    The Roadmap 2.0 intervention will consist of a mobile rl from our health information technology services. Owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the study has been briefly put on hold. However, recruitment began in August 2020. We have converted all recruitment, enrollment, and onboarding processes to be conducted remotely through video telehealth. Consent will be obtained electronically through the Roadmap 2.0 app.

    This mobile randomized trial will determine if positive psychology-based activities delivered through mobile health technology can improve caregiver health-related quality of life over a 16-week study period. This study will provide additional data on the effects of wearable wrist sensors on caregiver and patient self-report outcomes.

    Evidence shows that after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, patients may have varied access to physical therapy. In particular, physical therapy input may end many months before patients reach full recovery. Telerehabilitation may provide an opportunity to address this rehabilitation gap and improve access to evidence-based rehabilitation alongside physical therapy at all stages of care.

    This study aims to understand the opinions of patients who have undergone ACL surgery and rehabilitation on the use of telerehabilitation as part of ACL care and define the population and explore their experiences and views on the acceptability of telerehabilitation after ACL reconstruction.

    This study was a cross-sectional, voluntary, web-based survey combining both closed and open questions. Ethical approval was obtained from the Yale School of Medicine Institutional Review Board. Participants were aged 16 years or older at the time of recruitment and had undergone ACL reconstruction within the past 5 yions.

    The past few decades have seen an exponential increase in using mobile phones to support medical care (mobile health [mHealth]) among people living with psychosis worldwide, yet little is known about WeChat use and WeChat-based mHealth among people living with schizophrenia (PLS) in China.

    This study aims to assess WeChat use, endorsement of WeChat-based mHealth programs, and health related to WeChat use among PLS.

    We recruited a random sample of 400 PLS from 12 communities in Changsha City of Hunan Province, China. WeChat use was assessed using the adapted WeChat Use Intensity Questionnaire (WUIQ). We also compared psychiatric symptoms, functioning, disability, recovery, quality of life, and general well-being between WeChat users and nonusers using one-to-one propensity-score matching.

    The WeChat use rate was 40.8% in this sample (163/400); 30.7% (50/163) had more than 50 WeChat friends and nearly half (81/163, 49.7%) spent more than half an hour on WeChat, a pattern similar to college students and al recovery, and to improve both physical and mental well-being among PLS. WeChat and WeChat-based mHealth programs have the potential to offer a new path to recovery and well-being for PLS in China.

As an example, bed-embedded ballistocardiogram (BCG) sensors can help physicians identify cardiac arrhythmia and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) nonintrusively without interfering with the patient's everyday activities. Detecting OSA using BCG sensors is gaining popularity among researchers because of its simple installation and accessibility, that is, their nonwearable nature. In the field of nonintrusive vital sign monitoring, a microbend fiber optic sensor (MFOS), among other sensors, has proven to be suitable. Nevertheless, few studies have examined apnea detection.

  • The present work seeks to illustrate the potential role MRgRT could play in personalizing rectal cancer treatment thus expanding the role of NOM in rectal cancer.
    We hypothesized that a laparoscopic approach to sigmoidectomy for perforated diverticulitis is associated with less morbidity and mortality.

    The NSQIP database was used to investigate adult patients who underwent emergent colectomy with end colostomy for perforated diverticulitis. A multivariate analysis using logistic regression was used to compare outcomes of patients by surgical approach.

