sum, all results of this study showed a considerable high infection rate of Babesia spp. in pet dogs, and B. vogeli was the only Babesia species infecting pet dogs in Shenzhen city. Such information is necessary to help to elucidate the epidemiology of canine babesiosis in Shenzhen, and it is necessary to actively monitor this disease in pet dogs. The increased use of sunscreens and other cosmetics containing UV filters causes human and environmental burden. Avobenzone is a widely used UV filter. In its pure form it is known to undergo several transformations including photo-isomerisation, photodegradation, and halogenation. Over 60 disinfection by-products were identified as transformation products of avobenzone in different disinfection reactions of chlorination and bromination in fresh and seawater. Two occasional samples of swimming pool water demonstrated the presence of some of these by-products at noticeable levels as judged by GC-MS peak areas. Although the toxicity of the majority of these products remain unknown, chlorinated phenols and acetophenones are known to be rather toxic. Aquatic bromination of avobenzone resulted in the identification of 33 disinfection by-products (DBPs). Many of them contain bromine in the molecular structure. Addition of copper salt slightly decreases conversion rate simultaneously increasing the levels of major brominated products. Photostability of 3 commercial sunscreen products (solar protection factor 30) containing avobenzone was studied under different experimental conditions including UVA/UVB, UVC photostimulation and chlorination. The commercial sunscreen products have completely different enhancing and inhibitory effect on avobenzone degradation under UVC light. The complex composition of commercial products caused also a protective shield in case of chlorinated solutions of commercial formulations exposed to chlorine and UVA/UVB light at the same time.

Whilst there is broad consensus that COVID-19 has had a pernicious impact on child welfare services, in general, and child welfare workers, specifically, this notion has not been thoroughly examined in the literature. This exploratory study examined COVID-19 related peritraumatic distress among child welfare workers (N = 1996) in one southeastern state in the United States (U.S.). Findings suggest that the study sample was experiencing distress levels above normal ranges; 46.4% of participants were experiencing mild or severe distress. Sexual orientation, self-reported physical and mental health, relationship status, supervision status, and financial stability impacted distress levels experienced by child welfare workers. Overall, data suggest that COVID-19 is impacting child welfare workers and there is a need to conceptualize, implement, and evaluate initiatives aimed at assuaging distress among child welfare workers.Knowledge of child victimization among school staff is believed to affect the detection and reporting of potential cases in the school environment, but the current evidence is scarce and contradictory. We assessed the link between knowledge of victimization and other relevant reporter characteristics in detecting and reporting children suspected to be victims of violence in a sample of 184 school staff members from Spain (84.02% females, M = 43.40, SD = 10.37). We compared participants who had never detected nor reported any cases (i.e., non-detectors) with participants who had detected but not reported outside school (i.e., inconsistent reporters) and participants who had detected and reported at least one potential case (i.e., consistent reporters). Knowledge about the reporting procedures varied significantly across groups. Years of experience was the only variable to significantly predict having detected at least one case across job experience. Knowing whether a report can be made anonymously or without the principal's consent was significant to predict the likelihood of being a consistent reporter, along with hours spent daily in contact with students. Trainings for school staff should be aware of what specific aspects of knowledge tend to increase detection and reporting. Interventions should include more specific guidelines and ways of recreating experience (e.g., role-playing, virtual scenarios) as an effective strategy to respond to cases of potential victimization encountered at school.Throughout the covid-19 emergency, health authorities have presented contagion data divided by administrative regions with no reference to the type of landscape, environment or development model. This study has been conducted to understand whether there is a correlation between the number of infections and the different rural landscapes of the country. The result is statistically significant, after controlling for demographic, economic and environmental characteristics of the provinces. The pollution produced in more energy-intensive landscape has triggered an intense debate of how to ensure the economic competitiveness of Italian agriculture, without compromising environmental integrity or public health. Our findings speak to this debate, by suggesting that planning for more rural territory with lower energy inputs may come with the added benefit of new development opportunities and decreasing the exposure of the population to covid-19. Cost benefit-analyses should take into account that policies aimed at revitalizing more rural areas may reduce the economic impact of covid-19 and of potential future pandemics.Single-column (batch) preparative chromatography is the technique of choice for purification of biotherapeutics but it is often characterized by an intrinsic limitation in terms of yield-purity trade-off, especially for separations containing a larger number of product-related impurities. This drawback can be alleviated by employing multicolumn continuous chromatography. Among the different methods working in continuous mode, in this paper we will focus in particular on Multicolumn Countercurrent Solvent Gradient Purification (MCSGP) which has been specifically designed for challenging separations of target biomolecules from their product-related impurities. The improvements come from the automatic internal recycling of the impure fractions inside the chromatographic system, which results in an increased yield without compromising the purity of the pool. In this article, steps of the manufacturing process of biopharmaceuticals will be described, as well as the advantages of continuous chromatography over batch processes, by particularly focusing on MCSGP.The main financial markets in the Iranian Economy include the stock exchange, foreign exchange, oil, and gold markets. The sharp fluctuations in these markets, especially those caused by the severe sanctions imposed on Iran in May 2018, and the pandemic outbreak of Covid-19 have led to more confusion and uncertainty among investors. One of the effective approaches to examine such unstable conditions is to study the co-movement(s) between markets to identify the leading variable(s). Thus, in the present study, Wavelet Coherence Analysis was applied to examine the co-movements between markets in a time period from September 2014 to June 2020, as an intense period of uncertainty in Iran. In other words, in this study, the markets were investigated in different sub-periods. Also, the Segmented Regression was performed to estimate the impact of sanctions and the Covid-19 pandemic on the co-movements of financial markets in Iran. The results showed that the oil price had a low co-movement with the other three markets, i.

