The relationship between resistance and virulence among bacteria depends on the bacterial species, the specific mechanisms of resistance and virulence, the ecological niche, and the host.The objective was to determine the bacterial composition in inflamed and non-inflamed pouches for comparison to the microbiota of healthy individuals. Pouch patients and healthy individuals were included between November 2017 and June 2019 at the Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery, Aalborg University Hospital, Denmark. A faecal sample was collected from all participants for microbiota analysis using 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing. Overall, 38 participants were included in the study. Eleven patients with a normally functioning pouch, 9 patients with chronic pouchitis, 6 patients with familial adenomatous polyposis, and 12 healthy individuals. Patients with chronic pouchitis had overall lower microbial diversity and richness compared to patients with a normal pouch function (p less then 0.001 and p = 0.009) and healthy individuals (p less then 0.001 and p less then 0.001). No significant difference was found between patients with familial adenomatous polyposis and chronic pouchitis (microbial diversity p = 0.39 and richness p = 0.78). Several taxa from the family Enterobacteriaceae, especially genus Escherichia, were associated primarily with patients with chronic pouchitis, while taxa from the genus Bacteroides primarily were associated with healthy individuals and patients with a normally functioning pouch. Finally, a microbial composition gradient could be established from healthy individuals through patients with normal pouch function and familial adenomatous polyposis to patients with chronic pouchitis.
This study was performed to undertake cross-cultural adaptation and validation of the Educational Needs Assessment Tool (ENAT) in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) for use in Korea.
The study involved two main phases cross-cultural adaptation of the ENAT from English into Korean, and validation of the Korean ENAT. The first phase followed the established process of cross-cultural adaptation of self-report measures, and in the second phase, the Korean ENAT data were analyzed using the Rasch measurement model. Fit to the model was determined using the observed data infit and outfit statistics. Additional tests of validity included unidimensionality and internal consistency.
Adequate conceptual equivalence was achieved following the adaptation process. A total of 123 patients completed the Korean ENAT. The mean age was 46.7 ± 12.3 years and the majority of patients (81.3%) were female. Thirty-five of the 39 items gave good fit to the model. The four items deviating from the model had infit and outfit > 1.50. The item separation index (5.26) and item reliability index (0.97) provided evidence for good reliability of items. All seven domains of the Korean ENAT fit the Rasch model. The internal consistency of the Korean ENAT was high, and unidimensionality was confirmed (person separation index, 3.41; reliability index, 0.92; item separation index, 16.82; reliability index, 1.00).

The functional definition of DGF (fDGF, the failure of serum creatinine to decrease by at least 10% daily on 3 consecutive days during the first week post-transplant), may be more sensitive to reflect recovery after the ischemia-reperfusion injury. We retrospectively analyzed both definitions in 253 deceased donor kidney transplant recipients for predicting death-censored graft failure as primary outcome, using eGFR less then 25 ml/min/1.73 m2 as a surrogate end-point for graft failure. Secondary outcome was a composite outcome that included graft failure as above and also patient's death. Median follow-up was 3.22 [2.38-4.21] years. Seventy-nine patients developed dDGF (31.2%) and 127 developed fDGF (50.2%). Sixty-three patients fulfilled criteria for both definitions (24.9%). At multivariable analysis, the two definitions were significantly associated with the primary [HR (95%CI) 2.07 (1.09-3.94), P = 0.026 for fDGF and HR (95%CI) 2.41 (1.33-4.37), P = 0.004 for dDGF] and the secondary composite outcome [HR (95%CI) 1.58 (1.01-2.51), P = 0.047 for fDGF and HR (95%CI) 1.67 (1.05-2.66), P = 0.028 for dDGF]. Endometriosis is a common benign chronic disorder, characterized by the presence of endometrial tissue outside the uterus. Deep infiltrating endometriosis (DIE) represents the most aggressive presentation. Robot-assisted laparoscopy represents an important innovation and has opened new perspectives for the treatment of endometriosis, offering numerous advantages especially in the most complex procedures, particularly when extragenital endometriosis diffusely involves pelvic structures including the bowel and the urinary tract [1]. Endometriosis affects the bowel in 30% of DIE cases, and it is usually associated with ovarian and ureteral involvement; therefore, a multidisciplinary team with both general and gynecologic surgeons is required. The goal of endometriosis surgery in thewith adnexal, uterine, and intestinal endometriosis, with the presence of a nodular rectal lesion. The excision consisted of several key strategies to minimize iatrogenic rectal injury CONCLUSION The approach to DIE, particularly rectal endometriotic lesions, could be more accurate with ICG evaluation of vascular pertinence, in attempt to evaluate shaving feasibility of lesions in endometriosis laparoscopic robotic surgery.