    We found a total of 2937 adult patients who underwent emergent colectomy for perforated diverticulitis during 2012-2017. The rate of minimally invasive surgery (MIS) was 11.4% with 38.6% conversion rate to open. The 30-day mortality and morbidity rates were 8.8% and 65.8%, respectively. Following adjustment using a multivariate analysis, the open approach was associated with higher morbidity (67.2% vs 56.8%, AOR 1.70,
    < .01) and mean hospitalization length of patients (13 days vs 10 days,
    < .01) compared to the MIS approach. Respiratory complications of ventilator dependency (14.3% vs 6%, AOR 2.95,

To explore this possibility, variation in facial attractiveness was evaluated relative to refined carbohydrate consumption. Attractiveness was assessed from facial pictures as judged by raters of the opposite sex. Estimates of refined carbohydrate consumption were based on the glycaemic load of three mealtimes at-higher glycaemic risk (breakfast, afternoon snack and between-meal snack). In the presence of several control variables, facial pictures of women and men with higher between-meal glycaemic loads were preferred by opposite-sex raters. Structural equation modeling suggests that this result is possibly mediated by an increase in apparent age for men and an increase in femininity for women. The different physiological ecologies of the three meals at-higher glycaemic risk are discussed as well as the interpretation of the results in terms of adaptation or maladaptation to the modern and unique dietary environment.

    Twenty eyes of 14 glaucomatous patients and 15 eyes of nine normal patients were enrolled. The most appropriate hypotonic treatment was applied to every patient. A HD Angio Disc 4.5 scan (Avanti-AngioVue) was performed at baseline and after a month in the glaucomatous eyes. The following parameters were analyzed Radial Papillary Capillaries (RPC) density, inside disc, peripapillary, superior-hemi, inferior-hemi, quadrants, and peripapillary, hemi-superior, hemi-inferior, and quadrants RNFL thickness. Optic nerve head analysis was also evaluated. In addition, the RPC density and the RNFL were assessed in the eight sectors provided by the software.

    The RPC density did not significantly change after IOP reduction (
     > 0.05). The inferior-temporal (
     = 0.005) and inferior-nasal sectors (
     < 0.001) showed a greater capillary density than the respective superior sectors in healthy eyes. Here we combine transcranial magnetic stimulation with electroencephalography (TMS-EEG) to evaluate the effects of MST on connectivity and activation between the DLPFC, the SGC and hippocampus (Hipp) in patients with TRD. The TMS-EEG was collected from 31 TRD patients prior to and after an MST treatment trial. Through TMS-EEG methodology we evaluated significant current scattering (SCS) as an index of effective connectivity between the SGC and left DLPFC. Significant current density (SCD) was used to assess activity at the level of the Hipp. The SCS between the SGC and DLPFC was reduced after the course of MST (p  less then  0.036). The DLPFC-SGC effective connectivity reduction correlated with the changes in Hamilton depression score pre-to-post treatment (R = 0.46; p  less then  0.031). The SCD localized to the Hipp was reduced after the course of MST (p  less then  0.015), and the SCD change was correlated with montreal cognitive assessment (****) scores pre-post the course of MST (R = -0.59; p  less then  0.026). Our findings suggest that MST treatment is associated with SGC-DLPFC connectivity reduction and that changes to cognition are associated with Hipp activation reduction. Hispanics comprised 4% and presented with disproportionately more BU stage IIIb cardiac involvement (27% vs. 4-17%). At onset, minority groups were younger in age by 4-6 years. There was indication of more aggressive disease phenotype among NHBs with higher prevalence of difference between involved and uninvolved free light chains >180 mg/L (39% vs. 22-33%, P = 0.044). Receipt of stem cell transplantation was 30% lower in Hispanics compared to non-Hispanic White (NHWs) on account of sociodemographic and physiologic factors. Although the age/sex-adjusted hazard for death among NHBs was 24% higher relative to NHWs (P = 0.020), race/ethnicity itself did not impact survival after controlling for disease severity and treatment variables. These findings highlight the complexities of racial/ethnic disparities in AL amyloidosis. Here we combine transcranial magnetic stimulation with electroencephalography (TMS-EEG) to evaluate the effects of MST on connectivity and activation between the DLPFC, the SGC and hippocampus (Hipp) in patients with TRD. The TMS-EEG was collected from 31 TRD patients prior to and after an MST treatment trial. Through TMS-EEG methodology we evaluated significant current scattering (SCS) as an index of effective connectivity between the SGC and left DLPFC. Significant current density (SCD) was used to assess activity at the level of the Hipp. The SCS between the SGC and DLPFC was reduced after the course of MST (p  less then  0.036). The DLPFC-SGC effective connectivity reduction correlated with the changes in Hamilton depression score pre-to-post treatment (R = 0.46; p  less then  0.031). The SCD localized to the Hipp was reduced after the course of MST (p  less then  0.015), and the SCD change was correlated with montreal cognitive assessment (MOCA) scores pre-post the course of MST (R = -0.59; p  less then  0.026). Our findings suggest that MST treatment is associated with SGC-DLPFC connectivity reduction and that changes to cognition are associated with Hipp activation reduction. RT-qPCR was performed to detect the expression levels of circMTO1 and miR-199a-3p in the cell lines and tissues of gastric cancer. The effect of circMTO1 and miR-199a-3p on the growth and apoptosis of tumor cells was detected by BrdU incorporation and Annexin V/PI staining. Target gene prediction and screening, and luciferase reporter assays were performed to validate downstream interested genes of circMTO1 and miR-199a-3p. The expression levels of miR-199a-3p target gene PAWR (named as PRKC apoptosis WT1 Regulator Protein) was measured by RT-qPCR and Western blotting.     Over 50% of adults in Latin America and the Caribbean have a body mass index (BMI) ≥ 25 suggesting excess energy intakes relative to energy expenditure. Accurate estimation of resting metabolic rate (RMR), the largest component of total energy requirements, is crucial to strategies aimed at reducing the prevalence and incidence of overweight and obesity.