In carrying out their immune functions, CRISPR-Cas systems heavily rely on RNA components. These CRISPR (cr) RNAs are repeat-spacer units that are produced by processing of pre-crRNA, the transcript of CRISPR arrays, and guide Cas protein(s) to the cognate invading nucleic acids, enabling their destruction. Several bioinformatics tools have been developed to detect CRISPR arrays based solely on DNA sequences, but all these tools employ the same strategy of looking for repetitive patterns, which might correspond to CRISPR array repeats. The identified patterns are evaluated using a fixed, built-in scoring function, and arrays exceeding a cut-off value are reported. Here, we instead introduce a data-driven approach that uses machine learning to detect and differentiate true CRISPR arrays from false ones based on several features. Our CRISPR detection tool, CRISPRidentify, performs three steps detection, feature extraction and classification based on manually curated sets of positive and negative examples of CRISPR arrays. The identified CRISPR arrays are then reported to the user accompanied by detailed annotation. We demonstrate that our approach identifies not only previously detected CRISPR arrays, but also CRISPR array candidates not detected by other tools. Compared to other methods, our tool has a drastically reduced false positive rate. In contrast to the existing tools, our approach not only provides the user with the basic statistics on the identified CRISPR arrays but also produces a certainty score as a practical measure of the likelihood that a given genomic region is a CRISPR array.
Osteoarthritis is a common degenerative musculoskeletal disease of synovial joints. It is characterized by a metabolic imbalance resulting in articular cartilage degradation, reduced elastoviscosity of synovial fluid and an altered chondrocyte phenotype. This is often associated with reduced mobility, pain and poor quality of life. Subsequently, with an ageing world population, osteoarthritis is of increasing concern to public health. Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy can be applied to characterize the metabolomes of biofluids, determining changes associated with osteoarthritis pathology, identifying potential biomarkers of disease and alterations to metabolic pathways.
A comprehensive search of PubMed and Web of Science databases using combinations of the following keywords 'NMR Spectroscopy', 'Blood', 'Plasma', 'Serum', 'Urine', 'Synovial Fluid' and 'Osteoarthritis' for articles published from 2000 to 2020.
The number of urine metabolomics studies using NMR spectroscopy to investigate osteeoarthritis phenotypes, and larger group sizes ensuring studies are not underpowered. To correlate local and systemic environments, the use of blood for diagnostic purposes, over the collection of synovial fluid, requires increased attention. This will ultimately enable biomarkers of disease to be determined that may provide an earlier diagnosis, or provide potential therapeutic targets for osteoarthritis, ultimately improving patient prognosis.

