The new method also achieves a comparable speech enhancement effect to the state-of-the-art method.Understanding the properties of defects is crucial to design higher performance semiconductor materials because they influence the electronic and optical properties significantly. Using ab initio calculations, the dynamics properties of nitrogen interstitial in GaN material, including the configuration, migration, and interaction with vacancy were systematically investigated in the present work. By introducing different sites of foreign nitrogen atom, the most stable configuration of nitrogen interstitial was calculated to show a threefold symmetry in each layer and different charge states were characterized, respectively. In the researches of migration, two migration paths, in-plane and out-of-plane, were considered. With regards to the in-plane migration, an intermediated rotation process was observed first time. Due to this rotation behavior, two different barriers were demonstrated to reveal that the migration is an anisotropic behavior. Additionally, charged nitrogen Frenkel pair was found to be a relatively stable defect complex and its well separation distance was about 3.9 Å. Part of our results are in good agreement with the experimental results, and our work provides underlying insights of the identification and dynamics of nitrogen interstitial in GaN material. Effective preclinical models, therefore, should be based on a comparable level of complexity. In the past years, there has been a consistent increase in the number of available CCA models. The exploitation of even more complex CCA models is rising. Examples are the use of CRISPR/Cas9 or stabilized organoids for in vitro studies, as well as patient-derived xenografts or transgenic mouse models for in vivo applications. Here, we examine the available preclinical CCA models exploited to investigate (i) carcinogenesis processes from initiation to progression; and (ii) tools for personalized therapy and innovative therapeutic approaches, including chemotherapy and immune/targeted therapies. For each model, we describe the potential applications, highlighting both its advantages and limits.The construction sector generates 14,000 t/d of construction waste in Mexico City, these materials do not have real applications and end up accumulating in landfills. This work, the objective of which was to analyze the physicochemical and mineralogical properties of soil and construction waste used in the manufacture of Recoblocks, is divided in five stages. First, the excavation material was submitted to field tests. Physical and chemical tests were then carried out on construction waste. Subsequently, the optimal mixture for making Recoblocks was determined. Next, Recoblocks were evaluated and compared with blocks made with water only, without mucilage of Opuntia ficus, and finally a feasibility study was performed. The X-ray diffraction study showed the presence of plagioclase, minerals that improve bending resistance, hardness, durability, as well as resistance to stress in a material. Compared to blocks manufactured without mucilage, the use of Opuntia ficus mucilage increased the compressive strength of the material by 59%, as well as the erodibility. Recoblocks are an environmentally friendly option because they are based on recycled materials, dried under the sun, which eliminates the use of brick oven. The production cost per unit is just USD 0.19, so it is a viable option as a building material.Underwater object identification by optical sensors is usually difficult in turbid or dark environments. The objective of this paper was to identify different underwater materials using active electrolocation technology. We proposed a bionic sensor inspired by the weakly electric fish. The material identification was completed by analyzing electric signal images, since the electric signal changes when different materials are identified. Firstly, the effective lift-off distance for identification was researched. The materials used in this paper can be effectively identified by the sensor at a lift-off distance of 10 mm. Furthermore, the performance of the sensor for identifying and locating was studied in the presence of multiple materials. The results indicated that the sensor can effectively identify and locate the objects when the distance between objects is greater than 30 mm, while the location error is less than 5% in most cases. Our research proves that the bionic sensor we made can effectively recognize different materials underwater in short-range, which is about 10 mm.

The effect of preoperative cardiac troponin level on outcomes after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) is unclear. We investigated the impact of preoperative cardiac troponin I (cTnI) level as well as the time interval between maximum cTnI and surgery on CABG outcomes.
All patients who underwent isolated CABG at our institution between 2009 and 2016 and had preoperative cTnI level available were identified using our Society of Thoracic Surgeons registry. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis was performed to identify a cTnI threshold level. Subjects were divided into groups based on this value and outcomes compared.
A total of 608 patients were included. ROC analysis identified 5.74 µg/dL as the threshold value associated with worse postoperative outcomes. Patients with peak cTnI >5.74 µg/dL underwent CABG approximately 1 day later, had twice the risk of adverse postoperative events, and had 2.8 day longer postoperative length of stay than those with peak cTnI ≤5.74 µg/dL. cTnI level was not associated with mortality or 30-day readmission. Time interval between peak cTnI and surgery did not affect outcomes.