    We evaluated the accuracies of established and locally developed RMR prediction equations (RMR
    ) among adults.

    Four hundred adult volunteers ages 20 to 65 years had RMR measured (RMR
    ) with a MedGem® indirect calorimeter according to recommended procedures. RMR

    Many BRCA1/2 carriers experience an increase in distress after diagnosis; however, there is a need to review the longer term psychological implications of genetic confirmation and the factors associated with persistent distress.

    This article systematically reviewed the literature in line with PRISMA guidelines on distress a minimum of six months after BRCA1/2 confirmation focusing on prevalence rates and factors associated with distress.

    Fifteen studies were identified for inclusion and a narrative synthesis was conducted. Distress was associated with a range of demographic, clinical and psychological factors. A consistent finding was that although most carriers experience a reduction in distress 6-12 months after BRCA1/2 confirmation, those who experience persistent distress are more likely to have had higher distress levels at time of genetic testing. Risk reducing surgery may also play a role in reducing distress.

    The review highlights the importance of psychological assessment and the use of specific distress measures. Given the considerable challenges in synthesizing the data there is a need for further prospective studies of high methodological quality.

    To assess whether a faecal immunochemical test (FIT) could be used to select patients with suspected colorectal cancer (CRC) symptoms for urgent investigation.

    Multicentre, double-blinded diagnostic accuracy study in 50 National Health Service (NHS) hospitals across England between October 2017 and December 2019. Patients referred to secondary care with suspected CRC symptoms meeting NHS England criteria for urgent 2 weeks wait referral and triaged to investigation with colonoscopy were invited to perform a quantitative FIT. The sensitivity of FIT for CRC, and effect of relevant variables on its diagnostic accuracy was assessed.

