    Large-cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNEC) of the lung is a rare tumor with an aggressive clinical course. However, there is limited knowledge of its treatment strategy. This retrospective study aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of anti-programed death-1 (PD-1) blockade monotherapy in previously treated advanced LCNEC.

    Eleven patients with previously treated advanced LCNEC who received immune checkpoint inhibitor monotherapy between January 2015 and November 2020 were retrospectively analyzed for efficacy and safety.

    Of a total of 11 patients (median [range] age, 66 [37-79] years; 8 men [73%] and 3 women [27%]), 8 patients had performance status (PS) 0-1 [73%] and 3 patients had PS 2 [27%]; 9 patients received 1 prior chemotherapy [82%] and 2 patients received 2 prior chemotherapies [18%]. The median follow-up duration was 4.6 months. Although PD-1 blockade was administered at median cycles of 3 (range, 1-12), overall response rate, median progression-free survival, and median overall survival were 9.1%, 2.7 months, and 4.6 months, respectively. Any adverse events were observed in 9 patients (82%), including 1 patient with grade 3 pneumonitis as a serious adverse event.

    We present a case of ACC with a large defect of the scalp and the underlying bone treated with the use of Integra® Dermal regeneration template. At 5 months of follow-up, the wound is completely healed and the bony defect greatly reduced. Contraction of the area of alopecia was observed.

  • ental well-being.PURPOSE The purpose of this study was to explore self-esteem and associations between self-esteem and sociodemographic, clinical, and psychological factors in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), a disease of chronic relapsing inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract. IBD symptoms, including pain, fatigue, and diarrhea, as well as potential life-long medical treatment and surgery, may be demanding, cause significant challenges, and influence self-esteem. METHODS In this cross-sectional multicenter study, participants were recruited from nine hospitals in the southeastern and western regions of Norway from March 2013 to April 2014. Data were collected using self-report questionnaires. Self-esteem was assessed by the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, fatigue was assessed by the Fatigue Questionnaire, self-efficacy was assessed by the General Self-Efficacy Scale, and disease activity was assessed by the Simple Clinical Colitis Activity Index for ulcerative colitis (UC) and Harvey Bradshaw Index for Crohn's disease (CD). Multiple linear regression analysis was applied to examine associations between self-esteem and sociodemographic, clinical, and psychological factors. RESULTS In total, 411 of 452 (91%) patients had evaluable data and were included in this study. The mean scores on self-esteem, self-efficacy, total fatigue, anxiety, and depression were similar between UC patients and CD patients. Male gender, being employed, and higher self-efficacy were independently associated with higher self-esteem, whereas anxiety and depression were independently associated with lower self-esteem. Neither disease activity nor fatigue were associated with self-esteem in the final multiple regression analyses. CONCLUSION Patient-centered interventions that improve self-esteem and reduce anxiety and depression seem to be important to optimize IBD management.Methyl-CpG binding protein 2 (MeCP2) is a basic nuclear protein involved in the regulation of gene expression and microRNA processing. Numerous studies have compared the time courses of these two types of attention, and have demonstrated that exogenous attention is fast and transient and endogenous attention is relatively slow but sustained. In the present study we investigated whether and how the temporal dynamics of exogenous and endogenous attention differ in terms of where attention is deployed in the visual field, in particular at locations nearby or far from fixation. Across a series of experiments, we measured attentional shift times for each type of attention, and found overall slower deployment of endogenous relative to exogenous attention, in line with previous research. Importantly, we also consistently found that it takes longer to deploy attention at more distant locations relative to nearby locations, regardless of how attention was instigated. We investigated the emotional function of irony by asking whether irony intensifies or mitigates negative feelings. Experiment 1 used ratings to assess the mental state of a speaker using irony or literal language following a negative event in either a high- or a low-emotional context. We found that regardless of context emotionality, speakers using irony were perceived as being in a less negative and less aroused mental state than speakers using literal language. In Experiment 2, we examined the time course of this process with ERPs. Initially, literal statements elicited a larger N100 than irony, regardless of context emotionality, suggesting that irony mitigates negative feelings overall. Later on, irony elicited a larger LPC than literal statements in high emotion contexts, but not in low emotion contexts. This suggests that irony required more mental state processing or/and more speaker emotion processing than literal language in emotionally loaded situations. In this pilot study, we evaluated the acceptability and feasibility of incorporating Contingency Management (CM) into a public Abstinent-Contingent Housing (ACH) treatment program developed to treat currently homeless crack cocaine users. A total of 21 homeless crack cocaine users were randomized to receive 12 weeks of ACH alone (n = 9) or ACH plus CM (ACH + CM) (n = 12). Twelve treatment providers in the ACH treatment program were trained to deliver the CM intervention. CM was rated as relatively (41.7%) or very (58.3%) easy to understand and relatively (50%) or very (50%) easy to conduct by the ACH treatment providers. Numerous studies have compared the time courses of these two types of attention, and have demonstrated that exogenous attention is fast and transient and endogenous attention is relatively slow but sustained. In the present study we investigated whether and how the temporal dynamics of exogenous and endogenous attention differ in terms of where attention is deployed in the visual field, in particular at locations nearby or far from fixation. Across a series of experiments, we measured attentional shift times for each type of attention, and found overall slower deployment of endogenous relative to exogenous attention, in line with previous research. Importantly, we also consistently found that it takes longer to deploy attention at more distant locations relative to nearby locations, regardless of how attention was instigated. We investigated the emotional function of irony by asking whether irony intensifies or mitigates negative feelings. Experiment 1 used ratings to assess the mental state of a speaker using irony or literal language following a negative event in either a high- or a low-emotional context. We found that regardless of context emotionality, speakers using irony were perceived as being in a less negative and less aroused mental state than speakers using literal language. In Experiment 2, we examined the time course of this process with ERPs. Initially, literal statements elicited a larger N100 than irony, regardless of context emotionality, suggesting that irony mitigates negative feelings overall. Later on, irony elicited a larger LPC than literal statements in high emotion contexts, but not in low emotion contexts. This suggests that irony required more mental state processing or/and more speaker emotion processing than literal language in emotionally loaded situations. In this pilot study, we evaluated the acceptability and feasibility of incorporating Contingency Management (CM) into a public Abstinent-Contingent Housing (ACH) treatment program developed to treat currently homeless crack cocaine users. A total of 21 homeless crack cocaine users were randomized to receive 12 weeks of ACH alone (n = 9) or ACH plus CM (ACH + CM) (n = 12). Twelve treatment providers in the ACH treatment program were trained to deliver the CM intervention. Here a rare case of true idiopathic distal RAA, which was managed by surgical resection and repair with interposition vein graft, is described.

