After that, we carried out correlation analysis between copy number variants (CNV) and mRNA of immune genes and investigated the regulatory mechanism of the immune genes, which cannot be explained by CNV based on ATAC-seq data. The experimental results reveal that CDH1 and PVRL2 are potential for immune evasion in all 4 subgroups. The expression variations of CDH1 can be mainly explained by its CNV, while the expression variation of PVRL2 is more likely regulated by transcript factors.

Here, we explore the extent of intra-species variation between four isolates of the ECM fungus Pisolithus microcarpus, in terms of gene regulation, carbon metabolism and growth, and interactions with a host, Eucalyptus grandis. We demonstrate that, while a core response to the host is maintained by all of the isolates tested, they have distinct patterns of gene expression and carbon metabolism, resulting in the differential expression of isolate-specific response pathways in the host plant. Together, these results highlight the importance of using a wider range of individuals within a species to understand the broader ecological roles of ECM fungi and their host interactions.
    For over the last 20years, approximately 70% of working dentists in Finland have been women. However, there is internal division of the profession along gender lines. Female dentists work more often in the public sector and male dentists in the private sector. The aim of this study was to investigate the gender differences in young dentists' early career choices, specialization plans, values and perceptions of professional identity.

    The data were taken from a national e-mail questionnaire study called "Young Dentist," which was sent to 458 dentists who had received their licence to practise dentistry in 2014-2016 from all four universities with dental curricula in Finland. A total of 52% young dentists (n=238) answered the questionnaire.

    The results indicated that whereas female dentists were more likely to perceive themselves as comforters, social workers and health promoters, male dentists tended to perceive themselves as technicians. These professional identities were interrelated with early-stage career choices in which female dentists worked more often in the public than in the private sector when compared to male dentists. There were also clear gender differences in the importance of values and the specialization plans of the young dentists.

    We developed the Parole Experiences Measure (PEM) to quantify the quality of men's life experiences during the first weeks of re-entry from prison. We aimed to answer the question, can the quality of life experiences differentiate men who survive in the community without reconviction from those who do not?

    Using a longitudinal design, we examined whether PEM scores for 178 men with extensive histories of crime and violence predicted three recidivism indices (breach of parole, reconviction and reimprisonment) over a 12-month follow-up period.

    We found that PEM scores predicted all three indices of recidivism. Of the two PEM subscales, external circumstances (finances, support, accommodation) were more predictive of recidivism than subjective wellbeing (mental and physical health).