    9822 patients were included in the final analysis. The prevalence of CRC at colonoscopy was 3.3%. The FIT positivity decreased from 37.2% to 19.0% and 7.6%, respectively, at cut-offs of 2, 10 and 150 µg haemoglobin/g faeces (µg/g). The positive predictive values of FIT for CRC at these cut-offs were 8.7% (95% CI, 7.8% to 9.7%), 16.1% (95% CI 14.4% to 17.8%) and 31.1% (95% CI 27.8% to 34.6%), respectively, and the negative predictive values were 99.8% (95% CI 99.7% to 99.9%), 99.6% (95% CI 99.5% to 99.7%) and 98.9% (95% CI 98.7% to 99.1%), respectively.     Soluble solids concentration (SSC), dry matter concentration (DMC) and flesh firmness (FF) are important fruit quality parameters in stone fruits. This study investigated the ability of a commercial visible/near-infrared (NIR) spectrometer to determine SSC, DMC and FF in nectarine, peach, apricot and Japanese plum cultivars at harvest. The work was conducted in summer 2019/2020 on 14 stone fruit cultivars at Tatura, Australia. Two sub-samples of 100 fruit each were collected before and after commercial maturity (± 5 days) in order to maximize sample variability.

    Partial least square (PLS) regression models based on the second derivative of the absorbance in the 729-975 nm spectral region proved accurate for the prediction of SSC and DMC (R

     > 0.750). Only the model generated for SSC in 'Golden May' apricot was less precise compared to other cultivars. No visible/NIR models were accurate enough to predict FF in the cultivars under study (R

The Neosebastes species, found in the western Pacific and south-east Indian Ocean, have received little attention from a research perspective. Samples of the bighead gurnard perch, Neosebastes pandus, collected from the lower west and south coasts of Western Australia, were used to undertake the first comprehensive investigation of the biological characteristics of a Neosebastes species. Opaque zones in sectioned sagittal otoliths were validated as forming annually. Female N. pandus grow to a significantly larger size, on average, than males and dominate the largest size classes, while males, growing to a smaller size, accumulate in the intermediate size classes. Although males were far less numerous than females in those age classes in which both sexes were found, males and females attain similar maximum ages >25 years.     Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) is a very aggressive cancer showing the presence of high cancer stem cells (CSCs). Doublecortin-like kinase1 (DCLK1) has been demonstrated as a CSC marker in different gastroenterological solid tumors. Our aim was to evaluate in vitro the expression and the biological function of DCLK1 in intrahepatic CCA (iCCA) and perihilar CCA (pCCA).

