Roselle is a mixture of four closely related compounds delphinidin 3-sambubioside and cyanidin 3-sambubioside, delphinidin 3-glucoside and cyanidin 3-glucoside. Each of these in turn can exist in 8 different configurations in a complex state of equilibrium largely dependent upon pH. Of these compounds, only three are colored. In plants, and in their complex extracts, formation of these colorless compounds is inhibited by the presence of other colorless aromatic molecules, a stabilizing process termed co-pigmentation. The color of such extracts may be red in the acid range and blue or violet above neutrality. Stay at home orders and social distancing guidelines were in place, which has had a direct effect on American lives forcing the cancellation of events, ending in-person school or childcare, forcing remote work environments, and leading to drastic changes to recreational activities. All these life changes can be experienced as losses that lead to real grief. However, grieving in the time of COVID-19 is fraught with unique challenges. This study recruited 257 participants from across North America to participate in an online survey investigating the types of losses experienced due to COVID-19, feelings of guilt and delegitimization, communal coping, and general coping behaviors. Results indicate that people experienced various losses during the COVID-19 pandemic, many of which were compounded and varying in degrees of intensity (e.g., loss of a loved one, loss of a job, loss of physical activity routine). Because of these differences in intensity, people felt guilty for grieving over their losses, and subsequently were less likely to appraise the losses as communal and more likely to utilize avoidant coping mechanisms on their own. The theoretical and public health implications of the study are discussed.
Current evidence regarding renal involvement in pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma (PPGL) is scant. More accurate diagnostic methods, such as renal Doppler ultrasound for intrarenal hemodynamic studies, may provide more detailed information on renal function. It might be postulated that renal function in PPGL patients might be altered by high blood pressure and excess secretion of catecholamines. The aim of this prospective study was to assess intrarenal blood flow parameters in PPGL patients included in the prospective monoamine-producing tumour (PMT) study and to evaluate the effects of normalisation of catecholamine production after surgical treatment on long-term renal function.
Seventy consecutive patients (aged 46.5 ± 14.0 years) with PPGL were included. Forty-eight patients from the PMT study cohort, matched for age, gender, blood pressure level and presence of hypertension, served as a control group. Renal artery doppler ultrasound spectral analysis included mean resistance index (RRI) and pulsatility index (PI).

Flexible organic photovoltaics (OPVs) are promising power sources for wearable electronics. However, it is challenging to simultaneously achieve high efficiency as well as good stability under various stresses. Herein, we demonstrate the fabrication of highly efficient (efficiency, 13.2%) and stable OPVs based on nonfullerene blends by a single-step postannealing treatment. The device performance decreases dramatically after annealing at 90 °C and is fully recovered after annealing at 150 °C. Glass-encapsulated annealed OPVs show good environmental stability with 4.8% loss in efficiency after 4,736 h and an estimated T 80 lifetime (80% of the initial power conversion efficiency) of over 20,750 h in the dark under ambient condition and T 80 lifetime of 1,050 h at 85 °C and 30% relative humidity. This environmental stability is enabled by the synergetic effect of the stable morphology of donor/acceptor blends and thermally stabilized interfaces due to doping. Furthermore, the high efficiency and good stability are almost 100% retained in ultraflexible OPVs and minimodules which are mechanically robust and have long-term operation capability and thus are promising for future self-powered and wearable electronics.Inefficient physiological transitions are known to cause metabolic disorders. Therefore, investigating mechanisms that constitute molecular switches in a central metabolic organ like the liver becomes crucial. Specifically, upstream mechanisms that control temporal engagement of transcription factors, which are essential to mediate physiological fed-fast-refed transitions are less understood. SIRT1, a NAD+-dependent deacetylase, is pivotal in regulating hepatic