A large percentage of patients are asymptomatic. Those who are symptomatic can present with cyclic shoulder pain, right upper quadrant pain, or catamenial pneumothorax. Single fraction radiation therapy (SFRT) is more convenient and cost-effective, causes fewer acute side effects, and is equivalent to multiple fraction radiation therapy for pain relief. Despite these advantages, radiation oncologists seldom prescribe SFRT.
To identify the behavioral determinants to Canadian radiation oncologists' use of SFRT for uncomplicated bone metastases.
Semistructured interviews were conducted with 38 radiation oncologists from all 10 Canadian provinces. The interview guide and analysis were guided by the Theoretical Domains Framework (TDF). Transcripts were analyzed using a 5-phase thematic content analysis process coding, generation of belief statements, generation of themes within TDF domains, generation of overarching themes, and classification of themes as barriers or facilitators to SFRT use, or as divergent (a barrier or facilitator depending on the participant).

Our results will inform the design of future interventions to increase the use of SFRT.The molecular pathogenesis of mixed odontogenic tumors has not been established, and understanding their genetic basis could refine their classification and help define molecular markers for diagnostic purposes. Potentially pathogenic mutations in the component tissues of 28 cases of mixed odontogenic tumors were assessed. Laser capture microdissected tissue from 10 ameloblastic fibromas (AF), 4 ameloblastic fibrodentinomas (AFD), 6 ameloblastic fibro-odontomas (AFO), 3 ameloblastic fibrosarcomas (AFS), and 5 odontomas (OD) were screened by next-generation sequencing and results confirmed by TaqMan allele-specific quantitative PCR. BRAF p.V600E mutation in the mesenchymal component was shown in 4 of 10 AF (40%), 2 of 4 AFD (50%), 2 of 6 AFO (33%), and 2 of 3 AFS (67%), whereas all 5 OD were wild type for BRAF p.V600E. Mutation in the epithelial component was only observed in one AF and one AFO. One AFS contained an area of benign AF, and the mesenchymal component of both (AFS and AF) contained BRAF p.V600E, supporting the concept of malignant progression from a benign AF precursor. KDR, TP53, KIT, and PIK3CA single-nucleotide polymorphisms are reported. In conclusion, AF, AFD, AFO, and AFS show BRAF p.V600E in their mesenchymal component, unlike OD, which are BRAF wild type, suggesting that at least a subset of AF, AFD, and AFO are molecularly distinct from OD, and may represent distinct entities and be neoplastic.Aggressive form of neuroblastoma (NB) is a malignant childhood cancer derived from granule neuron precursors and sympatho-adrenal lineage with N-****amplification. A panel of FDA-approved oncology drugs set (147 compounds) was subjected to the INSM1 promoter-driven luciferase assay. The positive-hit compounds were validated for effects on cell viability and INSM1 expression. Here we demonstrate that metabolic reprogramming induced by mitochondrial fusion can be rate-limiting for immortalization of tumor-initiating cells (TICs) and trigger their irreversible dedication to tumorigenesis. Using single-cell transcriptomics, we find that Drosophila brain tumors contain a rapidly dividing stem cell population defined by upregulation of oxidative phosphorylation (OxPhos). We combine targeted metabolomics and in vivo genetic screening to demonstrate that OxPhos is required for tumor cell immortalization but dispensable in neural stem cells (NSCs) giving rise to tumors. Due to the low prevalence of premolar pulp calcifications, our study included only molars. These calcifications were significantly more common in women than in men (71.5% vs. 28.5%) and in people over 40 years. Significant differences were identified between the state of the crown and the pulp response with the presence of pulp stones, although size did not influence this association. The set of independent variables has a statistically significant effect on the criterion variable (χ2 = 260.25, p less then 0.001). There was a significant association between the state of the crown and the type of pulp response with the presence of pulp stones, but not with the size of the calcification. This includes two cases of ischemic stroke, one with large-vessel occlusion and one with embolic infarcts. The remainders of the cases include acute tumefactive demyelination, isolated cytotoxic edema of the corpus callosum with subarachnoid hemorrhage, and posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES).In recent decades, the advancement of computational algorithms and the availability of big data have enabled artificial intelligence (AI) to dramatically improve predictive performance in nearly all research areas. Specifically, machine learning (ML) techniques, a major branch of AI, have been widely used in many tasks of drug discovery and development, including predicting treatment effects, identifying target genes and functional pathways, as well as selecting potential biomarkers. However, in practice, blindly applying ML methods may lead to common pitfalls, including overfitting and lack of generalizability. Therefore, how to improve the robustness and prediction accuracy of ML methods has become a crucial problem for researchers. In this review, we summarize the application of ML models to drug discovery by introducing the top-performing methods developed from large-scale drug-related data challenges in recent years.