These CRISPR (cr) RNAs are repeat-spacer units that are produced by processing of pre-crRNA, the transcript of CRISPR arrays, and guide Cas protein(s) to the cognate invading nucleic acids, enabling their destruction. Several bioinformatics tools have been developed to detect CRISPR arrays based solely on DNA sequences, but all these tools employ the same strategy of looking for repetitive patterns, which might correspond to CRISPR array repeats. The identified patterns are evaluated using a fixed, built-in scoring function, and arrays exceeding a cut-off value are reported. Here, we instead introduce a data-driven approach that uses machine learning to detect and differentiate true CRISPR arrays from false ones based on several features. Our CRISPR detection tool, CRISPRidentify, performs three steps detection, feature extraction and classification based on manually curated sets of positive and negative examples of CRISPR arrays. The identified CRISPR arrays are then reported to the user accompanied by detailed annotation. We demonstrate that our approach identifies not only previously detected CRISPR arrays, but also CRISPR array candidates not detected by other tools. Compared to other methods, our tool has a drastically reduced false positive rate. Our findings also accentuate the need for a more fine-grained picture of the Ebola virus diversity in its reservoir to reliably infer the reservoir origin of outbreak lineages. In addition, the recent appearance of slower-evolving variants is in line with latency as a survival mechanism and with bats as the natural reservoir host.BACKGROUND Yellow fever, dengue, chikungunya and Zika viruses are responsible for considerable morbidity and mortality in humans. Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus are the most important mosquito vectors involved in their transmission. Accurate identification of these species is essential for the implementation of control programs to limit arbovirus transmission, during suspected detections at ports of first entry, to delimit incursions or during presence/absence surveillance programs in regions vulnerable to invasion. We developed and evaluated simple and rapid colorimetric isothermal tests to detect these two mosquito species based on loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) targeting the ribosomal RNA internal transcribed spacer 1 (ITS1). METHODOLOGY/PRINCIPAL FINDINGS Samples were prepared by homogenizing and heating at 99 oC for 10 min before an aliquot was added to the LAMP reaction. After 40 min incubation at 65 oC, a colour change indicated a positive result. The tests were 100% sensitive and spatory diagnostic testing or could be employed as standalone tests. Sixteen children with CF (7 CCF and 9 NCCF) and seven healthy age-matched control children were enrolled in the study. Heart rate was recorded for 10 min at rest in the supine and standing positions and HRV analysis was carried out using autoregressive spectral analysis. The CCF group was characterized by lower forced expiratory volume than NCCF, indicating an impairment of respiratory function. The HRV parameters further confirmed the possible sympathetic overactivity in CCF. Children with CF exhibited hyperactivity of the sympathetic nervous system. In particular, the CCF group presented a greater impairment of ANS modulation. Both CCF and NCCF children showed lower supine vagal activation in the HRV indices related to sympathetic activation and reduction of indices indicating vagal activity with the postural change from supine to standing when compared to the NCCF group.Mounting evidence from epidemiological and clinical studies has revealed marked correlations between the air pollutant fine particulate matter (FPM) and respiratory diseases. In this study, we showed that exposing THP-1-derived macrophages to FPM led to autophagy dysfunction. FPM activated the extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 (ERK1/2) signaling pathway, which promoted the expression of autophagy-related 2A (ATG2A) and reactive oxygen species generation. The overexpression of ATG2A enhanced the synthesis of autophagic membranes, and the excessive production of reactive oxygen species caused autophagy flux inhibition through disrupting the lysosomal activity. More importantly, FPM impaired the phagocytic ability of macrophages on Escherichia coli and apoptotic neutrophils. Finally, we showed that restoring autophagy rescued the impairment of phagocytic ability induced by FPM. These parameters effect both the precision of displayed dose distribution and time taken to complete a calculation. For efficient, accurate, and precise treatment planning in a clinical setting, optimal values should be selected. In this investigation, 30 volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT) treatment plans, 10 brain, 10 lung, and 10 spine were calculated in the Monaco 5.11.02 treatment planning system (TPS). Each plan was calculated with a DVS of 0.1 and 0.2 cm using SU values of 0.50%, 0.75%, 1.00%, 1.50%, and 2.00%, along with a ground truth calculation using a DVS of 0.1 cm and SU of 0.15%. The variance at each relative dose level was calculated for all SU settings to assess their relationship. The variation from the ground truth calculation for each DVS and SU combination was determined for a range of DVH metrics and plan quality indices along with the time taken to complete the calculations. Finally, the effect of defining the maximum dose using a volume of 0.035 cc was compared to 0.100 cc when considering DVS and SU settings. Changes in the DVS produced greater variations from the ground truth calculation than changes in SU across the values tested. Plan quality metrics and mean dose values showed less sensitivity to changes in SU than DVH metrics. From this study, it was concluded that while maintaining an average calculation time of less then 10 min, 75% of plans could be calculated with variations of less then 2.0% from their ground truth values when using an SU setting of 1.50% and a DVS of 0.1 cm in the case of brain or spine plans, and a 0.2 cm DVS in the case of lung plans.