gene expression and has emerged as a key therapeutic target. Despite this, if/how nutrient inputs regulate SIRT1 interactions, stability, and therefore downstream functions are still unknown. Here, we establish nutrient-dependent O-GlcNAcylation of SIRT1, within its N-terminal domain, as a crucial determinant of hepatic functions. Our findings demonstrate that during a fasted-to-refed transition, glycosylation of SIRT1 modulates its interactions with various transcription factors and a nodal cytosolic kinase involved in insulin signaling. Moreover, sustained glycosylation in the fed state causes nuclear exclusion and cytosolic ubiquitin-mediated degradation of SIRT1. This mechanism exerts spatiotemporal control over SIRT1 functions by constituting a previously unknown molecular relay. Of note, loss of SIRT1 glycosylation discomposed these interactions resulting in aberrant gene expression, mitochondrial dysfunctions, and enhanced hepatic gluconeogenesis. Expression of nonglycosylatable SIRT1 in the liver abrogated metabolic flexibility, resulting in systemic insulin resistance, hyperglycemia, and hepatic inflammation, highlighting the physiological costs associated with its overactivation. Conversely, our study also reveals that hyperglycosylation of SIRT1 is associated with aging and high-fat-induced obesity. METHODS This was a retrospective, cross-sectional study of general internal medicine patients discharged between 1 April 2010 and 31 March 2015 who received a PICC during hospitalisation. The primary outcomes were the proportions of appropriate and inappropriate inpatient PICC use based on MAGIC recommendations. Hospital administrative data and electronic clinical data were used to determine appropriateness of each PICC placement. Multivariable regression models were fit to explore patient predictors of inappropriate use. For the first time, we used electronic HH monitoring to characterise the duration of the HE on HH events after human auditors have left the ward. METHODS Observations were prospectively conducted on two transplant wards at a tertiary centre between May 2018 and January 2019. HH events were measured using the electronic GOJO Smartlink Activity Monitoring System located throughout the ward. Non-covert human auditing was conducted in 1-hour intervals at random locations on both wards on varying days of the week. Two adjusted negative binomial regression models were fit in order to estimate an overall auditor effect and a graded auditor effect. RESULTS In total, 365 674 HH dispensing events were observed out of a possible 911 791 opportunities. In the adjusted model, the presence of an auditor increased electronic HH events by approximately 2.5-fold in the room closest to where the auditor was standing (9.86 events per hour/3.98 events per hour; p less then 0.01), an effect sustained across only the partial hour before and after the auditor was present but not beyond the first hour after the auditor left. This effect persisted but was attenuated in areas distal from the auditor (total ward events of 6.91*6.32-7.55, p less then 0.01). Additionally, there was significant variability in the magnitude of the HE based on temporal and geographic distribution of audits. CONCLUSION The HE on HH events appears to last for a limited time on inpatient wards and is highly dynamic across time and auditor location. Clinical remission is defined as the absence of significant signs and symptoms of inflammatory disease activity, as well as the abrogation of any signs of systemic inflammation. Currently, there are some controversies about remission. Which is the real remission? Which remission criteria should be used and when? Does clinical remission mean ultrasound remission? In the present review, we try to answer and put some light into it, focusing on clinical and ultrasound deep remission.COVID-19 a systemic inflammation involving multiple organs, affecting all age groups, with high mortality rate, severe adverse outcomes, and high economic burden need to be described. Certainty of evidences was evaluated by GRADE approach. Meta-analysis according to random effects model was conducted. Seventy-one eligible systematic reviews are included in the study. A total of 86.5% of them had high quality, and 13.5% had medium quality. Meta-analysis results are presented in tabular format, and the remaining results are presented in narration fashion. The aim of this study was to determine the spontaneous pregnancy rate and safety of our surgical technique of performing laparoscopy cystectomy for endometrioma.