BACKGROUND Until recently, patients who have the same type and stage of cancer all receive the same treatment. It has been established, however, that individuals with the same disease respond differently to the same therapy. Further, each tumor undergoes genetic changes that cause cancer to grow and metastasize. The changes that occur in one person's cancer may not occur in others with the same cancer type. These differences also lead to different responses to treatment. Precision medicine, also known as personalized medicine, is a strategy that allows the selection of a treatment based on the patient's genetic makeup. In the case of cancer, the treatment is tailored to take into account the genetic changes that may occur in an individual's tumor. Precision medicine, therefore, could be defined in terms of the targets involved in targeted therapy. METHODS A literature search in electronic data bases using keywords "cancer targeted therapy, personalized medicine and cancer combination therapies" was conducted erapies. Acute lung injury (ALI) is caused by severe infection, and urgently needs effective treatments or validated pharmacological targets. Formyl peptide receptor 2 (Fpr2) plays essential roles in immune responses and inflammatory diseases. In the present study, Fpr2 expression was markedly increased in lung tissues of lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-challenged ****, and these effects were confirmed in LPS-stimulated macrophages. Then, the in vitro analysis suggested that Fpr2 knockdown significantly decreased LPS-induced inflammatory response in macrophages. Notably, the in vivo experiments indicated that Fpr2 deficiency alleviated ALI in LPS-treated ****, as evidenced by the improved histological changes in lung, reduced protein concentrations in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) and decreased neutrophil infiltration. In addition, LPS-induced pulmonary inflammation was ameliorated by Fpr2 knockout, which was partly through blocking nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) and mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) signaling pathwken together, findings in the present study illustrated that Fpr2 could directly interact with TAK1 to promote ALI through enhancing inflammation and oxidative stress associated with the activation of Nrf2, providing a novel therapeutic target to develop effective treatment against ALI progression. Pathological cardiac hypertrophy is characterized by myocyte enlargement and cardiac dysfunction. However, the pathogenesis for this disease is still poorly understood. Stimulator of interferon genes (STING) could meditate inflammation and immune response in various kinds of diseases. In this work, we demonstrated that STING was critical for pressure overload-induced cardiac hypertrophy. Results showed that STING expression was up-regulated in human and mouse hypertrophic hearts. STING knockout attenuated cardiac hypertrophy induced by aortic banding (AB). The effects of STING deficiency on the improvement of cardiac hypertrophy and dysfunction were associated with the restrained macrophage infiltration, inflammatory response and fibrosis. BACKGROUND Until recently, patients who have the same type and stage of cancer all receive the same treatment. It has been established, however, that individuals with the same disease respond differently to the same therapy. Further, each tumor undergoes genetic changes that cause cancer to grow and metastasize. The changes that occur in one person's cancer may not occur in others with the same cancer type. These differences also lead to different responses to treatment. Precision medicine, also known as personalized medicine, is a strategy that allows the selection of a treatment based on the patient's genetic makeup. In the case of cancer, the treatment is tailored to take into account the genetic changes that may occur in an individual's tumor. Precision medicine, therefore, could be defined in terms of the targets involved in targeted therapy. METHODS A literature search in electronic data bases using keywords "cancer targeted therapy, personalized medicine and cancer combination therapies" was conducted erapies. Acute lung injury (ALI) is caused by severe infection, and urgently needs effective treatments or validated pharmacological targets. Formyl peptide receptor 2 (Fpr2) plays essential roles in immune responses and inflammatory diseases. In the present study, Fpr2 expression was markedly increased in lung tissues of lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-challenged mice, and these effects were confirmed in LPS-stimulated macrophages. Then, the in vitro analysis suggested that Fpr2 knockdown significantly decreased LPS-induced inflammatory response in macrophages. Notably, the in vivo experiments indicated that Fpr2 deficiency alleviated ALI in LPS-treated mice, as evidenced by the improved histological changes in lung, reduced protein concentrations in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) and