Eighty-seven male Wistar rats were stratified into four groups and received daily treatment with vehicle or ZP1849 starting one day before (day -1) end-to-end anastomosis was constructed in the left colon on day 0, and on days 0 (resected colon segment), 3, and 5, gene expressions of GLP-2R, Ki67, insulin-like growth factor- (IGF-) 1, type I (COL1A1) and type III (COL3A1) procollagens, cyclooxygenase- (COX-) 1, COX-2, and matrix metalloproteinase- (MMP-) 7 were quantified by RT-qPCR. Breaking strength, myeloperoxidase (MPO), transforming growth factor- (TGF-) 1, and soluble collagen proteins were measured on days 3 and 5. ZP1849 treatment increased Ki67 ( < 0.0001) and IGF-1 ( < 0.05) mRNA levels in noninjured colon day 0, and postoperatively in the anastomotic wounds compared to vehicle-treated rats. The most intensively studied animal species were poultry (broilers, hens, turkeys, ducks, and eggs and embryos in 44% of the RPs) and pigs (also 44%), followed by cattle, and sheep and goats. Scientific investigations in this area were driven by the research focuses in the areas of animal agriculture and industrial air pollution. Some major research teams played important roles in advancing scientific research. However, research in this area is still relatively limited. There is a great need to overcome some technical challenges and reverse the trend of decreasing research activities in North America and Europe.Microbial extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) coating nanoparticles (NPs) surface can form NPs-EPS corona, which significantly affect the adsorption of NPs to toxic substances and alter the ecotoxicological effect of NPs. In this study, ferrihydrite (Fh)- and HA-like FHCs (C/Fe3, respectively) were synthesized by controlling the initial C/Fe ratios (0.5-18) to explore the potential synergistic/antagonistic effects during the adsorption and reduction of Cr(VI). According to the results, antagonistic effects on Cr(VI) adsorption (5%-80%) were observed on Fh- and HA-like FHCs, where the antagonistic intensity increased with increasing HA proportions, respectively caused by the more serious occupation of adsorption sites and the stronger electrostatic repulsion to Cr(VI). Notably, significant synergistic reduction effects (5%-650%) occurred on Fh-like FHCs were found to be achieved by the activation of low-molecular HA (0.1-0.3 kDa) with primary/secondary hydroxylic groups, which might be induced by the inductive effect of Fh on complexed HA molecules according to density-functional theory (DFT) calculation. While slight antagonistic reduction effects (2%-45%) by HA-like FHCs were attributed to the decreasing accessibility of Cr(VI) to reductive phenolic groups, which might be blocked within FHC particles or complexed with Fe(III) ions through cation bridges.Ionic liquids (ILs) can be used as absorbents and catalysts for NOx absorption and conversion due to their low toxicity, low energy consumption and excellent reusability. The capacity and absorption mechanism of NOx absorption by ILs are presented in this paper. Generally, NOx are physically absorbed by conventional ILs such as imidazolium-based ILs. The absorption capacity is as follows NO2>NO>N2O, which is in good agreement with the binding energy between NOx and ILs. Furthermore, low temperature, high pressure and large cation volume are favorable for NOx absorption. The strategies of enhancing NOx capacity through functionalized ILs with metal-containing anions (e.g. [FeCl4]2-), amine groups, sulfonate and carboxylate anions are also concluded. Active N or O sites in functionalized ILs can react with the dimer of NO (N2O2), resulting in high capacity. Moreover, introducing electron-withdrawing substituents such as chlorine and bromine into carboxylate or sulfonate anions reduces desorption residue. Besides NOx absorption, ILs with [NO3]- can activate NO and efficiently catalyze its conversion into HNO3 in the presence of O2 and H2O, and have better performance than ILs with [Cl]-, [Ac]- and [CF3SO3]-, which is attributed to the strong oxidization capability of [NO3]-. In addition, low temperature and high O2 content can further improve NO conversion.
    Knowledge and skill acquisition to perform an accurate respiratory system assessment is a key competency expected in undergraduate nursing students. Learning physical assessment requires the integration of multiple knowledge bases and skills; hence, applying an innovative teaching approach, such as the flipped-classroom (FC) approach, fosters an active and student-centered learning environment for physical assessment class.

    This study evaluated FC's feasibility in delivering respiratory system assessment content in a health assessment course and explored the changes in nursing students' perceptions regarding student-centeredness and active learning environments before and after applying FC.

    The purpose of this study was to assess the usefulness of a pandemic simulation in preparing the future healthcare professionals during large-scale pandemic disasters.

    This was a mixed-methods, cross-sectional study.

    The study was conducted at a 4-year public university in rural Texas.

    The students (n=89) participated in a simulation exercise that mirrored a real influenza pandemic that facilitated interactions among various first responders. Participants completed pre- and post-tests of knowledge survey questions pertaining to areas of situational awareness, communication effectiveness and public health knowledge, and the 27-item Nursing Anxiety and Self-Confidence with Clinical Decision-Making Scale.