Legionella pneumophila and Coxiella burnetii, the causative agents of Legionnaires' disease and Q fever, respectively, harbour RCC1 repeat coding genes. Legionella pneumophila secretes the RCC1 repeat 'effector' proteins LegG1, PpgA and PieG into eukaryotic host cells, where they promote the activation of the pleiotropic small GTPase Ran, microtubule stabilisation, pathogen vacuole motility and intracellular bacterial growth as well as host cell migration. The RCC1 repeat effectors localise to the pathogen vacuole or the host plasma membrane and target distinct components of the Ran GTPase cycle, including Ran modulators and the small GTPase itself. Coxiella burnetii translocates the RCC1 repeat effector NopA into host cells, where the protein localises to nucleoli. NopA binds to Ran GTPase and promotes the nuclear accumulation of Ran(GTP), thus pertubing the import of the transcription factor NF-κB and innate immune signalling. Hence, divergent evolution of bacterial RCC1 repeat effectors defines the range of Ran GTPase cycle targets and likely allows fine-tuning of Ran GTPase activation by the pathogens at different cellular sites.
Differences in saccadic eye movements are widely reported in mental illnesses, and can indirectly inform our understanding of neurobiological and cognitive underpinnings of psychiatric conditions, including anorexia nervosa (AN). Preliminary research has suggested that individuals with AN may show specific eye movement abnormalities; whether these deficits are representative of state or trait effects is, however, unclear. The aim of this study was to identify whether there are demonstrable differences in performance on saccadic eye movement tasks in individuals with current AN (c-AN), those who are weight-restored from AN (wr-AN), biological sisters of individuals with AN (AN-sis), and healthy controls (HC).
Eighty participants took part in the study (n = 20/group). A set of saccadic eye movement tasks was administered, including prosaccade, antisaccade, memory-guided saccade, and visual scanpath tasks.
The c-AN group showed an increased rate of inhibitory errors to 10° targets on the memory-guided saccade task.
The results are discussed in terms of the potential role of the superior colliculus in AN, and that the findings may reflect a state measure of AN.

The decision of whether to continue oral anticoagulation therapy (OAT) after successful surgical ablation of atrial fibrillation is challenging, and current guidelines provide no specific recommendations on whether or not it is safe to terminate OAT. Therefore, the aim of this study was to assess long-term outcomes in patients who either did or did not, receive OAT after surgical ablation of atrial fibrillation.
In a prospective follow-up study, patients were included if surgical ablation of atrial fibrillation concomitantly with other cardiac surgery was done, between 2004 and 2018 at Aarhus University Hospital, Denmark. After 12 months, OAT was discontinued if (a) sinus rhythm was documented by electrocardiogram, (b) atrial fibrillation was absent on 5-day Holter monitoring, (c) CHADS