decreased neutrophil infiltration. In addition, LPS-induced pulmonary inflammation was ameliorated by Fpr2 knockout, which was partly through blocking nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) and mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) signaling pathwken together, findings in the present study illustrated that Fpr2 could directly interact with TAK1 to promote ALI through enhancing inflammation and oxidative stress associated with the activation of Nrf2, providing a novel therapeutic target to develop effective treatment against ALI progression. The purpose of this cross-sectional survey study is to explore transgender teens' and their parents' interest in and preferences regarding support groups in an effort to optimally serve the entire family's needs. The aims of the study were to (1) describe transgender teens interest level and preferences regarding support groups; (2) describe parents of transgender teens interest level and preferences regarding support groups; and (3) compare responses based on demographics including teens versus parent, natal sex, and gender identity. De-identified surveys were collected from a convenience sample of transgender patients (N = 26), ages 13-18 years, and their parents (N = 20). https://www.selleckchem.com/MEK.html Overall level of interest in support groups was 7.20/10 for youth and 7.95/10 for parents where 0 is not interested and 10 is very interested. Both groups endorsed benefits of a support group, including help with managing school issues, learning about local resources for transgender teens, and providing peer support. Both groups expressed moderate interest in support groups, with minor differences between youths and parents noted in preferred support group structure. Further examination is warranted to determine optimal support group characteristics aimed specifically at parents and, separately, for youth. Aims The objectives of this study were to evaluate the impact of a healthy eating intervention for children in after-school programs and to use photovoice to document change in eating behavior. Methods Forty-two children in three after-school programs participated. Children participated in lessons from an existing program to learn about healthy eating. A mixed methods study was conducted, using surveys to assess parent and child perceptions, and photovoice to capture children's perceptions of how they and their family changed eating habits. Member-checking was used to verify themes in the data. Twenty parents completed surveys evaluating the program. Results Findings indicated that children learned program information, were interested in eating healthier (more fruits and vegetables), and quantitative data revealed there was a pre-post trend for eating more fruits at home. They reported that using the photovoice method helped them to monitor their behavior and helped them improve personal and family eating habits. Member checking confirmed themes. A majority of parents were satisfied with the program and reported that their children were discussing what they learned at home. Conclusions Findings suggested that the photovoice methodology helped children to change in a positive way, increasing their agency in improving their own health and that of their family. Assessing longitudinal change in attitudes about healthy eating and eating behaviors will provide information about whether children maintain gains in knowledge and healthy eating over time.
Focused cardiac ultrasound (FoCUS) is an increasingly used diagnostic modality for anesthesiologists and intensivists. However, training residents in its use can be resource intensive. We investigated the feasibility of implementing a self-guided FoCUS curriculum for anesthesiology residents rotating in the postanesthesia care unit (PACU).
We created a FoCUS curriculum with the aim of providing a consistent largely self-guided experience that would improve FoCUS knowledge and skills while minimizing ongoing time commitment from faculty. To achieve this, we used several methods (1) developed video didactics and quizzes; (2) used an online educational delivery platform to automate delivery of educational content, monitor resident progress, and elicit feedback; (3) used the transthoracic echocardiography simulator for aided hands-on learning; (4) dedicated educational time that integrated into PACU workflow; (5) worked with a cardiac sonographer; and (6) used image storage software to facilitate remote feedback by ultrasound faculty. The response to the curriculum was evaluated using Kirkpatrick levels 1-3.
Forty-one anesthesiology residents rotated through the PACU over a 1-year period and completed this weeklong self-guided FoCUS curriculum. Interesting findings include (1) favorable evaluation from the residents and (2) improvement in image acquisition skills by objective measures. Once the curriculum was established, ongoing faculty time commitment was approximately 1 hour 20 minutes per week.