    Specimens surgically resected of human CCA were enzymatically digested, submitted to immunosorting for specific CSC markers (LGR5 [leucine-rich repeat-containing G protein-coupled receptor], CD [clusters of differentiation] 90, EpCAM [epithelial cell adhesion molecule], CD133, and CD13), and primary cell cultures were prepared. DCLK1 expression was analyzed in CCA cell cultures by real-time quantitative PCR, western blot, and immunofluorescence. Soluble solids concentration (SSC), dry matter concentration (DMC) and flesh firmness (FF) are important fruit quality parameters in stone fruits. This study investigated the ability of a commercial visible/near-infrared (NIR) spectrometer to determine SSC, DMC and FF in nectarine, peach, apricot and Japanese plum cultivars at harvest. The work was conducted in summer 2019/2020 on 14 stone fruit cultivars at Tatura, Australia. Two sub-samples of 100 fruit each were collected before and after commercial maturity (± 5 days) in order to maximize sample variability. Partial least square (PLS) regression models based on the second derivative of the absorbance in the 729-975 nm spectral region proved accurate for the prediction of SSC and DMC (R  > 0.750). Only the model generated for SSC in 'Golden May' apricot was less precise compared to other cultivars. No visible/NIR models were accurate enough to predict FF in the cultivars under study (R  < 0.750). This study demonstrated that the visible/NIR spectrometer was a reliable tool to monitor SSC and DMC in stone fruits at harvest but proved less useful for FF estimation. The Neosebastes species, found in the western Pacific and south-east Indian Ocean, have received little attention from a research perspective. Samples of the bighead gurnard perch, Neosebastes pandus, collected from the lower west and south coasts of Western Australia, were used to undertake the first comprehensive investigation of the biological characteristics of a Neosebastes species. Opaque zones in sectioned sagittal otoliths were validated as forming annually. Female N. pandus grow to a significantly larger size, on average, than males and dominate the largest size classes, while males, growing to a smaller size, accumulate in the intermediate size classes. Although males were far less numerous than females in those age classes in which both sexes were found, males and females attain similar maximum ages >25 years. HRMS-based workflows used for the investigation of critical olive oil authenticity issues are presented and discussed, combined with advanced data processing, comprehensive data mining and chemometric tools. The use of unsupervised classification tools, such as Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Hierarchical Clustering Analysis (HCA), as well as supervised classification techniques, including Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA), Support Vector Machine (SVM), Partial Least Square Discriminant Analysis (PLS-DA), Orthogonal Projection to Latent Structure-Discriminant Analysis (OPLS-DA), Counter Propagation Artificial Neural Networks (CP-ANNs), Self-Organizing Maps (SOMs) and Random Forest (RF) is summarized. The combination of HRMS methodologies with chemometrics improves the quality and reliability of the conclusions from experimental data (profile or fingerprints), provides valuable information suggesting potential authenticity markers and is widely applied in food authenticity studies.With the rapid development of isothermal amplification technology, DNA molecular diagnosis has become an important reference for clinical treatment. In this work, we have designed a DNA molecular diagnostic technology with LAMP-like sensitivity for nucleic acid analysis and detection based on only one pair of hairpin primers. This DNA molecular diagnostic technology consists of Bst DNA polymerase and one pair of hairpin primers, which are designed easily by adding a stem-loop structure to a target binding domain. When the target is present, the polymerization reaction between the hairpin primers and the target generates a specific dumbbell DNA similar to LAMP, which triggers cyclic amplification reactions to extend a series of long dsDNA products with repeated sequences by inserting fluorescent dye Eva Green observed the increase in fluorescence signal. In our method, using the hairpin primers-mediated isothermal polymerization amplification, we can specifically monitor 3-5 copies of the target nucleic acid in the system without labeling and temperature cycling in the reaction. This miniature probe was validated by measuring pH across a whole ovine lung and allowed discrimination of tumorous and normal tissue, thus offering the potential for the rapid and accurate observation of tissue pH changes.