For alleviating negative impacts, more and more experiments have been carried out to explore the application possibility of steel ****. The purpose of this study is to explore the feasibility of steel **** being applied in induction healing asphalt concretes to replace coarse and fine aggregate. Surface texture and pore sizes of steel **** were firstly tested, and then steel **** and basalt asphalt mixtures modified with steel fibers were prepared. Moisture susceptibility, dynamic stability, mechanical property, thermal property, induction heating speed, natural cooling speed and healing property of the asphalt mixtures were evaluated. Results showed that steel slags had more obvious holes in the surface while the surface area is **** larger than that of basalt. Furthermore, steel fibers and steel **** both have dynamic stability, and steel fibers contribute to increased moisture resistance while steel **** is not. Steel **** asphalt concrete showed better mechanical property and better capacity to store heating. Steel **** asphalt mixtures had a similar heating speed to basalt asphalt mixtures but a significantly slower cooling rate. Finally, the induction healing test and CT scanning test demonstrated that steel **** asphalt mixtures had a similar healing ability to basalt asphalt mixtures. It can be concluded that steel slags have the potential to replace the natural aggregates to be applied in induction heating self-healing asphalt concretes.BACKGROUND International treatment guidelines for Helicobacter pylori infection recommend a proton pump inhibitor (PPI)/amoxicillin/clarithromycin (CAM) regimen (PAC) or PPI/amoxicillin/metronidazole (MNZ) regimen (PAM) as first-line therapy based on culture and sensitivity testing. As incidence rates of antimicrobial agent-resistant strains are changing year by year, it is important to reevaluate the efficacy of eradication regimens. We performed a meta-analysis to evaluate the efficacy and safety of PAC and PAM based on different locations categorized by the reported incidence of CAM- and MNZ-resistant strains. METHODS Randomized control trials (RCTs) comparing eradication rates between PAC and PAM first-line treatment up to December 2018 were included. We divided RCTs into four groups based on resistance to CAM ( less then 15% or ≥ 15%) and MNZ ( less then 15% or ≥ 15%). RESULTS A total of 27 studies (4825 patients) were included. Overall eradication rates between PAC and PAM were similar (74.8% and 72.5%, relative risk (RR) 1.13, 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.91-1.39, P = 0.27) in the intention-to-treat analysis. In areas with low MNZ- and high CAM-resistance rates, PAM had a significantly higher eradication rate than PAC (92.5% vs. 70.8%, RR 0.29, 95% CI 0.13-0.68). In areas with high MNZ- and low CAM-resistance rates, the eradication rate with PAC was only 72.9%. CONCLUSIONS Overall eradication rates with PAC and PAM were equivalent worldwide. In low MNZ-resistance areas, PAM may be recommended as first-line therapy. However, the efficacy of PAC may be insufficient, irrespective of susceptibility to CAM.Outcomes for pediatric patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) remain poor, highlighting the need for improved targeted therapies. For alleviating negative impacts, more and more experiments have been carried out to explore the application possibility of steel slag. The purpose of this study is to explore the feasibility of steel slag being applied in induction healing asphalt concretes to replace coarse and fine aggregate. Surface texture and pore sizes of steel slag were firstly tested, and then steel slag and basalt asphalt mixtures modified with steel fibers were prepared. Moisture susceptibility, dynamic stability, mechanical property, thermal property, induction heating