This is a 5-year retrospective study, carried out at Mahkota Medical Centre, Melaka, Malaysia. 143 patients with endometrioma associated with moderate to severe endometriosis underwent laparoscopic cystectomy from 2015 to 2019. The surgery commenced with dissection and excision of all the endometriotic lesions followed by injection of diluted vasopressin into the space between the cyst wall and the normal ovarian cortex. Stripping of the cyst wall was performed until the ovarian hilum was reached. The cyst wall was then excised, leaving some of the cyst wall on the hilum area. Minimal bipolar electrocoagulation was done on this remaining cyst wall. The ovary was then reconstructed with suturing. During the surgery, the severity of the disease was staged, endometrioma diameter and intraoperative findings were recorded. Fertility outcomes were deted in a spontaneous pregnancy rate of 42.1% in patients with moderate and severe endometriosis.
COVID-19 is a highly transmissible respiratory virus that has affected millions of people worldwide in the span of months. The burden of disease among healthcare workers (HCW) has not been well studied despite reports of infectivity and transmission around the world. Two HCW in Hospital Teluk Intan (HTI) contracted COVID-19 while attending a social event. They were in close proximity with colleagues upon returning to work, resulting in the spread of infection among other HCW in HTI.
The objectives of this paper are to gain a better understanding of the key presenting symptoms of COVID-19 in HCWs in a district specialist hospital, to establish the proportion of symptomatic COVID-19 cases among HCWs and its severity and to determine the time taken from onset of symptoms or perceived exposure to diagnostic testing.

Spontaneous subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH) is a significant cause of stroke and associated with high morbidity and mortality. One substantial complication of SAH is cerebral vasospasm (CV) and delayed cerebral ischemia (DCI). This study aimed to define the clinical profile in patients with SAH, CV and DCI secondary to spontaneous SAH (aneurysmal and pretruncal non-aneurysmal).
We analysed 122 consecutive patients with spontaneous SAH following intracranial aneurysmal and non-aneurysmal information (including patients' pattern characterisation and their possible risk factor association to pre-operative clinical decision and long-term clinical outcome) was documented and analysed.
The main clinical presentations for spontaneous SAH following ruptured intracranial aneurysm and nonaneurysm were headache (77%) and nausea/vomiting (62.3%). The most common sites for SAH following ruptured intracranial aneurysm rupture were the anterior and posterior communicating arteries (57.5%). Hypertension was the most comd non-aneurysmal rupture and it is associated with substantial morbidity. Prevention, effective monitoring, and early detection are keys to successful management. Regional investigation using a multicentre cohort to analyse mortality and survival rates may aid in improving national resource management of these patients.
Thrombolytic therapy with intravenous alteplase is a well-established treatment for acute ischaemic stroke (AIS). However, in Malaysia, treatment prescription is often limited by the availability of neurologists. The objective was to compare the outcomes of acute stroke thrombolysis therapy prescribed by neurologists in the Seberang Jaya Hospital (SJH) and non-neurologists in the Taiping Hospital (TH).
In this cross-sectional study, all AIS patients who received thrombolytic therapy in SJH and TH between January 2012 and September 2019 were included. Clinical data was extracted from admission records. The outcomes assessed were the percentage of patients who achieved excellent functional outcome at 3 months (modified Rankin scale of 0 to 1), rates of symptomatic intracranial haemorrhage (SICH), and mortality.
A total of 63 AIS patients who received thrombolytic therapy were included, of which 37 patients (58.7%) were treated in SJH. The median NIHSS on admission was 12 in SJH and 11.5 in TH. In all 21.6% of patients from SJH and 30.7% of patients from TH achieved favourable functional outcome at 3 months (p=0.412). There were no significant differences between the two centres in terms of the rates of SICH (10.8% in SJH and 3.8% in TH, p=0.314) and 3-month mortality (24.3% versus 12.5%, p=0.203).
The 3-month functional outcomes and complication rates of stroke thrombolysis in hospitals with or without neurologists are not significantly different. Thus non-neurologist hospitals may be able to provide thrombolysis service to AIS patients safely and effectively.

