We aim to summarize the available literature in this regard and propose an integrated approach to psychiatric assessment and management of mental health issues among this group. Methods  Electronic search of MEDLINE, Google Scholar, and PsycINFO databases was done to identify relevant peer-reviewed English language articles from inception till April 2020. Generated abstracts were screened for their eligibility. Included articles were grouped according to their thematic focus under the following headings; prevalence of psychiatric morbidity among clients posted for cosmetic surgery, assessment tools, and management of psychiatric morbidity in relation to undergoing cosmetic surgery. Results  A total of 120 articles were reviewed. The prevalence of psychiatric disorder in patients undergoing cosmetic surgery was 4 to 57% for body dysmorphic disorder (BDD); the corresponding figures for depression, anxiety, and personality disorder were 4.8 to 25.8, 10.8 to 22, and 0 to 53%, respectively. A range of tools have been used to assess these disorders and specific measures are also available to assess clinical outcomes following surgery. Screening for these disorders is essential to prevent unnecessary surgical procedures, as well as to ensure timely management of the psychiatric comorbidity. Conclusion  Psychiatric morbidity is a common concomitant in cosmetic surgery. Because the stable isotopic composition of precipitation varies geographically, variation in surface water isotope ratios indicates the volume-weighted integration of upstream source water. We measured the stable isotope ratios of surface water samples collected in the Snoqualmie River basin in western Washington over June and September 2017 and the 2018 water year. We used ordinary least squares regression and geostatistical Spatial Stream Network models to relate surface water isotope ratios to mean watershed elevation (MWE) across seasons. Geologic and discharge data was integrated with water isotopes to create a conceptual model of streamflow generation for the Snoqualmie River. We found that surface water stable isotope ratios were lowest in the spring and highest in the dry, Mediterranean summer, but related strongly to MWE throughout the year. Low isotope ratios in spring reflect the input of snowmelt into high elevation tributaries. The aim of this didactic pictorial essay is to illustrate various findings on placental MRI, as well as to emphasize the importance of communication between radiologists and obstetricians in the search for best practices in the management of the affected patients.

    Level 1 Trauma patients were prospectively enrolled in the study over a 9-mo period with the goal of obtaining 3 paired data points from 150 patients admitted to the ICU or IMU. Hospital laboratory hemoglobin values were compared with cyanomethemoglobin (HiCN) and Masimo device hemoglobin (SpHb) values using comparison plots and Bland-Altman analysis.

    A total of 380 patients were enrolled in the study with 150 of those being admitted to the ICU or IMU. Comparison of hospital lab hemoglobin and HiCN (n=494) found a correlation of R2=0.92. Comparison of hospital lab hemoglobin and Masimo device hemoglobin (n=218) found a correlation of R2=0.27.     The multiple chest x-ray datasets released in the last years have ground-truth labels intended for different computer vision tasks, suggesting that performance in automated chest x-ray interpretation might improve by using a method that can exploit diverse types of annotations. This work presents a Deep Learning method based on the late fusion of different convolutional architectures, that allows training with heterogeneous data with a simple implementation, and evaluates its performance on independent test data. We focused on obtaining a clinically useful tool that could be successfully integrated into a hospital workflow.