As compared with other women, women with pre-pregnancy thyroid diseases were more frequently obese (19.6% vs. 9.8%) and had greater odds of gestational diabetes development (odds ratio [OR] = 1.58 [95% confidence interval [CI] 1.08, 2.30]) or had undergone treatment for infertility (OR = 1.57 [95% CI 1.07, 2.31]). Findings suggest that moderate preterm birth does not adversely affect glomerular structure in early adulthood. The enlarged Bowman's space in the renal corpuscles of the preterm sheep kidneys, however, is of concern and merits further research into its cause and functional consequences.Women with thyroid diseases at the beginning of pregnancy may have suboptimal thyroid hormone levels because of potential difficulties in compensating for the physiological thyroid hormone changes occurring in pregnancy. Our objective was to study the association between preexisting thyroid diseases, pregnancy complications, and neonatal anthropometry. In total, 16,395 women from the ELFE French longitudinal birth cohort were included, and 273 declared pre-pregnancy thyroid diseases. Associations were investigated with multivariable regression models, with adjustment for relevant potential confounders. Body mass index (BMI) was additionally adjusted for in a second stage. As compared with other women, women with pre-pregnancy thyroid diseases were more frequently obese (19.6% vs. 9.8%) and had greater odds of gestational diabetes development (odds ratio [OR] = 1.58 [95% confidence interval [CI] 1.08, 2.30]) or had undergone treatment for infertility (OR = 1.57 [95% CI 1.07, 2.31]). After adjustment for BMI, the association with gestational diabetes was no longer significant (OR = 1.27 [95% CI 0.86, 1.88]). After excluding women with another medical history, those with pre-pregnancy thyroid diseases had increased odds of premature rupture of membranes (OR = 1.51 [95% CI 1.01, 2.25]). Children born from mothers with hypothyroidism before conception due to a disease or as a potential side effect of treatment had a smaller head circumference at birth than other children (β = -0.23 [95% CI -0.44, -0.01] cm). In conclusion, pre-pregnancy thyroid diseases were associated with risk of infertility treatment, gestational diabetes, and premature rupture of membranes. Denaturation of bovine serum albumin (BSA), immunoglobulin G (IgG) and lactoferrin (LF) in skim milk was studied under different temperature (72, 75 or 78°C) and time (0-300 s) combinations. Sodium dodecyl sulphate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) results revealed that denaturation of all 3 proteins occurred at 72°C and progressed with increase in temperature and holding time.   • Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the identified cause of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), continues unabated. This fact, coupled with recurrence of COVID-19 in areas where it had been controlled, highlights the critical need for a safe and effective vaccine to prevent and mitigate this novel virus. The spike protein of SARS-CoV-2 is important in its lifecycle as well as in the development of immunity after human infection. This has prompted the selection of this antigen as a focus in developing COVID-19 vaccines. This article provides (1) a summary of the host immune responses to SARS-CoV-2 infection, (2) the vaccine platforms being used with COVID-19 vaccine candidates undergoing, or about to undergo, Phase III clinical trial testing, and (3) an overview of the key criteria necessary for COVID-19 vaccine efficacy and safety. In addition, the unique concept of vaccine-enhanced disease will be discussed. We also review organizational strategies to help create a culture of immunization in the practice, including evidence-based approaches for increasing vaccine uptake and efficiency. Although these communication approaches and organizational strategies are intended to reassure parents who are vaccine hesitant that all routine, universally recommended vaccines are safe and effective, they likely will take on increased significance as the development, implementation, and evaluation of coronavirus disease 2019 vaccines continue to unfold. In the absence of APE1, histones enhanced the AP lyase activity of hOGG1 by cross-linking with 3'-PUA. However, the formed histone-PUA DPCs hampered the subsequent repair process. In the presence of APE1, both the AP lyase activity of hOGG1 and the formation of histone-PUA DPCs were suppressed. In this case, histones could catalyse removal of the 5'-dRP by transiently cross-linking with the active intermediate. That is, histones promoted the repair by acting as 5'-dRP lyases.

  • In this work, it is the first time to study the effect of replacing of Na2 O by a fixed amount of Li2 O or K2 O in soda-lime-borate glass on its in vivo biocompatibility. The glass composition was based on xM2 O-20x Na2 O20 CaO60 B2 O3 , (wt %), where, M2 OLi2 O and K2 O, and consequently, samples encoded BN100, BK50, and BL50. The degradation test was carried out in 0.25 M K2 HPO4 solution. The in vivo test was performed in the femoral bone defect of Sprague-Dawley adult male rat. Following up bone formation was conducted by the histological analyses and bone formation markers (alkaline phosphatase [ALP] and osteocalcin [OCN]). Furthermore, the glass effect on the liver and kidney functions was addressed in this study using (alanine transaminase [ALT] and aspartate transaminase [AST]) and (urea and creatinine), respectively. The results of the degradation test showed that the glass dissolution rate was increased by incorporating of K2 O, and its ion release was occurred by a diffusion-controlled process. Moreover, in vivo bioactivity test showed that serum activity of ALP, OCN level, and the newly formed bone was higher in BL50-implanted group than that of BN100 andBK50at 3 w and 6 w post-surgery. As well as, implantation of all glass samples in the femoral bone defect did not alter the liver and kidney functions. In conclusion, the synthesized borate glass was well served as a controlled delivery system for Li+ ion release, which enhanced bone formation as shown from the bone formation markers (ALP and OCN).The kidney is the target of the acute toxicity of depleted uranium (DU). However, the mechanism of DU-induced cytotoxicity is not clear. The study was to demonstrate the role of autophagy in DU-induced cytotoxicity and to determine the potential mechanism. We confirmed that after a 4-h exposure to DU, the autophagic vacuoles and the autophagy marker light chain 3-II in the human embryonic kidney 293 cells (HEK293) increased, and cytotoxicity decreased by abrogation of excessive autophagy using autophagy inhibitor. We also found activation of nucleus p53 and inhibiting mTOR pathways in DU-treated HEK293 cells. Meanwhile, ethylmalonic encephalopathy 1 (ETHE1) decreased as the exposure dose of DU increased, with increasing autophagy flux. We suggested that by reducing ETHE1, activation of the p53 pathway, and inhibiting mTOR pathways, DU might induce overactive autophagy, which affected the cytotoxicity. This study will provide a novel therapeutic target for the treatment of DU-induced cytotoxicity.