Investigation of the functional remodeling is expected to provide scientific relevance of tumor characterization and disease management of glioma. In this study, we aimed to investigate the functional remodeling of the contralesional hemisphere and its utility in predicting the malignant grade of glioma at the individual level with multivariate logistic regression (MLR) analysis.
One hundred and twenty-six right-handed subjects with histologically confirmed cerebral glioma were included with 80 tumors located in the left hemisphere (LH) and 46 tumors located in the right hemisphere (RH). Resting-state functional networks of the contralesional hemisphere were constructed using the human brainnetome atlas based on resting-state fMRI data. Functional connectivity and topological features of functional networks were quantified. The performance of functional features in predicting the glioma grade was evaluated using area under (AUC) the receite glioma characterization and management at the individual level.
Functional remodeling of the contralesional hemisphere was hemisphere-specific and highly predictive of the malignant grade of glioma. Patients with CMS suffer from severe hypoxemia, excessive erythrocytosis and neurologic deficits. The cellular mechanisms underlying CMS neuropathology remain unknown. We previously showed that iPSC-derived CMS neurons have altered mitochondrial dynamics and increased susceptibility to hypoxia-induced cell death. Genome analysis from the same population identified many ER stress-related genes that play an important role in hypoxia adaptation or lack thereof. In the current study, we showed that iPSC-derived CMS neurons have increased expression of ER stress markers Grp78 and XBP1s under normoxia and hyperphosphorylation of PERK under hypoxia, alleviating ER stress does not rescue the hypoxia-induced CMS neuronal cell death. Akt is a cytosolic regulator of ER stress with PERK as a direct target of Akt. CMS neurons exhibited lack of Akt activation and lack of increased Parkin expression as compared to non-CMS neurons under hypoxia. By enhancing Akt activation and Parkin overexpression, hypoxia-induced CMS neuronal cell death was reduced. Taken together, we propose that increased Akt activation protects non-CMS from hypoxia-induced cell death. In contrast, impaired adaptive mechanisms including failure to activate Akt and increase Parkin expression render CMS neurons more susceptible to hypoxia-induced cell death.
Brain iron accumulation has been suggested as a pathomechanism in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) with cognitive impairment. This research aims to examine the total-brain pattern of iron accumulation in relation to executive function decline in patients with T2DM by voxel-based quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM) analysis.
A total of 32 patients with T2DM and 34 age- and sex-matched healthy controls (HCs) were enrolled in this study. All participants underwent brain magnetic resonance examination, and 48 individuals underwent cognitive function assessments. Imaging data were collected with three-dimensional fast low-angle shot sequences to achieve magnitude as well as phase images. Using voxel-based QSM analysis, we compared the voxel-wise susceptibility values of the whole brain among groups and explored whether the susceptibility values had correlations with cognitive data.
Among the 66 participants, cognitive function was estimated in 23 patients with T2DM (11 males and 12 femalesve function decline in T2DM might be associated with the cerebral iron burden and that changes in susceptibility values may represent a latent quantitative imaging marker for early assessment of cognitive decline in patients with T2DM.