speed, natural cooling speed and healing property of the asphalt mixtures were evaluated. Results showed that steel slags had more obvious holes in the surface while the surface area is much larger than that of basalt. Furthermore, steel fibers and steel slag both have dynamic stability, and steel fibers contribute to increased moisture resistance while steel slag is not. Steel slag asphalt concrete showed better mechanical property and better capacity to store heating. Steel slag asphalt mixtures had a similar heating speed to basalt asphalt mixtures but a significantly slower cooling rate. Finally, the induction healing test and CT scanning test demonstrated that steel slag asphalt mixtures had a similar healing ability to basalt asphalt mixtures. It can be concluded that steel slags have the potential to replace the natural aggregates to be applied in induction heating self-healing asphalt concretes.BACKGROUND International treatment guidelines for Helicobacter pylori infection recommend a proton pump inhibitor (PPI)/amoxicillin/clarithromycin (CAM) regimen (PAC) or PPI/amoxicillin/metronidazole (MNZ) regimen (PAM) as first-line therapy based on culture and sensitivity testing. As incidence rates of antimicrobial agent-resistant strains are changing year by year, it is important to reevaluate the efficacy of eradication regimens. We performed a meta-analysis to evaluate the efficacy and safety of PAC and PAM based on different locations categorized by the reported incidence of CAM- and MNZ-resistant strains. METHODS Randomized control trials (RCTs) comparing eradication rates between PAC and PAM first-line treatment up to December 2018 were included. We divided RCTs into four groups based on resistance to CAM ( less then 15% or ≥ 15%) and MNZ ( less then 15% or ≥ 15%). RESULTS A total of 27 studies (4825 patients) were included. Overall eradication rates between PAC and PAM were similar (74.8% and 72.5%, relative risk (RR) 1.13, 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.91-1.39, P = 0.27) in the intention-to-treat analysis. In areas with low MNZ- and high CAM-resistance rates, PAM had a significantly higher eradication rate than PAC (92.5% vs. 70.8%, RR 0.29, 95% CI 0.13-0.68). In areas with high MNZ- and low CAM-resistance rates, the eradication rate with PAC was only 72.9%. CONCLUSIONS Overall eradication rates with PAC and PAM were equivalent worldwide. In low MNZ-resistance areas, PAM may be recommended as first-line therapy. Presenteeism is undoubtedly a widespread phenomenon in organizations. Research on presenteeism has been conducted for decades in the broader workforce (eg, nurses, doctors, teachers, police officers). Occupational stress and turnover intention in occupational therapy have been extensively studied. However, the effect of presenteeism on the relationship between occupational stress and resultant turnover intention among occupational therapists is unclear. This study aims to explore the mediating effect of presenteeism and moderating effect of perceived organizational support in the relationship between occupational stress and turnover intention among occupational therapists in Korea.
We conducted an individual and cross-sectional analysis of 257 occupational therapists from various health care institutions in Korea. Data were collected and hypotheses were tested via Process macro. Quantitative analyses were conducted with SPSS 26 and LISREL 8.54.
Occupational stress was strongly related to presenteeism, which in turn predicted turnover intention. Presenteeism played a mediating role between occupational stress and turnover intention. Moreover, occupational therapists' perception of organizational support acted as an important mechanism through which presenteeism mediated the relationship between occupational stress and turnover intention.