The overexpression of ATG2A enhanced the synthesis of autophagic membranes, and the excessive production of reactive oxygen species caused autophagy flux inhibition through disrupting the lysosomal activity. More importantly, FPM impaired the phagocytic ability of macrophages on Escherichia coli and apoptotic neutrophils. Finally, we showed that restoring autophagy rescued the impairment of phagocytic ability induced by FPM. In this investigation, 30 volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT) treatment plans, 10 brain, 10 lung, and 10 spine were calculated in the Monaco 5.11.02 treatment planning system (TPS). Each plan was calculated with a DVS of 0.1 and 0.2 cm using SU values of 0.50%, 0.75%, 1.00%, 1.50%, and 2.00%, along with a ground truth calculation using a DVS of 0.1 cm and SU of 0.15%. The variance at each relative dose level was calculated for all SU settings to assess their relationship. The variation from the ground truth calculation for each DVS and SU combination was determined for a range of DVH metrics and plan quality indices along with the time taken to complete the calculations. Finally, the effect of defining the maximum dose using a volume of 0.035 cc was compared to 0.100 cc when considering DVS and SU settings. Changes in the DVS produced greater variations from the ground truth calculation than changes in SU across the values tested. Plan quality metrics and mean dose values showed less sensitivity to changes in SU than DVH metrics. Obesity is prevalent after orthotopic solid organ transplant mainly due to immunosuppressive therapy, decreased physical activity, and unbalanced diet, which leads to development or worsening of other comorbidities, such as hypertension and type 2 diabetes mellitus. Morbid obesity increases the risk of graft loss and has negative effects on postoperative morbidity and patient survival. The aim of this study was to assess the safety and effectiveness of bariatric surgery after organ transplant.
A retrospective analysis of patients who underwent bariatric surgery after organ transplant between July 1, 2010, and June 30, 2019, was performed. Demographics, surgical data, immunosuppressive treatment, postoperative adverse events, and weight loss were collected.
Thirty-eight patients met inclusion criteria. The median (range) time between transplant and bariatric surgery was 54.3 (10.0-253.0) months. Laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy and robotic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass were performed in 28 and 10 patients, respectively. Only 1 conversion to open procedure was required. Median length of stay was 2days, with a 30-day adverse event rate of 23.7%. No leaks were documented. At 12-month follow-up, mean (SD) percentage excess body weight loss was 58.54 (21.91) and 68.74 (23.13) after sleeve gastrectomy and Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, respectively. Comorbidity-related medications were decreased in most patients, while transplant organ rejection occurred in 2 patients.

A cohort study of thirty-eight individuals with obesity and diabetes who underwent laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass was undertaken. The levels of leptin, glucose, and glycosylated hemoglobin were verified in the preoperative period and in the first and third postoperative months.
The majority of patients were women (81.6%), and the mean age was 47.3years (SD 8.8). The mean BMI was reduced by 17.75% (from 47.3 to 38.9kg/m
) and the mean glycemia by 26.76%. Preoperative leptin had a moderate positive correlation with glucose level at the third month (Pearson r = 0.46, P = 0.02), but not with HbA1c. Patients with leptin above 27.34ng/mL had a higher glucose level at the end of observation (101.9 versus 88.9, t test, P = 0.042).

Polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) is a common musculoskeletal inflammatory disease that may occur with giant-cell arteritis (GCA) or in an isolated form. While the incidence is highest in the elderly, there is a paucity of data on its presentation, clinical course and response to treatment in younger individuals.
We conducted a retrospective review of 40 patients who were diagnosed with isolated PMR under the age of 60 and 178 patients diagnosed above this age, taking into account clinical and laboratory data and treatment history.
Patients who were diagnosed at a younger age had lower acute-phase reactant levels at diagnosis but not after initiation of treatment or at the time of relapse. The risk of relapse was lower in the group diagnosed under age 60 (35% vs 55%). Cumulative and maximal glucocorticoid doses, use of glucocorticoid-sparing agents and duration of glucocorticoid treatment, did not differ between the groups. In multivariate analysis, younger age at diagnosis was associated with cervical pain and male gender.