Managing pediatric crises necessitates the acquisition of unique skills and confidence in its execution. Our aim was to develop and assess a curriculum based on the constructivist learning environment to enhance learning, orientation, and preparation of graduating pediatric anesthesiology fellows.
Fifty pediatric anesthesiology fellows from 9 academic institutions in the United States were recruited for an advanced boot camp over a 2-year period. Training stations were developed using high-fidelity simulation, standardized patients, self-reflection modules, and facilitated discussions. The curriculum was evaluated using an anonymous survey that assessed knowledge, self-confidence, appropriateness of case-scenario complexity, and usefulness for transitioning into an independent practitioner on a Likert scale (

). Data points were expressed as the median and interquartile range (IQR).

Results After treating with 0.1, 1 and 10 μmol/L of ouabain for 24 h, the inhibitory rate of cells were (23.5±4.57)%, (49.80±5.32)%, and (72.10±5.62)%, respectively. Ouabain could significantly inhibit the proliferation of HepG2, and presented in a dose-dependent manner(F=32.8, P less then 0.05). The ICC results showed that the chromosome separation disorders occurred in HepG2 cells treated with 1 μmol/L for 24 h, and the spindle diameter of HepG2 cells with ouabain treatment was decreased significantly compared with the control group(t=9.58, P less then 0.05). The results of western blot showed that the expression levels of AURKA, p-mTOR and p-ERK expressions in HepG2 cells treated with 1 μmol/L of ouabain were significantly decreased compared with the control group(F=16.26, 8.32, 33.59, P less then 0.05). Ouabain inhibited the growth of hepatocellular carcinoma cells in nude ****(F=370.20, P less then 0.05). Conclusion Ouabain can induce chromosome division disorder and inhibit the proliferation in liver cancer HepG2 cells by inhibiting AURKA signaling pathway.
As the foot and ankle subspecialty continues to grow in orthopaedics, trends in published literature provide valuable insights to help understand and strengthen the field. The current study evaluates the changes in the characteristics of foot and ankle articles in The Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery (American Volume) (JBJS-A) from 2004 to 2018.
Foot and ankle-related articles in JBJS-A from 2004 to 2018 were identified and categorized by type of study, level of evidence, number of authors, academic degree(s) of the first and last authors, male and female authorship, number of citations, number of references, region of publication, and use of patient-reported outcomes (PROs).
A total of 336 foot and ankle articles from 2004 to 2018 were reviewed. The type of study published has changed over time, with more clinical therapeutic evidence and less case reports. The level of evidence grades, as rated by JBJS-A and objective evaluators, have increased over the past 15 years. The total number of authors per article has increased, and female authorship has increased significantly. The number of references per article has increased, and the number of citations per year has decreased. The field of foot and ankle surgery has seen an increase in global publications.
The results of this study suggest that the foot and ankle literature that has been published in JBJS-A has continued to increase in quality and diversity over the past 15 years.