    We retrospectively performed chart reviews of all patients who tested positive for a heterozygous or homozygous DPYD*2A mutation in samples obtained from patients throughout the province of Quebec, Canada.

    During a period of 17 months, 2,617 patients were tested 25 patients tested positive. All were White. Twenty-four of the 25 patients were heterozygous (0.92%), and one was homozygous (0.038%). Data were available for 20 patients 15 were tested upfront, whereas five were identified after severe toxicities. Of the five patients confirmed after toxicities, all had grade 4 cytopenias, 80% grade ≥3 mucositis, 20% grade 3 rash, and 20% grade 3 diarrhea. Eight patients identifout delaying treatment initiation. This approach was reported previously, but insufficient data concerning its application in real practice are available. This is likely the first reported experience of systematic DPYD genotyping all over Canada and North America as well.

This is likely the first reported experience of systematic DPYD genotyping all over Canada and North America as well.In this study, we synthesized 22 compounds in a series with various substitution on imidazo[2,1-b][1,3,4]thiadiazole. The potential cytotoxic activity of these compounds investigated in leukemia cell lines by Differential Nuclear Staining (DNS). Our results identified two compounds, 2-(4-methoxybenzyl)-6-(2-oxo-2H-chromen-3-yl)imidazo[2,1-b][1,3,4]thiadiazol-5-yl thiocyanate and 6-(4-chlorophenyl)-2-(4-methoxybenzyl)imidazo[2,1-b][1,3,4]thiadiazole-5-carbaldehyde, exhibited the most cytotoxic effect against murine leukemia cells (L1210), human T-lymphocyte cells (CEM) and human cervix carcinoma cells (HeLa) with IC50 values ranging between 0.79 and 1.6 μM. We obtained a robust intraprotocol reference database of normative along-tract microstructural metrics, and their corresponding plots, from healthy fiber tracts. Each diffusion metric of individual patient's fiber tract was then plotted and statistically compared to the normative profile of the corresponding metric from the healthy fiber tracts.