Its therapeutic effect on MS is based on the ability to bind sphingosine 1-phosphate (S1P) receptors and block the exit of immune cells from the lymphoid organs, thus preventing immune cell-dependent injury to the central nervous system (CNS). We showed recently that, besides the S1P-related activity, the FTY720 also down-regulates RhoA, which is a master regulator of the actin cytoskeleton. Our previous studies showed that FTY720 also down-regulates Rictor, which is a signature molecule of mTORC2 complex, which regulates RhoA and dictates actin cytoskeleton specificity. Because, our previous studies showed that chronic rejection correlates with the upregulation of RhoA and mTORC2 components and that the inhibition of RhoA pathway prevents chronic rejection, here we studied the effect of FTY720 on the chronic rejection of rat and mouse cardiac allografts. We show that FTY720 in conjunction with the inhibitors of early T cell response, (CTA4-Ig in **** and Everolimus in rats) blocks macrophage infiltration into the grafts and prevents chronic rejection of rat and mouse cardiac transplants. This indicates that FTY720 may be repurposed from the MS application to the clinical transplantation as an anti-chronic rejection drug.The chemotherapy toward glioblastoma (GBM) is severely challenged by blood-brain barrier and dose-limiting toxicity. Herein, we adopt brain delivery of Plk1 inhibitor volasertib (Vol), which is highly specific and presents low off-target toxicity, as a new means to treat GBM, for which angiopep-2-docked chimaeric polypeptide polymersome (ANG-CPP) was designed and prepared from poly(ethylene glycol)-b-poly(L-tyrosine)-b-poly(L-aspartic acid) for loading Vol to its watery interior via electrostatic interactions. ANG-CPP loaded with 13.9 wt% Vol (ANG-CPP-Vol) exhibited a small size of about 76 nm, superb colloidal stability (against dilution, serum and long-term storage), and enzyme-triggered drug release behavior (about 73% of Vol released within 8 h with proteinase K). In sharp contrast to free Vol, ANG-CPP-Vol induced complete G2/M cell cycle arrest in U-87 MG GBM cells giving 7.8-times better anti-tumor activity, prolonged circulation time and largely increased GBM enrichment. ANG-CPP-Vol effectively suppressed the growth of orthotopic U-87 MG GBM and significantly boosted **** survival rate. Amphicrine carcinoma (AmC) is a unique epithelial tumor displaying exocrine and endocrine features in the same cell. It shows an adenocarcinoma-like cellular form and has endocrine granules. There are few reports describing chemotherapy for AmC. Here, we describe a case with metastatic AmC from the rectum that was treated with FOLFOXIRI chemotherapy. A 64-year-old man was diagnosed with a submucosal lesion on the scar produced after an endoscopic mucosal resection, which had been performed for adenocarcinoma of the rectum 2 years before. The endoscopic submucosal dissection revealed AmC. The abdominoperineal resection including lymph nodes dissection was performed. Thereafter, computed tomography showed multiple liver metastases, and FOLFOXIRI was administered. The best overall response was partial response, and progression-free survival was 8.7 months. After 16.0 months since first-line chemotherapy the patient died. We can therefore conclude that FOLFOXIRI may be effective for AmC of the rectum.The current COVID-19 pandemic caused by the novel SARS-CoV-2 virus is now recognized to be associated with a coagulopathy that can result in arterial and venous thromboses. In this report, we describe a case of large-vessel cerebrovascular thrombus in a therapeutically anticoagulated 89-year-old male admitted with COVID-19 infection. Despite clinical improvement following COVID-19 pneumonitis, symptoms of an acute left-sided total anterior circulation stroke rapidly developed 10 days after initial COVID-19 symptom onset. Computed tomography angiography imaging confirmed acute large-vessel thrombus in the terminal segment of the internal carotid artery resulting in acute right middle cerebral artery territory infarction. Thromboembolic events in the context of COVID-19 infection have recently been described in critically unwell patients. However, to the best of our knowledge, this is one of the first cases of large-vessel thrombus in a patient with COVID-19 infection receiving concurrent therapeutic anticoagulation.Blastomyces dermatitidis is an endemic mold infection commonly seen in the midwestern of the USA and rarely affects pregnant women. Depression is a common comorbid disorder with RA, which leads to worsened health outcomes. There are several cytokines that are active in the joints of patients with RA. Inflammatory cytokines serve important roles in the key processes in the joints, which usually cause inflammation, articular damage and other comorbidities associated with RA. The key role of inflammatory cytokines could be attributed to their interactions within signaling pathways. In RA, IL-1, and the cytokines of TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-18 are primarily involved. Furthermore, depression is hypothesized to be strongly associated with systemic inflammation, particularly with dysregulation of the cytokine network. The present review summarizes the current state of knowledge on these two diseases from the perspective of inflammation and cytokines, and emphasizes the possible bridge between them by exploring the involvement of systemic cytokines in both conditions.Familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) is caused by mutations in various genes, including the LDLR, APOB and PSCK9 genes; however, the spectrum of these mutations in Russian individuals has not been fully investigated. In the present study, mutation screening was performed on the LDLR gene and other FH-associated genes in patients with definite or possible FH, using next-generation sequencing. In total, 59 unrelated patients were recruited and sorted into two separate groups depending on their age Adult (n=31; median age, 49; age range, 23-70) and children/adolescent (n=28; median age, 11; age range, 2-21). FH-associated variants were identified in 18 adults and 25 children, demonstrating mutation detection rates of 58 and 89% for the adult and children/adolescent groups, respectively. In the adult group, 13 patients had FH-associated mutations in the LDLR gene, including two novel variants [NM_000527.4 c.433_434dupG p.(Val145Glyfs*35) and c.1186G>C p.(Gly396Arg)], 3 patients had APOB mutations and two had ABCG5/esenting 10% of the FH cases reported in the present study, thus it may be a major variant present in the Russian population. In conclusion, the present study identified seven novel variants of the LDLR gene and broadens the spectrum of mutations in FH-related genes in the Russian Federation.