Biological parameters of A. pisum were analyzed using an age stage, two-sex life table. The results of this study showed that unsuccessful host stinging was prevalent under laboratory conditions, and the frequency of this type of attack on third- and fourth-instar hosts was higher than the frequencies of parasitism and host feeding. Unsuccessful host stinging adversely impacted aphid populations, by decreasing aphid survival and reproduction, and impacts were greatest in hosts attacked at the first and fourth instars. These results indicate that unsuccessful host stinging enhances the biological control impact of A. asychis attacking A. pisum, and its effect on host populations should also be considered when selecting and mass rearing of parasitoids for biological control. © The Author(s) 2020. The exact mechanism of contracture after skin grafting remains unclear, and reliable treatment measures are lacking; therefore, new treatment methods must be identified. Many types of centripetal contraction forces affect skin graft operation, thus leading to centripetal contracture. Therefore, antagonizing the centripetal contraction of skin grafts may be a feasible method to intervene in skin contracture. Here, we propose the first reported mechanical stretching method to address contracture after skin grafting. A full-thickness skin graft model was established on the backs of SD rats. The skin in the experimental group was stretched unilaterally or bi-directionally with a self-made elastic stretching device, whereas the skin was non-stretched in the control group. The rats were sacrificed 2 weeks after stretching. The area, length and width of the skin were measured. The grafts were cut and fixed with formalin. Routine paraffin sections were stained with hematoxylin-eosin (HE), picric acid-Sirius red, Victoria blue and anti-alpha-smooth muscle actin (SMA). Mechanical stretching made the graft lengthen in the direction of the stress and had an important influence on collagen deposition and alpha-SMA expression in the graft. Functional lateral shift of the mandible (FLSM) can lead to malocclusion. This study investigated the effects of FLSM on HA metabolism and lubrication of the TMJ in growing rats. METHODS Thirty 5-week-old male Wistar rats were divided into shift, recovery, and control groups. Rats in the shift and recovery groups were fitted with guiding plates to produce a 2-mm FLSM which were removed from the rats in the recovery group 14 days later. Animals were sacrificed at 14 and 28 days after the appliances were attached. Immunohistochemistry of HA-binding protein (HABP), hyaluronan synthase (HAS), and hyaluronoglucosaminidases (HYALs) was examined. RESULTS The thickness of HABP-positively stained areas in the lateral regions in the bilateral condyle was reduced during the experimental period in the shift group compared with that in the control group. The proportion of HAS2-stained areas was bilaterally decreased in different regions of condylar cartilage during the experimental period in the shift group. The reduction of the HYAL2-stained area proportion in the condylar cartilage was more significant than that of HYAL1 at 14 days after appliance attachment in the shift group. HAS2 staining was not recovered in the recovery group. LIMITATIONS This research was based on animal experiments with a limited experimental period. CONCLUSION FLSM altered lubrication related HA metabolism in the articular cartilage of the TMJ in growing rats. © The Author(s) 2020. For permissions, please email journals.permissions@oup.com.In view of recent cases of human and canine visceral leishmaniasis reported in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, we investigated the sand fly fauna inhabiting the neighborhoods of Morro Santana and Jardim Carvalho, Brazil, continuing a series of entomological surveys aimed to identify potential vectors of Leishmania (Ross, 1903) parasites. Sand flies were collected monthly from October 2016 to October 2017 using CDC light traps in the intradomiciliary and peridomiciliary environments of seven residences. Sand fly abundance was correlated to climatic variables. Females were pooled by species, location, and date for Leishmania DNA molecular screening using ITS1 and kDNA polymerase chain reaction. In total, 501 sand flies from five species were collected in which Lutzomyia gaminarai (Cordero, Vogelsang & Cossio, 1928) (Diptera Psychodidae) (78%) was the most abundant species in the intradomiciliary sites while Migonemyia migonei (Franca, 1920) (Diptera Psychodidae) (43.3%) was the most abundant in the peridomiciliary sites.

Immunohistochemistry of HA-binding protein (HABP), hyaluronan synthase (HAS), and hyaluronoglucosaminidases (HYALs) was examined. RESULTS The thickness of HABP-positively stained areas in the lateral regions in the bilateral condyle was reduced during the experimental period in the shift group compared with that in the control group. The proportion of HAS2-stained areas was bilaterally decreased in different regions of condylar cartilage during the experimental period in the shift group. The reduction of the HYAL2-stained area proportion in the condylar cartilage was more significant than that of HYAL1 at 14 days after appliance attachment in the shift group. HAS2 staining was not recovered in the recovery group. LIMITATIONS This research was based on animal experiments with a limited experimental period. CONCLUSION FLSM altered lubrication related HA metabolism in the articular cartilage of the TMJ in growing rats. © The Author(s) 2020. For permissions, please email journals.permissions@oup.com.In view of recent cases of human and canine visceral leishmaniasis reported in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, we investigated the sand fly fauna inhabiting the neighborhoods of Morro Santana and Jardim Carvalho, Brazil, continuing a series of entomological surveys aimed to identify potential vectors of Leishmania (Ross, 1903) parasites. Sand flies were collected monthly from October 2016 to October 2017 using CDC light traps in the intradomiciliary and peridomiciliary environments of seven residences. Sand fly abundance was correlated to climatic variables. Females were pooled by species, location, and date for Leishmania DNA molecular screening using ITS1 and kDNA polymerase chain reaction. In total, 501 sand flies from five species were collected in which Lutzomyia gaminarai (Cordero, Vogelsang & Cossio, 1928) (Diptera Psychodidae) (78%) was the most abundant species in the intradomiciliary sites while Migonemyia migonei (Franca, 1920) (Diptera Psychodidae) (43.3%) was the most abundant in the peridomiciliary sites.