We retrospectively performed chart reviews of all patients who tested positive for a heterozygous or homozygous DPYD*2A mutation in samples obtained from patients throughout the province of Quebec, Canada. During a period of 17 months, 2,617 patients were tested 25 patients tested positive. All were White. Twenty-four of the 25 patients were heterozygous (0.92%), and one was homozygous (0.038%). Data were available for 20 patients 15 were tested upfront, whereas five were identified after severe toxicities. Of the five patients confirmed after toxicities, all had grade 4 cytopenias, 80% grade ≥3 mucositis, 20% grade 3 rash, and 20% grade 3 diarrhea. Eight patients identifout delaying treatment initiation. This approach was reported previously, but insufficient data concerning its application in real practice are available. This is likely the first reported experience of systematic DPYD genotyping all over Canada and North America as well. Fluoropyrimidines are part of chemotherapy combinations for multiple cancers. Deficient dihydropyrimidine dehydrogenase activity can lead to severe life-threatening toxicities. This retrospective analysis demonstrates that upfront genotyping of DPYD before fluoropyrimidine-based treatment is feasible in clinical practice and can prevent severe toxicities and hospitalizations without delaying treatment initiation. This approach was reported previously, but insufficient data concerning its application in real practice are available. This is likely the first reported experience of systematic DPYD genotyping all over Canada and North America as well.In this study, we synthesized 22 compounds in a series with various substitution on imidazo[2,1-b][1,3,4]thiadiazole. The potential cytotoxic activity of these compounds investigated in leukemia cell lines by Differential Nuclear Staining (DNS). Our results identified two compounds, 2-(4-methoxybenzyl)-6-(2-oxo-2H-chromen-3-yl)imidazo[2,1-b][1,3,4]thiadiazol-5-yl thiocyanate and 6-(4-chlorophenyl)-2-(4-methoxybenzyl)imidazo[2,1-b][1,3,4]thiadiazole-5-carbaldehyde, exhibited the most cytotoxic effect against murine leukemia cells (L1210), human T-lymphocyte cells (CEM) and human cervix carcinoma cells (HeLa) with IC50 values ranging between 0.79 and 1.6 μM. The results indicate that 2-(4-methoxybenzyl)-6-(2-oxo-2H-chromen-3-yl)imidazo[2,1-b][1,3,4]thiadiazol-5-yl thiocyanate is inducing phosphatidylserine externalization and caspase-3 activation which are both a hallmark of apoptosis. Docking studies showed that 2-(4-methoxybenzyl)-6-(2-oxo-2H-chromen-3-yl)imidazo[2,1-b][1,3,4]thiadiazol-5-yl thiocyanate binds within the active sites of transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β) type I receptor kinase domain by strong hydrogen binding and hydrophobic interactions.Along-tract statistics analysis enables the extraction of quantitative diffusion metrics along specific white matter fiber tracts. Besides quantitative metrics derived from classical diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), such as fractional anisotropy and diffusivities, new parameters reflecting the relative contribution of different diffusion compartments in the tissue can be estimated through advanced diffusion MRI methods as neurite orientation dispersion and density imaging (NODDI), leading to a more specific microstructural characterization. In this study, we extracted both DTI- and NODDI-derived quantitative microstructural diffusion metrics along the most eloquent fiber tracts in 15 healthy subjects and in 22 patients with brain tumors. We obtained a robust intraprotocol reference database of normative along-tract microstructural metrics, and their corresponding plots, from healthy fiber tracts. Each diffusion metric of individual patient's fiber tract was then plotted and statistically compared to the normative profile of the corresponding metric from the healthy fiber tracts.