More recently, interactions with extracellular α+/β- interfaces have been investigated, where strong positive modulation can be steered toward interesting subtype preferences. One hundred and twenty-six right-handed subjects with histologically confirmed cerebral glioma were included with 80 tumors located in the left hemisphere (LH) and 46 tumors located in the right hemisphere (RH). Resting-state functional networks of the contralesional hemisphere were constructed using the human brainnetome atlas based on resting-state fMRI data. Functional connectivity and topological features of functional networks were quantified. The performance of functional features in predicting the glioma grade was evaluated using area under (AUC) the receite glioma characterization and management at the individual level. Functional remodeling of the contralesional hemisphere was hemisphere-specific and highly predictive of the malignant grade of glioma. Patients with CMS suffer from severe hypoxemia, excessive erythrocytosis and neurologic deficits. The cellular mechanisms underlying CMS neuropathology remain unknown. We previously showed that iPSC-derived CMS neurons have altered mitochondrial dynamics and increased susceptibility to hypoxia-induced cell death. Genome analysis from the same population identified many ER stress-related genes that play an important role in hypoxia adaptation or lack thereof. In the current study, we showed that iPSC-derived CMS neurons have increased expression of ER stress markers Grp78 and XBP1s under normoxia and hyperphosphorylation of PERK under hypoxia, alleviating ER stress does not rescue the hypoxia-induced CMS neuronal cell death. Akt is a cytosolic regulator of ER stress with PERK as a direct target of Akt. CMS neurons exhibited lack of Akt activation and lack of increased Parkin expression as compared to non-CMS neurons under hypoxia. By enhancing Akt activation and Parkin overexpression, hypoxia-induced CMS neuronal cell death was reduced. Taken together, we propose that increased Akt activation protects non-CMS from hypoxia-induced cell death. In contrast, impaired adaptive mechanisms including failure to activate Akt and increase Parkin expression render CMS neurons more susceptible to hypoxia-induced cell death. This research aims to examine the total-brain pattern of iron accumulation in relation to executive function decline in patients with T2DM by voxel-based quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM) analysis. A total of 32 patients with T2DM and 34 age- and sex-matched healthy controls (HCs) were enrolled in this study. All participants underwent brain magnetic resonance examination, and 48 individuals underwent cognitive function assessments. Imaging data were collected with three-dimensional fast low-angle shot sequences to achieve magnitude as well as phase images. Using voxel-based QSM analysis, we compared the voxel-wise susceptibility values of the whole brain among groups and explored whether the susceptibility values had correlations with cognitive data. Few studies have been conducted on the relationship between chronic periodontitis and postoperative pneumonia (POP) in patients with lung and esophageal cancer. Furthermore, it remains controversial as to whether improving the periodontal condition of patients with lung and esophageal cancer before surgery reduces the incidence of POP. This retrospective study was conducted to assess the effects of periodontal therapy in patients with lung and esophageal cancer to prevent POP.
A total of 265 patients with lung or esophageal cancer complicated with chronic periodontitis who underwent open thoracotomy between July 2015 and June 2019 were selected and given the choice of being in the experimental or control group. A total of 141 participants in the experimental group received periodontal therapy, and 124 participants in the control group did not receive periodontal therapy. All clinical data of participants in both groups were retrospectively studied to determine the incidence of POP on the 30th day after dig and esophageal cancer surgery. Improving the periodontal condition of patients helps prevent POP. The presence of periodontitis is an important predisposing factor for POP in patients after open thoracotomy. Periodontal examination and therapy are recommended before the surgical treatment of lung or esophageal cancer.Biomarkers can be ideal indicators for assessing the risk of the presence of a disease. In this study, a label-free electrochemical biosensor was designed to quantify the vascular endothelial growth factor A (165) (VEGF-A(165)) antigen, using reduced graphene oxide-gold nanoparticle for early detection of breast cancer. The conductivity of gold nanoparticle along with its biocompatibility provide an enhanced surface, suitable for anti-VEGF antibody immobilization. 11-mercaptoundecanoic acid was used to facilitate a single-step and convenient bonding of the antibodies to the surface, compared to previous studies. The limited antitumor activity of immunotherapy in germ cell tumors is, at least partially, attributed to tumor biology (low tumor mutational burden; low PD-1 expression) and other poor-risk features. Tumor profiling to understand the mechanisms of resistance to pembrolizumab and innovative clinical trials that may include immunotherapy are warranted.

This scoping review aimed to collate, summarise, and report on related study findings to identify evidence gaps and draw conclusions from the existing literature.
The methodological steps outlined in the Arksey and O'Malley framework combined with modifications of Levac and colleagues guided this systematic scoping review. MEDLINEComplete, Embase, CINAHLComplete and PsychINFO databases were searched. Additionally, hand searches of key articles and journals were performed.
