This study explored smokers' and non-smokers' accounts of E-cigarettes. A total of 51 UK-based participants, 20 men and 31 women, responded to open-ended questions online. Inductive thematic analysis identified that the factors that influence E-cigarette behaviour and opinion in adult smokers and non-smokers are related to social context, informative sources, practical aspects and health implications. Participants presented varying accounts of E-cigarettes, suggesting that individual narratives regarding E-cigarettes are multi-faceted. This is important information for health professionals and policy makers tasked with advising on E-cigarette use.Coccidioidomycosis is an infection caused by inhalation of arthroconidia produced by dimorphic fungi in the genus Coccidioides. In this article, we report a case of severe bilateral iliofemoral DVT that resisted the standard treatment for DVT, requiring catheter-directed thrombolysis and subsequent mechanical thrombectomy.In this study, we aimed to show the effect of adenosine 5'-triphosphate (ATP) on sunitinib-induced cardiac injury in rats. The rats (n = 30) were divided equally into three groups as sunitinib group (SG), sunitinib plus ATP group (SAG), and healthy group (HG); 2 mg/kg ATP was injected intraperitoneally (ip) to the SAG group. Same volume normal saline as solvent was administered ip to the other two groups. After 1 h, 25 mg/kg sunitinib was applied orally via catheter to stomach in the SAG and SG groups. This procedure was repeated once daily for 5 weeks. At the end of this period, all animals were sacrificed and their cardiac tissue was removed. Malondialdehyde (MDA), total glutathione (tGSH), tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α), and nuclear factor κB (NF-κB) levels in rats' cardiac tissues and troponin I (Tp-I) levels in rats' blood samples were evaluated. Histopathological analysis was also performed in cardiac tissues of the animals. MDA, TNF-α, NF-κB, and Tp-I levels were higher in the SG group compared to the SAG and HG groups (p less then 0.001). tGSH levels of the SG group were lower than the SAG and HG groups (p less then 0.001). The structure and morphology of cardiac muscle fibers and blood vessels were normal in the control group. In the SG group, obvious cardiac muscle tissue damage with dilated myofibers, locally atrophic myofibers, and congested blood vessels were observed. In the SAG group, marked amelioration in these findings was observed. We showed this for the first time that ATP administration exerts a protective effect against cardiac effects of sunitinib.Two new glycosidic acids, evolvulic acids B and C (1 and 2), along with a known one, evolvulic acid A (3), were isolated from the glycosidic acid fraction afforded by alkaline hydrolysis of crude resin glycosides from Evolvulus alsinoides whole plants. Their structures were characterized by the spectroscopic data and chemical evidences. Compounds 1 and 2 are both defined as tetrasaccharides, composed of D-fucose, D-glucose, L-rhamnose or D-galactose units. Their aglycones are identified to be a distinctive 3S,11R,14R-trihydroxyhexadecanoic acid, which is only discovered from E. alsinoides up to now. The cytotoxic and anti-migration activities of compounds 1-3 were also tested.Metabolic profiling of the hexane extract and essential oil of Cordia africana Lam., an economically important agroforestry species, was performed using GC-FID and GC-MS. Cytotoxicity was assessed in MCF-7 cancer cells using sulphorhodamine-B assay. Caspase-8, BcL-2 and Ki-67 levels were evaluated using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Forty-one compounds were identified in the hexane extract, meanwhile, eighty compounds were annotated in the essential oil. n-Decane (9.52%), β-sitosterol (8.13%), undecane (6.32%) and palmitaldehyde (5.50 %) were the major compounds identified in the hexane extract, whereas, β-caryophyllene (32.0%), germacrene D (10.12%) and δ-cadinene (7.20%) predominated in the essential oil. The half maximal inhibitory concentrations (IC50) of the extract and oil were 4.55 µg/mL and 12.90 µg/mL, respectively. Caspase-8 activity increased significantly in hexane extract treated cells. Furthermore, BcL-2 and Ki-67 protein expression levels were significantly decreased. Cordia africana Lam exhibit potent cytotoxicity against breast cancer cell line, most likely through apoptosis regulation.Two new chlorophenolic glucosides curculigines P (1) and Q (2), together with seven known compounds (3-9), were isolated from the dried rhizomes of Curculigo orchioides. Skin conductance recorded from a subset of infants (n = 36 younger, 41 older infants) revealed that arousal levels were highest for the talking reunion, lowest for unfamiliar songs, and intermediate for familiar songs. The arousal effects, considered in conjunction with the behavioral effects, confirm that songs are more effective than speech at mitigating infant distress. We suggest, moreover, that familiar songs generate higher infant arousal than unfamiliar songs because they evoke excitement, reflected in modestly elevated arousal as well as pleasure, in contrast to more subdued responses