This paper aims at proposing a new machine-learning based model to improve the calculation of mealtime insulin boluses (MIB) in type 1 diabetes (T1D) therapy using continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) data. Indeed, MIB is still often computed through the standard formula (SF), which does not account for glucose rate-of-change ( ∆G), causing critical hypo/hyperglycemic episodes.
Four candidate models for MIB calculation, based on multiple linear regression (MLR) and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) are developed. The proposed models are assessed in silico, using the UVa/Padova T1D simulator, in different mealtime scenarios and compared to the SF and three ∆G-accounting variants proposed in the literature. An assessment on real data, by retrospectively analyzing 218 glycemic traces, is also performed.
All four tested models performed better than the existing techniques. LASSO regression with extended feature-set including quadratic terms (LASSO
) produced the best results. In silico, LASSO
reduced the error in estimating the optimal bolus to only 0.86U (1.45U of SF and 1.36-1.44U of literature methods), as well as hypoglycemia incidence (from 44.41% of SF and 44.60-45.01% of literature methods, to 35.93%). Results are confirmed by the retrospective application to real data.

To evaluate state-of-the-art signal processing methods for epicardial potential-based noninvasive electrocardiographic imaging reconstructions of single-site pacing data.
Experimental data were obtained from two torso-tank setups in which Langendorff-perfused hearts (n = 4) were suspended and potentials recorded simultaneously from torso and epicardial surfaces. 49 different signal processing methods were applied to torso potentials, grouped as i) high-frequency noise removal (HFR) methods ii) baseline drift removal (BDR) methods and iii) combined HFR+BDR. The inverse problem was solved and reconstructed electrograms and activation maps compared to those directly recorded.
HFR showed no difference compared to not filtering in terms of absolute differences in reconstructed electrogram amplitudes nor median correlation in QRS waveforms (p>0.05). However, correlation and mean absolute error of activation times and pacing site localization were improved with all methods except a notch filter. In comparison with traditional methods, the proposed method avoids the grid-wise computation of the second-order derivatives of B1+ , thereby improving the robustness against noise. Besides, for applications where the structural information can be determined in advance, EPs of a region of interest (ROI) can be calculated in a fast and efficient manner. This study reviews the challenges associated with reactive air management approaches employed on contemporary systems, proposes a novel air management approach using proactive methods, and compares the impact of reactive and proactive approaches on injected air volumes under simulated clinical use.
Injected air volumes from three power injection systems were measured under simulated clinical use via custom air trap fixture. Two of the systems employed reactive air management approaches, while a new system implemented the proposed proactive air management approach.
The proactive system injected significantly less air (average of 0.005mL ± 0.006mL with a maximum of 0.017mL) when compared to two systems with reactive approaches (averages of 0.130mL ± 0.082mL and 0.106mL ± 0.094mL with maximums of 0.259mL and 0.311mL, respectively) (p < 0.05). CT images were taken of static and dynamic 0.1mL air bubbles inside of a vascular phantom, both of which were clearly visible. Additionally, the dynamic bubble was shown to introduce image artifacts similar to those observed clinically.

Experimental data were obtained from two torso-tank setups in which Langendorff-perfused hearts (n = 4) were suspended and potentials recorded simultaneously from torso and epicardial surfaces. 49 different signal processing methods were applied to torso potentials, grouped as i) high-frequency noise removal (HFR) methods ii) baseline drift removal (BDR) methods and iii) combined HFR+BDR. Background Organic anion transporter 1 (OAT1) plays a vital role in avoiding the potential toxicity of various anionic drugs through the involvement of kidney elimination. We previously demonstrated that ubiquitin conjugation to OAT1 led to OAT1 internalization from cell surface, followed by degradation. Ubiquitination is a dynamic process, where deubiquitination is catalyzed by a class of ubiquitin-specific peptidases. Methods The role of ubiquitin-specific peptidase 8 (USP8) in hOAT1 function, expression and ubiquitination was assessed by conducting transporter uptake assay, biotinylation assay and ubiquitination assay. Results We demonstrated that USP8 overexpression in hOAT1-expressing cells led to an increased hOAT1 transporter activity and expression, which correlated well with a reduced hOAT1 ubiquitination. Such phenomenon was not observed in inactive USP8 mutant-transfected cells. In addition, the knockdown of endogenous USP8 by USP8-specific siRNA resulted in an increased hOAT1 ubiquitination, which correlated well with a decrease in hOAT1 expression and transport activity. Biotinylation experiments demonstrated that USP8-induced increase in hOAT1 expression and transport activity occurred through a deceleration of the rates of hOAT1 internalization and degradation. In this paper, we aimed to report the qualitative differences in stimulus responses in the regions of the somatosensory cortex and peripheral nerve fibers that were induced by the IF-MF exposure to the rat spinal cord. We also report the modulation of the stimulus responses in the somatosensory cortex under anesthesia or waking states. Using this experimental platform, we succeeded in the detection of the motor evoked potentials or the neuronal activity in the somatosensory cortex that was induced by the IF-MF exposure to the spinal cord in rats. Compared to the state of anesthesia, the neuronal activities in the somatosensory cortex was enhanced during the waking state. On the other hand, these neuronal responses could not be confirmed by the IF-MF exposure-related coil sound only. As the main goal of the present study, swLORETA was used to determine the neural generators characterising CNV differences between low and high levels of proactive inhibition. Results showed that the higher level of proactive inhibition involved numerous generators, including within the middle and medial frontal gyrus. Importantly, we observed that the lower level of proactive inhibition also involved a specific neural generator, within the frontopolar cortex. In the present study, using human microglial cell line (CHME-5), we aimed to investigate the effect of immunoglobulins (IG) on survival, activation, reactive oxygen species (ROS) and cytokine production of microglia exposed to ketone bodies. We demonstrated that high and low dose of ketone bodies induced a significant increase in ROS within 1 h after exposure to CHME-5 cells with upregulation in mitochondrial superoxide level 5 min after exposure suggestive of early and selective impairment of mitochondrial function. A significant and delayed increase of apoptosis of CHME-5 cells was observed 4 days after ketone bodies exposure. Cytokine expression reached a peak within 1 h and persisted for 3 days after exposure to ketone bodies. IG significantly reduced ROS and transiently suppressed cytokine expression of CHME-5 cells after exposure to ketone bodies.