From the database searches, 610 studies were identified with 11 meeting the inclusion criteria; another study was added after searching reference lists of included articles, resulting in 12 included articles. The quality, study design and type of virtual reality intervention varied. Only three studies used immersive virtual reality. Several studies demonstrated significant improvement in the physical activity level and a reduction in fatigue in patients during haemodialysis, with no adverse events.

Expression of the different pH regulators was evaluated by immunofluorescence and Western blot in two breast cancer cell lines (MDA-MB-231 and MCF-7) and by immunohistochemistry in human breast cancer tissues. Cell viability, migration and invasion were evaluated upon exposure to the pH regulator inhibitors (PRIs) concanamycin-A, cariporide, acetazolamide and cyano-4-hydroxycinnamate. Additionally, PRIs were combined with doxorubicin to analyze the effect of cell pH dynamic disruption on doxorubicin sensitivity. Both cancer cell lines expressed all pH regulators, except for MCT1 and CAXII, only expressed in MCF-7 cells. There was higher plasma membrane expression of the pH regulators in human breast cancer tissues than in normal breast epithelium. In this review will be highlighted recent results on modification of curcumin scaffold in the search of new effective therapeutic agents against NDs, with particular emphasis on AD.An epidemiological model, which describes the transmission dynamics of SARS-CoV-2 under specific consideration of the incubation period including the population with subclinical infections and being infective is presented. The COVID-19 epidemic in Greece was explored through a Monte Carlo uncertainty analysis framework, and the optimal values for the parameters that determined the transmission dynamics could be obtained before, during, and after the interventions to control the epidemic. The dynamic change of the fraction of asymptomatic individuals was shown. The analysis of the modelling results at the intra-annual climatic scale allowed for in depth investigation of the transmission dynamics of SARS-CoV-2 and the significance and relative importance of the model parameters. Moreover, the analysis at this scale incorporated the exploration of the forecast horizon and its variability. Three discrete peaks were found in the transmission rates throughout the investigated period (15 February-15 December 2020). Two of them corresponded to the timing of the spring and autumn epidemic waves while the third one occurred in mid-summer, implying that relaxation of social distancing and increased mobility may have a strong effect on rekindling the epidemic dynamics offsetting positive effects from factors such as decreased household crowding and increased environmental ultraviolet radiation. Methods An economic modelling framework was built to estimate the incremental costs pre- and post-implementation of interventions designed to reduce exposure to indoor air pollution within dwellings of varying building-related risk factors and profiles. The intervention cost was varied simultaneously with the relative reduction in symptomatic cases of each health condition to estimate the point at which an intervention may become cost-saving. Four health conditions were considered. The analysis of the modelling results at the intra-annual climatic scale allowed for in depth investigation of the transmission dynamics of SARS-CoV-2 and the significance and relative importance of the model parameters. The present study investigated the influence of emotional contexts on mental flexibility in adults with Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) using a voluntary task-switching paradigm that was implemented with emotionally valenced pictures. The study aims were to assess whether adults with PWS have impaired switching abilities, whether the deficit is specific to PWS or linked to intellectual disabilities, and the influence of emotional contexts on performance.
The task-switching performance of 30 adults with PWS was compared with that of 30 healthy adults matched on chronological age, and to that of 30 adults with intellectual disabilities but without PWS, matched on intellectual quotient level and chronological age. Indicators of switching performance were switching cost and repetition bias. Emotional contexts were operationalised with positive, neutral and negative task-irrelevant pictures.
Adults with PWS showed a large increase in switching costs compared with the two control groups, and this effect did not vary across emotional contexts. More fine-tuned examination revealed subtle performance modulations negative contexts tended to increase the repetition bias in all three groups while positive contexts slowed down global performance in PWS.