to unfamiliar songs. The present study investigated the growth of academic vocabulary and influential conditions from Grades 2 to 4 based on a newly developed and validated test instrument. Drawing on a German sample of 472 children (N = 281 language minority learners) we found evidence of a Matthew effect with the group of language minority learners showing both lower initial level and lower growth rates compared to their monolingual peers. In addition, results of simple and full conditional growth curve models underline the significant impact of family background (parental education, books at home) and of children's nonverbal cognitive abilities on the intercept as well as the growth of academic vocabulary, thereby supporting the assumption of an additional Matthew effect according to family background, particularly in monolingual majority language children. Our results indicate the need for an early promotion of the register of academic language in monolingual as well as language minority students. However, racial/ethnic and educational differences may complicate identification and explanation of such symptoms, potentially contributing to clinician misdiagnosis and patient dissatisfaction. To better understand this issue, we examined racial/ethnic differences in general physical symptoms (GPS) and, more specifically, medically unexplained physical symptoms (MUPS) and whether differences varied by race/ethnicity and educational attainment. METHOD A sample of 4,864 Latino, Asian, and non-Latino White community respondents (54% female; average age of 41 years) self-reported their GPS. Two experts then rated whether endorsed symptoms were likely to have a medical basis. We assessed the associations of GPS and MUPS with race/ethnicity, age, gender, educational attainment, chronic physical conditions, and past-year psychiatric diagnoses. RESULTS Asian respondents reported significantly fewer GPS than non-Latino Whites, and both Asian and Latino respondents endorsed significantly fewer MUPS than non-Latino Whites. When nativity and language were each included as covariates, racial/ethnic differences in GPS count were no longer observed; however, observed differences in MUPS count remained. Educational attainment did not demonstrate a significant relationship with either GPS or MUPS. Although comorbid mental health diagnoses were significantly related to both GPS and MUPS, age, gender, and comorbid physical conditions were the only significant predictors of GPS. CONCLUSIONS Results from this study question existing stereotypical views of racial/ethnic differences in somatization and suggest that educational attainment does not significantly contribute to reported physical symptoms-with or without medical explanation. To improve the framework for understanding the disturbance regime attributes that affect ecosystem variability, we examine how the introduction of stochasticity to disturbance parameters (frequency, severity and extent) alters simulated recovery when compared to deterministic outcomes from a spatially explicit simulation model. We also examine the agreement between results from empirical studies and deterministic and stochastic configurations of the model. We find that stochasticity in disturbance frequency and spatial extent leads to the greatest increase in the variance of simulated dynamics, although stochastic severity also contributes to departures from the deterministic case. The incorporation of stochasticity in disturbance attributes improves agreement between empirical and simulated responses, with 71% of empirical responses correctly classified by stochastic configurations of the model as compared to 47% using the purely deterministic model. By comparison, only 2% of empirical responses were correctly classified by the deterministic model and misclassified by stochastic configurations of the model. These results indicate that stochasticity in the attributes of a disturbance regime alters the patterns and classification of ecosystem variability, suggesting altered recovery dynamics. Incorporating stochastic disturbance processes into models may thus be critical for anticipating the ecological resilience of ecosystems.Protein phosphorylation plays an important role during the life cycle of many viruses. Venezuelan equine encephalitis virus (VEEV) capsid protein has recently been shown to be phosphorylated at four residues. Here those studies are extended to determine the kinase responsible for phosphorylation and the importance of capsid phosphorylation during the viral life cycle. Phosphorylation site prediction software suggests that Protein Kinase C (PKC) is responsible for phosphorylation of VEEV capsid. VEEV capsid co-immunoprecipitated with PKCδ, but not other PKC isoforms and siRNA knockdown of PKCδ caused a decrease in viral replication. Furthermore, knockdown of PKCδ by siRNA decreased capsid phosphorylation. A virus with capsid phosphorylation sites mutated to alanine (VEEV CPD) displayed a lower genomic copy to pfu ratio than the parental virus; suggesting more efficient viral assembly and more infectious particles being released. RNAcapsid binding was significantly