    A 62 year old female with a known medical history of hypertension and hyperlipidaemia presented with left wrist swelling of one year duration, associated with a pulsatile lump that was increasing in size. Duplex ultrasound and computed tomography angiography revealed a distal RAA. She underwent open surgical resection and repair with interposition vein graft using the distal left cephalic vein. Histopathology of the specimen revealed an aneurysm with atherosclerosis. She recovered well post-operatively with no complications.

    transfer of peritoneum into a functional artery like conduit after end to end anastomosis into the common carotid artery of sheep. The aim was to investigate whether implantation of a peritoneal tube into the arterial tree results in a structure with function, histological findings, and gene expression like an artery, and whether such arterialisation occurs through a conversion of the phenotype of peritoneal cells or from host cell migration into the implant.

    Peritoneum with adherent rectus aponeurosis from sheep was used to form tubular vascular grafts that were implanted into the common carotid artery of six sheep, then removed after five months. Two sheep received allogenic peritoneal grafts and four sheep received autologous peritoneal grafts.

    One sheep died shortly after implantation, so five of the six sheep were followed. Five months after implantation, four of the five remaining ically and functionally resembled a normal artery, with a functional genetic expression that resembled that of an artery. Single nucleotide polymorphism analysis indicated that this conversion occurs through host cell migration into the graft.
    Fenestrated branched endovascular aortic repair with custom manufactured devices (CMDs) has been applied to treat post-dissection thoraco-abdominal aortic aneurysms (TAAA), but the long waiting period for device manufacture limits its application in symptomatic or contained ruptured aneurysms.