The results confirmed previous studies, showing impaired switching abilities in PWS over and beyond the influence of intellectual level, but revealed no robust variations in switching deficits across emotional contexts.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in Helicobacter pylori is increasing globally and can result in treatment failure and inappropriate antibiotic usage. This study used whole genome sequencing (WGS) to conduct an analysis of the H.pylori resistome and phylogeny.
A total of 1040 H.pylori isolate sequences were retrieved. Analysis was conducted via an in-house bioinformatics pipeline targeting point mutations in selected genes frequently associated with AMR (pbp1A, 23S rRNA, gyrA, rdxA, frxA, and rpoB) and phylogenomic analyses using core genome multilocus sequence typing (cgMLST).
Phylogenomic analysis revealed a notable geographical clustering of H.pylori genomes across world regions, but large distances of more than 1000 loci between isolates on individual branches were observed. Resistome analysis revealed the prevalence of common mutations which have previously been found to correlate with phenotypic antibiotic resistance; the most common point mutations for each gene were S589G (pbp1A, 48.8% of perfect aligned sequences), A2143G (23S rRNA, 27.4% of perfectly aligned sequences), N87K\I\Y (gyrA, 14.7% of perfectly aligned sequences), R131K (rdxA, 65.7% of perfectly aligned sequences), and C193S (frxA, 62.6% of perfectly aligned sequences).
This is the largest study to date featuring the global phylogeny of H.pylori in conjunction with a global snapshot of the H.pylori resistome based on >1000 genomes. Finally, the improved depth map is obtained by applying guided filtering of initial depth by incorporating the weights from the suggested guidance map. Experiments were carried out using synthetic and real and microscopic image sequences of various objects. Experimental results have demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed method and a reasonable improvement has been achieved in the quality of reconstructed depth maps.
The influence of body composition changes during neoadjuvant treatment (NT) on long-term survival in patients with gastric cancer (GC) undergoing radical gastrectomy remains unclear. The present study aimed to explore the association between changes in body composition during NT and survival in patients with GC.
GC patients treated with NT and radical gastrectomy between 2015 and 2018 were included in this retrospective study. Skeletal muscle mass, visceral adipose tissue (VAT) and subcutaneous adipose tissue (SAT) were measured by computer tomography before and after NT. Body composition changes during NT were compared with Kaplan-Meier curves. Univariate and multivariate regression analyses were applied to determine the predictors of overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS).

In this study, satisfactory anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects of PL-PPS/BBR were confirmed. Immunofluorescence and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images showed that PL-PPS/BBR effectively accumulated in OHCs and protected the morphological integrity of OHCs. The auditory brainstem response (ABR) results demonstrated that PL-PPS/BBR significantly improved hearing in NIHL guinea pigs after noise exposure. The evaporation area was exposed to air with enhanced natural convection and double-side evaporation. The draping fabric was prepared by coating the mixture of carbon black (CB) and cross-linked sodium alginate (SA) on ramie fabric (CSRF). The draping CSRF realized an evaporation rate of 1.81 kg m-2 h-1 and efficiency of 96.6% under 1 sun illumination (1 kW m-2). In addition, by changing the yarn fineness of the fabric, a tunable water supply can be realized to optimize the energy distribution. This work provides a new strategy to design and optimize the solar evaporation system, exhibiting great potential in real-world applications.

However, the analyses of such studies have focused predominantly on their main intervention effects; most studies ignore the mechanisms underlying how the intervention programs work partly because of lack of application details of the longitudinal mediation analysis techniques.
The aim of this study was to illustrate an application of parallel process latent growth curve modeling (PP-LGCM) to examine longitudinal moderated mediation effects.
Longitudinal data from an online bone health intervention study were used to demonstrate the step-by-step application of PP-LGCM with Mplus statistical software.
With modification indices, we were able to achieve adequate model fit for PP-LGCM in our data. The mediation effects of self-efficacy on the intervention effects on exercise were nonsignificant for the entire sample. However, the conditional indirect effect showed the mediation effects were moderated by age group.