increased in the mutant virus, confirming these results. Finally, VEEV CPD is attenuated in a mouse model of infection, with **** showing increased survival and decreased clinical signs as compared to **** infected with the parental virus. We find that stochasticity in disturbance frequency and spatial extent leads to the greatest increase in the variance of simulated dynamics, although stochastic severity also contributes to departures from the deterministic case. The incorporation of stochasticity in disturbance attributes improves agreement between empirical and simulated responses, with 71% of empirical responses correctly classified by stochastic configurations of the model as compared to 47% using the purely deterministic model. By comparison, only 2% of empirical responses were correctly classified by the deterministic model and misclassified by stochastic configurations of the model. These results indicate that stochasticity in the attributes of a disturbance regime alters the patterns and classification of ecosystem variability, suggesting altered recovery dynamics. Phosphorylation site prediction software suggests that Protein Kinase C (PKC) is responsible for phosphorylation of VEEV capsid. VEEV capsid co-immunoprecipitated with PKCδ, but not other PKC isoforms and siRNA knockdown of PKCδ caused a decrease in viral replication. Furthermore, knockdown of PKCδ by siRNA decreased capsid phosphorylation. A virus with capsid phosphorylation sites mutated to alanine (VEEV CPD) displayed a lower genomic copy to pfu ratio than the parental virus; suggesting more efficient viral assembly and more infectious particles being released. RNAcapsid binding was significantly increased in the mutant virus, confirming these results. Finally, VEEV CPD is attenuated in a mouse model of infection, with mice showing increased survival and decreased clinical signs as compared to mice infected with the parental virus. A retrospective review of autopsy files at Forensic Science South Australia in Adelaide, Australia, was undertaken over a five-year period from January 2014 to December 2018 for all motor vehicle crashes with rollovers ending with the vehicle inverted and the occupants suspended by the lap component of their seat belts. There were five cases, all male drivers (aged 18-67 years; Mage = 32 years). Acute neck flexion or head wedging was noted in four cases, with facial petechiae in four and facial congestion in one. Deaths were due to positional asphyxia in four cases, with the combined effects of positional asphyxia and head trauma accounting for the remaining case. Although all drivers had evidence of head impact which may have caused incapacitation, in only one case was this considered severe enough to have contributed to death. A blood alcohol level above the legal limit for driving was detected in two cases, but no other drugs were detected. This series demonstrates another subset of cases of seat belt-associated deaths where suspension upside down by the lap component of a seat belt had occurred after vehicle rollovers. Predisposing factors include incapacitation of the victim and delay in rescue. The postulated lethal mechanism involved respiratory compromise from the weight of abdominal viscera on the diaphragm, as well as upper airway compromise due to kinking of the neck and wedging of the head.The descriptions of surfaces, objects, and events computed by visual processes are not solely for consumption in the visual system but are meant to be passed on to other brain centers. Poor muscle strength, balance, and functional mobility have predicted falls in older adults. Fall prevention guidelines recommend highly challenging balance training modes to decrease falls; however, it is unclear whether certain modes are more effective. The purpose of this study was to determine whether traditional balance training (BT), virtual reality balance training (VR), or combined exercise (MIX) relative to a waitlist control group (CON) would provoke greater improvements in strength, balance, and functional mobility as falls risk factor proxies for falls in older men.
We hypothesized that 8 weeks of MIX will provoke the greatest improvements in falls risk factors, followed by similar improvements after BT and VR, relative to the CON.

Patient Counseling is desirable in chronic disease condition which is influenced by innumerable predictors. Educational status is one of the primary predictor which is usually ignored while considering the effect of patient counseling in cancer patients. Therefore, this study was aimed to determine the measure of association between education level and patient counseling among cancer patients.
In the cross-sectional analysis, 90 cancer patients in inpatient setting at Oncology department of tertiary care hospital in South India were examined for a 24-week period through pharmacist-patient interview. The data were recorded in well-customized and validated data collection form.
Bivariate analysis and linear regression analysis were performed using IBM SPSS Statistics 16.0, USA to assess the empirical relationship between the two determinants education level and patient counseling.