  • In this study, we investigated the characteristics of an organic-inorganic hybrid indirect-type X-ray detector with a CH3NH3PbI3 (MAPbI3) perovskite active layer. A layer with a thickness of 192 nm annealed at 100 °C showed higher absorption, higher crystallinity, and lower surface roughness than did perovskite layers made under different conditions. In the indirect X-ray detector, a scintillator coupled with the detector to convert X-ray photons to visible photons, and the converted photons were absorbed by the active layer to generate charge carriers. The detector with the optimized MAPbI3 (192 nm thick and 100 °C annealing condition) active layer was coupled with a CsI(Tl) scintillator which consisted of 400 μm thick CsI and 0.5 mm thick Al, and achieved the highest sensitivity, i.e., 2.84 mA/Gy·cm2. In addition, the highest short-circuit current density (JSC), i.e., 18.78 mA/cm2, and the highest mobility, i.e., 2.83 × 10-4 cm2/V·s, were obtained from the same detector without the CsI(Tl) scintillator.Unconjugated monoclonal antibodies (mAb) have revolutionized the treatment of B-cell malignancies. These targeted drugs can activate innate immune cytotoxicity for therapeutic benefit. mAb activation of the complement cascade results in complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC) and complement receptor-mediated antibody-dependent cellular phagocytosis (cADCP). Clinical and laboratory studies have showed that CDC is therapeutically important. In contrast, the biological role and clinical effects of cADCP are less well understood. This review summarizes the available data on the role of complement activation in the treatment of mature B-cell malignancies and proposes future research directions that could be useful in optimizing the efficacy of this important class of drugs.Transforming growth factor beta 1 (TGF-β1) is associated with epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), lymph metastasis, and poor prognosis in breast cancer. Paradoxically, TGF-β1 is also a potent inhibitor of cell proliferation. TGF-β1-induced EMT involves activation of several pathways including AKT, which also regulates glucose uptake. Recent data show that prolonged TGF-β1 exposure leads to a more stable EMT phenotype in breast cancer cells. However, whether this is linked to changes in glucose metabolism is not clear. Here, we used a model of TGF-β1-induced EMT in mammary epithelial cells to study the regulation of Glut1 and EMT markers during the induction compared to a prolonged phase of EMT by western blot, immunofluorescence and qPCR analysis. We also measured cell proliferation and uptake of the glucose analogue 2-NDBG. We found that EMT induction was associated with decreased Glut1 expression and glucose uptake. These effects were linked to reduced cell proliferation rather than EMT. Knockdown of Glut1 resulted in growth inhibition and less induction of vimentin during TGF-β1-induced EMT. Intriguingly, Glut1 levels, glucose uptake and cell proliferation were restored during prolonged EMT. The results link Glut1 repression to the anti-proliferative response of TGF-β1 and indicate that re-expression of Glut1 during chronic TGF-β1 exposure allows breast cancer cells to develop stable EMT and proliferate, in parallel.The aim of our study was to evaluate the disposition of individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM2) toward changing their nutritional and physical activity habits and associated factors-particularly their perceptions about interacting and communicating with four health professions. Working with a local patients' association, we invited 364 individuals with DM2, all at least 18 years old, to complete a paper-based survey with questions addressing their experiences of interacting and communicating with general practitioners, nurses, dieticians and diabetologists and about their readiness to change targeted habits, their health literacy and their clinical status. Of the 109 questionnaires collected, 100 were eligible for descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. Regarding nutritional habits, the highest percentage of participants were at the maintenance stage (26%), whereas regarding physical activity habits the highest percentage of participants were at the preparation stage (31%). Adjuvanted protein subunit vaccines have been demonstrated as a kind of promising novel vaccine. This study proposed to investigate whether cytokines interliukine-7 (IL-7) and interliukine-15 (IL-15) help TB subunit vaccines induce long-term cell-mediated immune responses, which are required for vaccination against TB. In this study, **** were immunized with the M. tuberculosis protein subunit vaccines combined with adnovirus-mediated cytokines IL-7, IL-15, IL-7-IL-15, and IL-7-Linker-IL-15 at 0, 2, and 4 weeks, respectively. Twenty weeks after the last immunization, the long-term immune responses, especially the central memory-like T cells (TCM like cell)-mediated immune responses, were determined with the methods of cultured IFN-γ-ELISPOT, expanded secondary immune responses, cell proliferation, and protective efficacy against Mycobacterium bovis Bacilli Calmette-Guerin (BCG) challenge, etc. The results showed that the group of vaccine + rAd-IL-7-Linker-IL-15 induced a stronger long-term antigen-specific TCM like cells-mediated immune responses and had higher protective efficacy against BCG challenge than the vaccine + rAd-vector control group, the vaccine + rAd-IL-7 and the vaccine + rAd-IL-15 groups. This study indicated that rAd-IL-7-Linker-IL-15 improved the TB subunit vaccine's efficacy by augmenting TCM like cells and provided long-term protective efficacy against Mycobacteria.Shrub willow (Salix L. spp.) is a promising bioenergy resource crop due to its high growth rates and superb regenerative ability. Sprouting capacity is influenced by many factors, such as parent tree species and size, which are important limiting factors for stump survival or sprout growth. In this study, we aimed to quantify the survival and regeneration performance of sprouts (including sprout height, sprout diameter, sprout number, leaf morphological traits, leaf chlorophyll content, and ground part dry biomass) from the stumps of two Salix species from three diameter classes (10-15, 16-19, and 20-30 mm). An attempt was made to explore why the stump size affects the regeneration of willows by analyzing the carbon and nitrogen proportion of stumps. Stump survival did not differ between the two Salix species. However, the sprout regeneration of S. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/seclidemstat.html triandra was **** better than that of S. suchowensis. An increase in stump diameter caused increases in the number of sprouts produced per stump, the mean height and basal diameter of sprouts per stump, the leaf chlorophyll content, and the biomass of sprouts per stump.