A variety of treatments, both psychopharmacological and nonpsychopharmacological, are used to manage combined ADHD/anxiety disorder. This article aims to review the literature on the treatment of ADHD with comorbid anxiety disorders, and make evidence-based recommendations for clinical practice. In most cases, when ADHD is the primary condition, stimulants are the first-line of treatment, frequently resulting not only in improvement in ADHD symptoms but also alleviating the symptoms of the comorbid anxiety disorder. Stimulant treatment is relatively safe and well-tolerated in ADHD with comorbid anxiety disorder. When the stimulant administration does not attenuate the severity of the comorbid anxiety disorder, a treatment that targets specifically the anxiety disorder should be added. This recommendation, however, might be challenged by the impressive efficacy of atomoxetine for both the ADHD and anxiety disorder symptoms. Adjunctive cognitive-behavior therapy for anxiety disorder symptoms is strongly recommended and is considered superior to medication alone. Other options include adding pharmacological treatment for the anxiety symptoms. Results After treating with 0.1, 1 and 10 μmol/L of ouabain for 24 h, the inhibitory rate of cells were (23.5±4.57)%, (49.80±5.32)%, and (72.10±5.62)%, respectively. Ouabain could significantly inhibit the proliferation of HepG2, and presented in a dose-dependent manner(F=32.8, P less then 0.05). The ICC results showed that the chromosome separation disorders occurred in HepG2 cells treated with 1 μmol/L for 24 h, and the spindle diameter of HepG2 cells with ouabain treatment was decreased significantly compared with the control group(t=9.58, P less then 0.05). Foot and ankle-related articles in JBJS-A from 2004 to 2018 were identified and categorized by type of study, level of evidence, number of authors, academic degree(s) of the first and last authors, male and female authorship, number of citations, number of references, region of publication, and use of patient-reported outcomes (PROs). A total of 336 foot and ankle articles from 2004 to 2018 were reviewed. The type of study published has changed over time, with more clinical therapeutic evidence and less case reports. The level of evidence grades, as rated by JBJS-A and objective evaluators, have increased over the past 15 years. The total number of authors per article has increased, and female authorship has increased significantly. The number of references per article has increased, and the number of citations per year has decreased. The field of foot and ankle surgery has seen an increase in global publications. This article aims to review the literature on the treatment of ADHD with comorbid anxiety disorders, and make evidence-based recommendations for clinical practice. In most cases, when ADHD is the primary condition, stimulants are the first-line of treatment, frequently resulting not only in improvement in ADHD symptoms but also alleviating the symptoms of the comorbid anxiety disorder. Stimulant treatment is relatively safe and well-tolerated in ADHD with comorbid anxiety disorder. The developed assay showed a good agreement with two widely used commercial kits for HER2 ECD quantification in serum samples from breast cancer patients. A complete characterization of mAb-HER2 ECD interaction was performed by means of surface plasmon resonance using trastuzumab as control for both epitope mapping and kinetics analysis. The epitopes recognized by the two mAbs showed no overlap with trastuzumab, which was confirmed by trastuzumab interference analysis in serum samples. The method showed to be a practical approach to determine HER2 ECD with a high degree of sensitivity, reliability and recovery in samples containing mAbs-based therapies.

Anti-programmed cell death protein-1/ligand-1 (anti-PD-1/PD-L1) therapy is promising for patients with non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC); however, clinical trials have focused on patients with a performance status (PS) 0 or 1. This study aimed to evaluate the clinical outcomes and correlation between PD-L1 expression status and tumor response to anti-PD-1/PD-L1 therapy among NSCLC patients with poor PS (i.e., PS ≥ 2).
In total, 130 patients with NSCLC and PS ≥ 2 treated with anti-PD-1/PD-L1 monotherapy at 12 institutions between January 2016 and August 2019 were retrospectively reviewed. PD-L1 expression status was divided into four groups < 1%, 1-49%, ≥ 50%, and unknown.
The objective response rate and PS improvement rate were 23 and 21% and were higher in the PD-L1 ≥ 50% group than in other groups (P < 0.01). Median progression-free survival (PFS) was 62days and was longer in the PD-L1 ≥ 50% group than in other groups (P = 0.03). Multivariate analyses revealed that PD-L1 expression is significantly associated with prolonged PFS (PD-L1 < 1%; reference; 1-49%, hazard ratio [HR] 0.19, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.04-0.99, P = 0.05; ≥ 50%, HR 0.12, 95% CI 0.02-0.71, P = 0.02; unknown, HR 0.30, 95% CI 0.08-1.22, P = 0.09).

However, low uptake in general, and among certain social groups in particular, underscores the need to identify and address barriers to PrEP use. Standard treatment for severe coronary artery disease (CAD) is coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). An underreported branch of the internal mammary artery, the lateral costal artery (LCA), can cause a steal phenomenon after CABG, resulting in angina. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence and length of LCA based on CT angiography (CTA). This retrospective study included adult patients undergoing a thoracic CTA between January 2016 and August 2018. Exclusion criteria were prior CABG, insufficient clinical information, or inadequate image quality. Two blinded, independent readers reviewed all studies for the prevalence of the LCA. Positive cases were reviewed by two readers (R1/R2) for side distribution and vessel length, measured in intercostal spaces (ICS). Study indication, aortic size, and coronary calcification were noted. LCA was present in up to 42/389 (11%) of studies (60.3 ± 16.7 years, 30 males).