The study participants were aged between 11 to 80 years with 711 male to female ratio. Among 90 interviewed patients, 83.3% were counseled. Linear regression analysis demonstrated significant association between education status and patient counseling (p < 0.05).
The study findings suggest that poor education status can be a barrier to patient's ability to seek and act on the counseling provided by the health care professionals. Thus, it recommends improvisation of counseling practice on patients from different educational divisions.

The treatment of multiple myeloma (MM) has advanced with the introduction of immunomodulators (IMiDS). Thalidomide is the IMiD available in Brazil with free access to MM patients. Adherence to treatment with IMiDs is essential for a successful therapy. The study proposed to describe adherence to thalidomide treatment in patients diagnosed with MM in onco-hematological outpatient clinics.
This is a cross-sectional study with patients over 18 years of age diagnosed with MM undergoing thalidomide treatment. Adherence was measured by the Proportion of Days Covered (PDC), which is an indirect method of measuring adherence that uses database-related medication dispensing information. Patients with PDC ≥90 were classified as adherent. The association between adherence and independent variables was assessed in univariate and multivariate analyses using logistic regression.
A total of 65 patients with a median age of 62.6 years were identified. The median PDC was 93.7%. The frequency of adherence to thalidomide was 56.

Establishing a genetic diagnosis has important medical and personal utility for individuals with these conditions. Diagnostic genetic tests for NPD are clinically available but underutilized outside of medical genetics settings. Without clear multidisciplinary consensus recommendations, active involvement of medical specialists working with NPD patients, and practical education and training, the implementation of genetic testing for NPD will continue to lag behind other areas of medicine. Although early case study results are promising, aspects like system suitability, cost and environmental performance remain difficult to quantify and compare across broad geographic contexts and variable system configurations. In this study, we evaluate four NPR system types - rainwater harvesting (RWH), air-conditioning condensate harvesting (ACH), and source-separated graywater and mixed wastewater membrane bioreactors (GWMBR, WWMBR) - in terms of their ability to satisfy onsite non-potable demand, their environmental impacts and their economic cost. As part of the analysis, we developed the Non-potable Environmental and Economic Water Reuse Calculator (NEWR), a publicly available U.S. EPA web application that allows users to generate planning-level estimates of system cost and environmental performance using location and basic building characteristics as inputsnted in water scarce regions with diverse topography and regions relying on groundwater sources, which increases the benefits of reducing reliance on centralized drinking water services. In terms of cost, WWMBRs were found to have the lowest cost under the largest range of building characteristics and locations, achieving cost parity with local drinking water rates when those rates were more than $7 per 1000 gallons, which occurred in 19% of surveyed cities.Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE) has been applied as a complementary approach for spatial tracking of coronavirus disease 2019 cases (COVID-19) as well as early warning of the occurrence of infected populations. The present study presents the result of the monitoring of sanitary sewerage in the municipality of Niterói, a metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and its use as a complementary indicator in the surveillance of COVID-19 cases, thus assisting actions of public health from local authorities. Twelve composite raw sewage samples were weekly collected from two wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) and alternately from 17 sewer pipes (SP) from surrounding neighbourhoods and slums throughout 20 weeks (April 15th to August 25th, 2020). Two hundred twenty-three samples were concentrated using the ultracentrifugation-based method and SARS-CoV-2 RNA detected and quantified by RT-qPCR using primers and probe targeting the N2 genome. SARS-CoV-2 RNA was detected in 84.3% (188/223) of samples with a positive rate ranging from 42% (5/12) in the first week of monitoring to 100% during the peak of epidemic with viral concentration ranging from 3.1 to 7.1 log10 genome copies /100 mL throughout the studied period. Positive rates were higher in WWTPs when compared to SP, being useful tool for monitoring trends in the evolution of the COVID-19 curve, while SP data were more effective when health public interventions were needed. The emerging floc aggregates represented an early form of granules, providing the initial biological carrier and necessary anaerobic microenvironment for the growth of attached AnAOB, resulting in a high AnAOB growth-rate. These results are the first direct evidence that floc aggregates are essential to AnAOB enrichment, and that they can be affected by operational conditions. When adults are presented with basic multimodal sensory stimuli, the Colavita effect suggests that they have a visual dominance, whereas more recent research finds that an auditory sensory dominance may be present in children under 8 years of age. However, it is not currently known whether this phenomenon holds for more complex multimodal social stimuli. Here we presented children and adults with multimodal social stimuli consisting of emotional bodies and voices, asking them to recognize the emotion in one modality while ignoring the other. We found that adults can perform this task with no detrimental effects on performance regardless of whether the ignored emotion was congruent or not. However, children find it extremely challenging to recognize bodily emotion while trying to ignore incongruent vocal emotional information.