This prospective cohort study included 630 community dwelling, independent older adults 75 years old or older who attended a health checkup in 2017 with a 1-year followup. The associations of overactive bladder dry and overactive bladder wet with a fall history, and future fall risk compared to no overactive bladder were assessed using logistic regression models. The contribution of overactive bladder as a predictor of falls was examined using a random forest and decision tree approach.
Of the 577 analyzed participants (median age 79 years), 273 (47%) were men. The prevalence of overactive bladder dry and edictor of falls in older adults with a low absolute fall risk.

The effect of insurance coverage on bladder management, symptoms and quality of life is not known. We hypothesized that private insurance is associated with fewer bladder symptoms and better quality of life.
This is a cross-sectional, retrospective analysis of 1,226 surveys collected as part of the prospective Neurogenic Bladder Research Group SCI Registry. We included patients with complete insurance information, which was classified as private or public insurance. The relationship between insurance and bladder management, bladder symptoms and quality of life was modeled using multinomial logistic regression analysis. Spinal cord injury quality of life was measured by the Neurogenic Bladder Symptom Score.
We identified 654 privately insured and 572 publicly insured individuals. The demograolling for bladder management, did not impact bladder symptoms or quality of life.

We review recent guidelines across the specialties involved in diagnosing and treating adrenal incidentalomas, and discuss points of agreement as well as controversy among guidelines.

Furthermore, compared with their M1-polarized counterparts, M2-polarized macrophages derived from PMA-differentiated THP-1 cells conferred to CLL cells greater protection from spontaneous and fludarabine-induced apoptosis. Competitions are part and parcel of daily life and require people to invest time and energy to gain advantage over others and to avoid (the risk of ) falling behind. The enthalpy change (ΔH) and entropy change (ΔS) revealed that van der Waals forces and hydrogen bonds stabilized the Sudan III-BSA complex. Results The findings revealed that accurate lexical tone discrimination and identification did not necessarily entail the accurate discrimination of nonlinguistic stimuli that followed the pitch levels and pitch shapes of lexical tones. Although pitch discrimination and tone discrimination abilities were strongly correlated, accuracy in pitch discrimination was lower than that in tone discrimination, and nonspeech pitch discrimination ability did not precede linguistic tone discrimination in the developmental trajectory. Conclusions Contradicting the theoretical models, the findings of this study suggest that general auditory sensitivity and speech perception may not be causally or hierarchically related. The finding that accuracy in pitch discrimination is lower than that in tone discrimination suggests that comparable nonlinguistic auditory perceptual ability may not be necessary for accurate speech perception and language learning. RFF is the instantaneous fundamental frequency (f 0) of the 10 vocalic cycles during devoicing (vocal offset) and 10 vocalic cycles during the revoicing (vocal onset) of the vowels that surround a voiceless consonant. Each cycle's f 0 was normalized to a steady-state portion of the vowel. RFF values for the cycles closest to the voiceless consonant, that is, Offset Cycle 10 and Onset Cycle 1, were examined. Results Average RFF values for Offset Cycle 10 and Onset Cycle 1 did not differ between CwVN and CwTV; however, within-subject variability of Offset Cycle 10 was decreased in CwVN. Across both groups, male children had lower Offset Cycle 10 RFF values as compared to female children. Additionally, Onset Cycle 1 values were decreased in younger children as compared to those of older children. Conclusions Unlike previous work with adults, CwVN did not have significantly different RFF values than CwTV.