    A 59 year old female presented with a 7 cm chronic post-dissection extent II TAAA. The patient underwent first stage total arch repair with the elephant trunk technique. At the time of the initial placement of the thoracic stent graft a fenestration was created in the septum to perfuse the right renal artery, which originated from the false lumen. A second stage procedure was planned with a CMD, but the patient presented with severe chest pain and lower extremity weakness, which was attributed to compression of the true lumen below the renal arteries due to increased flow into a pressurised false lumen. The patient underwent successful repair using a physician modified endograft (PMEG) with four fenestrations and pributed to pressurisation of the false lumen. PMEGs remain a valuable option for TAAA repair, including chronic post-dissection aneurysms. Their application is particularly useful in symptomatic patients who are not candidates for an off the shelf endograft and cannot wait for a device to be manufactured.
    The adjunctive use of Heli-FX EndoAnchors (EAs) in endovascular aneurysm repair has been proposed for the treatment or prevention of type Ia endoleaks. The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of the penetration of EAs on endograft textile structure from two aortic endografts that had been explanted for persistent type Ia endoleak despite the implantation of EAs.

    An Aorfix aortic endograft was implanted in an 85 year old man. Six months later, six EAs were implanted for Ia endoleak. The endograft was explanted as an emergency seven months later for aneurysm rupture. An Endurant II aortic endograft was implanted in an 80 year old man. Seven EAs were implanted 24 months later for type Ia endoleak. A proximal cuff extension with bilateral renal and superior mesenteric artery chimneys was performed 18 months later to treat a persistent type Ia endoleak. Endograft explantation was performed six months later owing to persistent type Ia endoleak and aneurysm sac enlargement. Explant analysis in both cases was performed at GEPROVAS.

  • Fruit flies rely on an intricate neural pathway to process polarized light signals in order to inform their internal compass about the position of the Sun.Glutamate uptake by astroglial transporters confines excitatory transmission to the synaptic cleft. The efficiency of this mechanism depends on the transporter dynamics in the astrocyte membrane, which remains poorly understood. Here, we visualise the main glial glutamate transporter GLT1 by generating its pH-sensitive fluorescent analogue, GLT1-SEP. Fluorescence recovery after photobleaching-based imaging shows that 70-75% of GLT1-SEP dwell on the surface of rat brain astroglia, recycling with a lifetime of ~22 s. Genetic deletion of the C-terminus accelerates GLT1-SEP membrane turnover while disrupting its surface pattern, as revealed by single-molecule localisation microscopy. Excitatory activity boosts surface mobility of GLT1-SEP, involving its C-terminus, metabotropic glutamate receptors, intracellular Ca2+, and calcineurin-phosphatase activity, but not the broad-range kinase activity. The results suggest that membrane turnover, rather than lateral diffusion, is the main 'redeployment' route for the immobile fraction (20-30%) of surface-expressed GLT1. Infants who underwent muscle biopsy from January 2010 to March 2017 at a tertiary hospital were included in the study (N = 87; 64 boys (73.6%), 23 girls (26.4%); age range 0 - 2 years; mean age 9.73 ± 7.04 months). Clinical and histopathologic data were obtained from medical records. Developmental delay (64.4%) and hypotonia (59.8%) were the most frequent clinical findings, and mitochondrial disease (61%) was the most frequent clinical diagnosis, followed by muscular dystrophy (15.9%) and congenital myopathy (11.5%). Creatine kinase level was normal in 65.9% and > 1,000 U/L in 17.1%. Specific pathologic findings were identified from 38 biopsies (43.7%).     Polymorphous low-grade neuroepithelial tumor of the young (PLNTY) is a rare entity with a diffuse, infiltrative pattern, awaiting to be included in the WHO CNS tumor classification; it occurs in pediatric and young patients with seizures and harbors mutually exclusive BRAFV600E or FGFR mutations. Nonetheless, the presence of these mutations may not be obligatory for diagnosis. The conventional histology of these tumors resembles that of oligodendrogliomas. We aimed to discuss a PLNTY case in a young woman presenting with seizures due to a parietal brain tumor and to provide an analysis of the literature. Histopathologically the tumor was consistent of oligodendroglioma-like neoplastic cells showing almost diffuse CD34 and olig-2 staining, retained ATRX expression, p53-negativity, and a low Ki67 index with no necrosis or microvascular proliferation.