The present study presents the result of the monitoring of sanitary sewerage in the municipality of Niterói, a metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and its use as a complementary indicator in the surveillance of COVID-19 cases, thus assisting actions of public health from local authorities. Twelve composite raw sewage samples were weekly collected from two wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) and alternately from 17 sewer pipes (SP) from surrounding neighbourhoods and slums throughout 20 weeks (April 15th to August 25th, 2020). Two hundred twenty-three samples were concentrated using the ultracentrifugation-based method and SARS-CoV-2 RNA detected and quantified by RT-qPCR using primers and probe targeting the N2 genome. SARS-CoV-2 RNA was detected in 84.3% (188/223) of samples with a positive rate ranging from 42% (5/12) in the first week of monitoring to 100% during the peak of epidemic with viral concentration ranging from 3.1 to 7.1 log10 genome copies /100 mL throughout the studied period. Here we show the location of fructans ranging from DP3 to DP17 to be differentially abundant across the stem tissue and for the first time, experimental collision cross sections of endogenous fructan structures have been collected, revealing at least two isoforms for fructans of DP4, DP5, DP6, DP7, DP8, DP10, and DP11. This demonstrates that complex fructans such as agavins can be located and their isoforms resolved using a combination of MALDI, IMS, and MSI, without the need for extraction or derivatization. Use of this methodology uncovered patterns of fructan localization consistent with functional differences where higher DP fructans are found toward the central section of the stem supporting a role in long term carbohydrate storage whereas lower DP fructans are concentrated in the highly vascularized central core of rhizomes supporting a role in mobilization of carbohydrates from the mother plant to developing offsets. Drug-induced thrombocytopenia is a rare but serious adverse reaction to sulfonamide antibiotics like Bactrim/Septra. A 34-year-old active duty marine male with no significant past medical history presented with a chief complaint of a rash on his lower extremities. The patient stated that 2 weeks earlier, he was prescribed Bactrim for cellulitis at the site of a new tattoo. The intern noted a petechial rash that was pathognomonic for thrombocytopenia. Laboratory testing confirmed the patient's thrombocytopenia with platelets of 2,000/μL on initial complete blood count, without pancytopenia or other coagulopathies. The blood smear indicated a profound lack of platelets but otherwise normal cell counts and morphology. In the emergency department, the patient was typed and crossed, platelets were ordered, and hematology-oncology was consulted. Once admitted to the internal medicine ward, he was administered glucocorticoids as well as platelet transfusions. He was monitored for 3 days and discharged with a diagnosis of resolved drug-induced thrombocytopenia. This case illustrates the importance of conducting a thorough review of systems and physical examination in stable and otherwise healthy patients. This was a single-center, 12-month, randomized, superiority, open-label, parallel-group trial conducted in an outpatient clinic. Sixty patients with a solitary BNTN or dominant nodule characterized by pressure symptoms/cosmetic problems were randomly assigned (11 ratio) to receive either a single session of RFA or LA. Twenty-9 patients per group completed the study. The main outcome measures were VRR and proportion of nodules with more than 50% reduction (technical success rate).
At 12 months, VRR was 70.9 ± 16.9% and 60.0 ± 19.0% in the RFA and LA groups, respectively (P = .024). This effect was confirmed in the linear regression model that was adjusted for age, sex, nodule baseline volume, and proportion of cellular components (RFA treatment β = .390; P = .009). No significant between-group difference was observed in the technical success rate at 12 months after treatment. A statistically significant improvement was observed from the baseline to the 12-month follow-up for compression (RFA 4.6 ± 2.6 and 1.3 ± 0.8, P < .001; and LA 4.6 ± 2.1 and 1.6 ± 0.8, respectively, P < .001) and cosmetic (RFA 3.4 ± 0.6 and 1.3 ± 0.5, P < .001; and LA 3.4 ± 0.5 and 1.4 ± 0.6, P < .001) scores although the between-group differences were not significant.