Although the Thai government has introduced policies to promote the health of migrants, it is still the case that urban refugees and asylum seekers (URAS) seem to be neglected. This study aimed to explore the degree of healthcare access through the perspective of unmet need in URAS, relative to the Thai population.
A cross-sectional survey, using a self-reporting questionnaire adapted from the Thai Health and Welfare Survey (HWS), was performed in late 2019, with 181 URAS completing the survey. The respondents were were randomly selected from the roster of the Bangkok Refugee Center. The data of the URAS survey were combined with data of the Thai population (n = 2941) from the HWS. Unmet need for health services was defined as the status of needing healthcare in the past 12 months but failing to receive it. Bivariate analysis was conducted to explore the demographic and unmet need difference between URAS and Thais. In this meta-analysis and systematic review, 19 papers finally met the inclusion criteria. The overall sample size of all collected studies for the meta-analysis was 841s. Mean anxiety score before and after intervention were 38.7 ± 5.6 33.7 ± 3.4 respectively, denoting a decrease in anxiety score after intervention.
Results of this study indicates that Sport significantly reduces Anxiety in the Elderly. Therefore, a regular exercise program can be considered as a part of the elderly care program.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a growing problem worldwide in need of global coordinated action. With the endorsement of the Global Action Plan (GAP) on AMR in 2015, the 194 member states of the World Health Organization committed to integrating the five objectives and corresponding actions of the GAP into national action plans (NAPs) on AMR. The article analyzes patterns of alignment between existing NAPs and the GAP, bringing to the fore new methodologies for exploring the relationship between globally driven health policies and activities at the national level, taking income, geography and governance factors into account.
The article investigates the global governance of AMR. Concretely, two proxies are devised to measure vertical and horizontal alignment between the GAP and existing NAPs (i) a syntactic indicator measuring the degree of verbatim overlap between the GAP and the NAPs; and (ii) a content indicator measuring the extent to which the objectives and corresponding actions outlined in the Gvernance initiatives based on individualized responsibilities some of which should be legally binding. Our study provides limited evidence of horizontal alignment within regions, which implies that regional governance institutions (e.g., WHO regional offices) should primarily act as mediators between global and local demands to strengthen a global governance regime that minimizes policy fragmentation and mimicry behavior across member states.
To strengthen the alignment of national AMR policies, we recommend global governance initiatives based on individualized responsibilities some of which should be legally binding. Our study provides limited evidence of horizontal alignment within regions, which implies that regional governance institutions (e.g., WHO regional offices) should primarily act as mediators between global and local demands to strengthen a global governance regime that minimizes policy fragmentation and mimicry behavior across member states.

This qualitative study interviewed 40 people affected by either of four stigmatizing health conditions (HIV, leprosy, schizophrenia, and diabetes) in Jakarta and West Java, Indonesia between March and June 2018. Although the Thai government has introduced policies to promote the health of migrants, it is still the case that urban refugees and asylum seekers (URAS) seem to be neglected. This study aimed to explore the degree of healthcare access through the perspective of unmet need in URAS, relative to the Thai population. A cross-sectional survey, using a self-reporting questionnaire adapted from the Thai Health and Welfare Survey (HWS), was performed in late 2019, with 181 URAS completing the survey. The respondents were were randomly selected from the roster of the Bangkok Refugee Center. The data of the URAS survey were combined with data of the Thai population (n = 2941) from the HWS. Unmet need for health services was defined as the status of needing healthcare in the past 12 months but failing to receive it.