The pathogenic mechanisms of IgG4-RD are divided into two sections one focused on potential initiation mechanisms, particularly genetic, and the other on specific pathological pathways. For the specific pathological pathways, cellular immunity, particularly T-cell mediated immunity, has been implicated in the pathogenesis of IgG4-RD. Renal involvement may manifest as an intrinsic IgG4-related kidney disease (IgG4-RKD) or as a consequence of ureteric obstruction from retroperitoneal fibrosis. Intrinsic kidney disease is most commonly a tubulointerstitial nephritis, but may also present with a variety of glomerular lesions, in particular membranous nephropathy. The first-line treatment of IgG4-RKD is steroids. The long-term side effects of corticosteroids including diabetes, relapses, and resistance to corticosteroid therapy have prompted some experts to use immunosuppressive agents such as rituximab.     We performed a Bayesian network meta-analysis combining direct and indirect evidence from randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to examine the efficacy and safety of tofacitinib and mavrilimumab combined with DMARDs in patients with an inadequate response to DMARDs.

    In total, 8 RCTs with 2,965 patients met inclusion criteria. 21 pairwise comparisons were performed, including 12 direct comparisons of 7 interventions. In patients with active RA and an inadequate DMARD response, mavrilimumab 150 mg+methotrexate (MTX) and mavrilimumab 100 mg+MTX were the most effective treatments. Compared with placebo+MTX, all tofacitinib and mavrilimumab doses, except mavrilimumab 50mg+MTX, achieved significant ACR20 responses. The efficiency of this mechanism depends on the transporter dynamics in the astrocyte membrane, which remains poorly understood. Here, we visualise the main glial glutamate transporter GLT1 by generating its pH-sensitive fluorescent analogue, GLT1-SEP. Fluorescence recovery after photobleaching-based imaging shows that 70-75% of GLT1-SEP dwell on the surface of rat brain astroglia, recycling with a lifetime of ~22 s. Genetic deletion of the C-terminus accelerates GLT1-SEP membrane turnover while disrupting its surface pattern, as revealed by single-molecule localisation microscopy.     Randomized controlled with seven to 12-year-olds, assigned to either experimental (CO-OP+OPC) or control (CO-OP) group, both receiving traditional CO-OP, with four additional parental group sessions for the experimental group.

    Actual and perceived occupational performance and satisfaction of children's chosen goals and participation, motor performance and executive function. Measures will be obtained at baseline, post-intervention, and at 3-month follow-up.

Death records obtained from North Carolina Vital Records were linked to EMS patient care records obtained from the county EMS System in order to describe the EMS encounters of each decedent in the year preceding their death. Patient demographics and EMS encounters were assessed to identify encounter characteristics that may be targeted for intervention. Chi-square tests and odds ratios were used to evaluate and characterize the statistical significance of differences in EMS utiliza of individuals who died from accidental opioid overdose utilized EMS in the year before their death and nearly one-fifth had a drug-related encounter. EMS encounters may present an opportunity to identify individuals at-risk of opioid overdose and, ultimately, reduce overdose mortality.Background In May 2019, the International Society for Aerosols in Medicine (ISAM) and the International Pharmaceutical Aerosol Consortium on Regulation and Science (IPAC-RS) held a one-day workshop on digital health tools for respiratory therapies, with speakers representing views of patients, pharmaceutical and technology companies, physicians, and payors. Methods Workshop presentations, audience discussions, and research of relevant literature form the basis of this article. Results Conversations and publications to date illustrate the broad, and growing, interest in digital technologies, but also highlight a few gaps. The key messages are (1) There are many great technologies, from simple to complex, but there is still an imperfect understanding of the problems that digital tools need to solve. Few food poisoning cases caused by DON have been reported since the 1990s in China. However, on May 16, 2019, the Zhuhai Center for Disease Control and Prevention received a case report from primary school "S" that many students began vomiting after eating breakfast. To discern the cause and control the outbreak effectively, an epidemiological investigation was carried out. This retrospective cohort study defined both suspected and probable cases of food poisoning using ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with triple quadrupole mass spectrometry to detect 16 mycotoxins simultaneously. A total of 101 cases (14 suspected and 87 probable) were identified, with an overall attack rate of 8.1%. All cases were in grades 1-3. The main symptoms of probable cases were vomiting (100%) and nausea (63%). The average incubation time was 25 min after eating. Comparison of students who ate breakfast provided by the school with those who did not revealed the relative risk was 6.0 (95% confidence intervals [CI] = 2.2-16) among students in grades 1-3. The concentration of DON in the leftover raw breakfast noodles ranged from 6856 to 11,982 μg/kg and 878.3 to 1074.2 μg/kg in leftover cooked noodles. DON exposure was 1.3-1.6 μg/kg body weight for grades 1-2 and 1.7-2.1 μg/kg body weight for grade 3. The attack rate of grade 3 was 4.3 times higher than that for grades 1-2 (95% CI = 3.0-6.3). In this study, brain samples of 422 slaughtered goats were collected from slaughterhouses in Henan and Anhui provinces, Central China, and examined for the presence of T. gondii and N. caninum by nested polymerase chain reaction (PCR) based on B1 and NC5 genes, respectively. The prevalence of T. gondii and N. caninum DNA was 5.2% and 2.8%, respectively. No significant differences were found between the prevalences of two parasite infections and animal age, sex, and region (p > 0.05). Two of 22 T. gondii-positive samples were completely genotyped at 11 genetic markers (SAG1, [3' + 5'] SAG2, alternative SAG2 [alt. SAG2], SAG3, BTUB, GRA6, c22-8, c29-2, L358, PK1, and Apico) using PCR-restriction fragment length polymorphism, and were identified as genotype ToxoDB no. 225, which has not been previously reported in goats in any country worldwide. A total of 101 cases (14 suspected and 87 probable) were identified, with an overall attack rate of 8.1%. All cases were in grades 1-3. The main symptoms of probable cases were vomiting (100%) and nausea (63%). The average incubation time was 25 min after eating. The aim of this study was to investigate the expression of the US31 gene in GC tissue and assess its role in the occurrence and development of GC. US31 expression in 573 cancer tissues was analyzed using immunohistochemistry. The purpose of this study was to validate the correlation between FOXO3A expression and oncological outcomes in UTUC.