In this paper, we review the profile of circRNA in PTC, its regulatory roles, and the pathological mechanism as well as their related clinical significance. In addition, challenges of this specific field are discussed.

Recent progress in the genome-wide association studies of thyroid cancer leads to the identification of several genetic variants conferring risk to this malignancy across different ethnicities. We set out to elucidate the impact of selected single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) on PTC risk and to evaluate clinicopathological correlations of these genetic variants in the Kazakh population for the first time.

Triglyceride-glucose (TyG) is an emerging vital indicator of insulin resistance and is associated with increased risk of T2DM and cardiovascular events. We aimed to explore the TyG index and contrast-induced acute kidney injury (CI-AKI) in patients with type 2 diabetes who underwent coronary angiology.
This study enrolled 928 patients with suspected coronary artery disease who underwent coronary angiology or percutaneous coronary intervention in Zhongda hospital. Patient data were divided into quartiles according to the TyG index group 1 TyG ≤ 8.62; group 2 8.62<TyG ≤ 9.04; group 3 9.04<TyG ≤ 9.45; and group 4 TyG>9.45. CI-AKI was diagnosed according to the KIDIGO criteria. Demographic data, hematological parameters, coronary angiology data, and medications were all recorded. We calculated the TyG index using the following formula ln [fasting TG (mg/dL)×FPG (mg/dL)/2].
Patients who developed CI-AKI exhibited significantly higher TyG index levels compared to patients who did not develop CI-AKI. The incidence of CI-AKI sharply increased with increasing TyG. Univariate and multivariate analysis identified TyG as an independent risk factor for CI-AKI. The AUC of the ROC curve was as high as 0.728 when the value of TyG was 8.88. The corresponding sensitivity was as high as 94.9%. Adding the variable TyG to the model for predicting CI-AKI risk further increased the predictive value of the model from 80.4% to 82%.
High TyG is closely associated with increased incidence of CI-AKI, demonstrating that TyG is an independent risk factor for CI-AKI. TyG has potentially predictive value for CI-AKI and may play a crucial role in risk stratification in clinical practice.

Activated portal fibroblasts (PFs) double-positive for GFP and Thy-1 on immunofluorescence in the liver of BDL-injured **** became less noticeable following G-J anastomosis. Messenger RNA expression of markers for activated PFs in the liver was downregulated after anastomosis. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases (TIMPs) were induced by BDL. After anastomosis, expressions of MMP-3, 8 as well as hepatocyte growth factor were further upregulated, whereas those of TIMP-1 and TIMP-3 were markedly downregulated.

The genomic structure of this case is a mosaic with some regions resembling the CRF01_AE and CRF07_BC clades. Our phylogenetic analyses show that the two parental lineages of this recombinant virus were mainly found in the MSM population. This case has a different genomic composition compared with other recombinants descended from the same parental clades CRF01_AE and CRF07_BC. Our finding suggests that the MSM populations have become a hotspot for expanding viral diversity through the viral recombination mechanism. Therefore, further epidemiologic surveillance and monitoring should be conducted within the MSM populations to help advance our knowledge of viral transmission mechanisms. And, we compared the geographic ranges for 4 taxa and selected freshwater species with occurrence of all Indigenous languages within Natural WHSs and subsections of WHSs covered by the geographic extent of Indigenous languages to measure the correlation between linguistic and bioloere maintaining natural systems may rely on functioning Indigenous cultural systems and vice versa.Orofacial pain (OFP) disorders affect the maxillofacial complex and typically involve other locations in the head and neck. Common etiologies of OFP disorders include odontogenic sources, temporomandibular disorders, neuropathic pain, chemosensory disorders, and headaches. We studied the ultrasonographically measured ONSD in severely pre-eclamptic women, and the effect of magnesium sulfate therapy on its values.

We recorded baseline ONSD values, serum magnesium levels, neurological symptoms, vitals, and repeated them at 4 and 12 hours following magnesium sulfate therapy, and then at 24 hours postpartum. An ONSD value >5.8 mm was suggestive of raised intracranial pressure. Primary outcome measure was to evaluate changes in ultrasonographically measured ONSD following seizure prophylaxis with magnesium sulfate.