    The expression levels of FOXO3A in 107 UTUC patients were examined by immunohistochemistry (IHC). We examined the prognostic role of FOXO3A by using the Cox proportional hazard model.

    The results indicated that FOXO3A expression was notably decreased in UTUC tissue compared with control tissue. Decreased expression of FOXO3A was also related to advanced pathologic stage (

It turns out that elderly with diabetes report having a need for health care and social support to improve the quality of their life. More than half of the surveyed respondents (52%) over the age of 65 who were diagnosed with diabetes need health and social assistance and nursing home patronage to improve their quality of life. A high percentage (60%) of those surveyed also need information with regard to the treatment; 50% with regard to nutri-tion, 39% with regard to exercise and 50% with regard to the complications from diabetes.Flourishing is of great importance in all age groups, but it becomes even more important in the aging period. The reliability of the instrument was assessed by Cronbach's alpha coefficient, split-half coefficient, and stability by the test-retest method. Smallest detectable change and Standard error of measurement were calculated, too. Persian version of the PERMA-Profiler with 14 items had a good correlation coefficient between with Geriatric Depression Scale and CASP-19 (0/545 GDS and 0,303 CASP-19).   • Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is associated with metaplastic changes in the pancreas but the transcriptional program underlying these changes is incompletely understood. The zinc finger transcription factor, PRDM3, is lowly expressed in normal pancreatic acini and its expression increases during tumorigenesis. In this study, we showed that high levels of PRDM3 expression in human pancreas was associated with pancreatitis, and well-differentiated but not poorly differentiated carcinoma. We examined PRDM3 function in pancreatic acinar cells during tumor formation and pancreatitis by inactivating Prdm3 using a conditional allele (Ptf1aCreER;Prdm3flox/flox ****) in the context of oncogenic Kras expression and supraphysiological cerulein injections, respectively. In Prdm3-deficient ****, KrasG12D-driven preneoplastic lesions were more abundant and progressed to high-grade precancerous lesions more rapidly. This is consistent with our observations that low levels of PRDM3 in human PDAC was correlated significantly with poorer survival in patient. Moreover, loss of Prdm3 in acinar cells elevated exocrine injury, enhanced immune cell activation and infiltration, and greatly increased acinar-to-ductal cell reprogramming upon cerulein-induced pancreatitis. Whole transcriptome analyses of Prdm3 knockout acini revealed that pathways involved in inflammatory response and Hif-1 signaling were significantly upregulated in Prdm3-depleted acinar cells. Here, we perform molecular dynamics simulations for Caulobacter crescentus MreB to extract mechanical parameters for inputs into a coarse-grained biophysical polymer model that successfully predicts MreB filament properties in vivo. Our analyses indicate that MreB double protofilaments can exhibit left-handed twisting that is dependent on the bound nucleotide and membrane binding; the degree of twisting correlates with the length and orientation of MreB filaments observed in vitro and in vivo. Our molecular dynamics simulations also suggest that membrane binding of MreB double protofilaments induces a stable membrane curvature of similar magnitude to that observed in vivo. MATERIAL AND METHODS The global literature was searched between 2018 to 2019 for publications related to rehabilitation after TKA. Publication data were identified using relevant search terms and the Web of Science Core Collection database. The emerging research topics included epidural analgesia, physiotherapy, postoperative analgesia, recovery, and the use of ropivacaine local analgesia. CONCLUSIONS The findings from this bibliometric study provided insight into trends in clinical research publications in the field of rehabilitation following TKA for the past 20 years, including global trends in emerging areas of research.
    Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is associated with metaplastic changes in the pancreas but the transcriptional program underlying these changes is incompletely understood. The zinc finger transcription factor, PRDM3, is lowly expressed in normal pancreatic acini and its expression increases during tumorigenesis. Mushrooms have an important role in sustainability since they have long been used as valuable food source and traditional medicine around the world. Regrettably, they are among the most rigorously affected populations, along with several plants and animals, due to the destructive activities of mankind. Thus the authentication and conservation of mushroom species are constantly needed to exploit the remarkable potential in them. In this perspective, an attempt has been made to identify and assess the biological attributes of psychedelic mushrooms collected from Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu, India. The macromorphological features of the psychedelic mushroom DPT1 helped its presumptive identification and the molecular characters depicted by DNA marker revealed its close relationship with the genus Psilocybe. Accordingly, the psychedelic mushroom was identified as Psilocybe cubensis DPT1 and its crude ethyl acetate extract on analysis revealed the occurrence of phytoconstituents like alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins and carbohydrates. Moreover, it exhibited 80% larvicidal activity against Culex quinquefasciatus mosquito at 800 ppm concentration and an array of antibacterial effects with utmost susceptibility of Proteus vulgaris, and the identification of bioactive compounds by different analytical techniques substantiate that the bioactivities might be due to the presence of phytochemicals. The results of the study indicated that the extract of P. cubensis DPT1 having notable antibacterial and mosquito larvicidal efficacies which could be probed further for the isolation of medicinally important as well as bio-control compounds. Streptococcus pneumoniae (pneumococcus) is touted to be the generally found pathogen in patients with respiratory issues and there is an epidemiologic linkage present between Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). This study aim at investigating the interaction between RSV and two serotypes of S. pneumoniae using a distinct animal model and a well-established colonizing pneumococcal strain. Phase variants phenotype of each strain was determined under oblique light. Co infection model was developed using BALB/c **** housed in a BSL-2 facility. Coinfection experiments were performed and number of bacterial colonies was quantified and phase determination was evaluated. RSV was detected in sample through real-time quantitative PCR. Adherence assays were performed to determine adherence of Spn strains and its knock out ΔNanA to nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) epithelial CNE3 cell line. The biofilm viability was determined and phase composition was counted using plate count. Neuraminidase activity was measured in fluoroion of the opaque and the transparent variant was increased many folds, which was a significant differences. The extent of nasal colonization by the ΔNanA mutant strain were significantly reduced post-bacterial infection for both type of wild-type (P  less then  0.05). In this study, a glucan BCS004 was obtained containing (1-6)-branched (1-3)-β-D-glucan with low molecular weight and a high purity of 90 and 91.7% for one and 4 h, respectively. β-D-glucan BCS004 showed higher antioxidant activity, including DPPH radical and superoxide anion scavenging, β-carotene bleaching inhibition, and iron chelation activity. An in vitro study showed that β-D-glucan BCS004 was safe for peripheral blood leukocytes inducing proliferative effects. Moreover, in an in vivo study using β-D-glucan BCS004 no histopathological damages or intestinal inflammation were observed in fish. The gene expression analysis highlighted that dietary β-D-glucan BCS004 could also up-regulate glucan and macrophage receptor genes in intestine, such as C-type lectin (CTL) and macrophage mannose receptors (MMR). We investigated the effects of TUG1 on miR-142-5p and SOCS1expression, cell viability, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) release, production of nitrite and PGE2 after TNF-α treatment in HT-29 cells. We also investigated the effects of TUG1 on TNF-α-induced IL-6, IL-8 and IL-1β expression in HT-29 cells. We detected down-regulated TUG1 level in colonic mucosa tissue of UC patients and in TNF-α-treated HT-29 cells.