Absent intervention, participants predict that the AI's classifications will match their own, but explanations generated by Bayesian teaching improve their ability to predict the AI's judgements by moving them away from this prior belief. In this study, a total of 28,854 potential SSRs were identified with a frequency of 4.63 kb. A total of 172 primer pairs were synthesized and preliminarily screened in 10 C. japonica accessions, and of these primer pairs, 111 were found to be polymorphic. Fifty-one polymorphic SSR markers were randomly selected to perform further analysis of the genetic relationships of 89 accessions across the genus Camellia. Cluster analysis revealed major clusters corresponding to those based on taxonomic classification and geographic origin. We retrospectively evaluated clinical features, disease activity, Steinbrocker radiological staging, and co-morbidities (diabetes mellitus, hypertension, dyslipidemia) in 238 RA patients. eGFR using serum creatinine (eGFR-Cr) and eGFR using serum cystatin C (eGFR-CysC) were calculated using the new Japanese coefficient-modified Modification of Diet in Renal Disease study equation. To clarify the cause(s) of differences of 20% or more between the two eGFRs, we divided our RA patients into Group A (eGFR-Cr/eGFR-CysC ≥ 1.2) and Group B (eGFR-Cr/eGFR-CysC  less then  1.2), and searched for factors independently related to Group A. Forty-five patients (18.9%) were assigned to Group A, and 193 (81.1%) to Group B. We assess Bayesian teaching in a binary image classification task across a variety of contexts. Absent intervention, participants predict that the AI's classifications will match their own, but explanations generated by Bayesian teaching improve their ability to predict the AI's judgements by moving them away from this prior belief. Bayesian teaching further allows each case to be broken down into sub-examples (here saliency maps). These sub-examples complement whole examples by improving error detection for familiar categories, whereas whole examples help predict correct AI judgements of unfamiliar cases.Camellia is a genus of flowering plants in the family Theaceae, and several species in this genus have economic importance. Although a great deal of molecular makers has been developed for molecular assisted breeding in genus Camellia in the past decade, the number of simple sequence repeats (SSRs) publicly available for plants in this genus is insufficient. In this study, a total of 28,854 potential SSRs were identified with a frequency of 4.63 kb. A total of 172 primer pairs were synthesized and preliminarily screened in 10 C. japonica accessions, and of these primer pairs, 111 were found to be polymorphic. Fifty-one polymorphic SSR markers were randomly selected to perform further analysis of the genetic relationships of 89 accessions across the genus Camellia. Cluster analysis revealed major clusters corresponding to those based on taxonomic classification and geographic origin. Furthermore, all the genotypes of C. japonica separated and consistently grouped well in the genetic structure analysis. We retrospectively evaluated clinical features, disease activity, Steinbrocker radiological staging, and co-morbidities (diabetes mellitus, hypertension, dyslipidemia) in 238 RA patients. eGFR using serum creatinine (eGFR-Cr) and eGFR using serum cystatin C (eGFR-CysC) were calculated using the new Japanese coefficient-modified Modification of Diet in Renal Disease study equation. To clarify the cause(s) of differences of 20% or more between the two eGFRs, we divided our RA patients into Group A (eGFR-Cr/eGFR-CysC ≥ 1.2) and Group B (eGFR-Cr/eGFR-CysC  less then  1.2), and searched for factors independently related to Group A. Forty-five patients (18.9%) were assigned to Group A, and 193 (81.1%) to Group B. The suction gripper is in its soft state during approach and attachment while it is switched to its rigid state during picking. Such stiffness switching is enabled by filling the soft suction cup with a magnetorheological fluid (MR fluid), which is switched between low-viscosity (soft) and high-viscosity (rigid) states using a strong magnetic field. We characterized the gripper by measuring the force required to pull the gripper from a smooth glass surface. In line with hypotheses, better-than-needed progress toward 1 goal led to (a) reduced subsequent progress toward that goal (as reflected in lower goal-related performance; coasting) and (b) a shift of resources toward the alternative goal (as reflected in higher goal-related performance on the alternative goal; shifting). Experiment 1 further demonstrated that positive feedback led to positive affect, and Experiment 2 demonstrated the causal role of affect in coasting and shifting. We show that quantum tunneling in the cation methyl groups, measured by high-resolution inelastic neutron scattering, can be used to probe the order-disorder in room-temperature ionic liquids (crystalline vs amorphous state) that develops as a result of variable processing conditions.
    Traumatic injury is associated with increased concentrations of cell-free DNA (cfDNA) in the circulation, which contribute to post-injury complications. The endonuclease deoxyribonuclease 1 (DNase-1) is responsible for removing 90% of circulating cfDNA. Recently, DNase activity was reported to be significantly reduced following major non-traumatic brain injury (TBI), but the processes responsible were not investigated. Moreover, it is not known how quickly following injury DNase activity is reduced and whether this also occurs after TBI.

    At 3 post-injury time points (≤1, 4-12 and 48-72hours), blood samples were obtained from 155 adult trauma patients that had sustained an isolated TBI (n = 21), TBI with accompanying extracranial injury (TBI
    ) (n = 53) or an extracranial injury only (ECI) (n = 81). In addition to measuring cfDNA levels and the activity and expression of DNase, circulating concentrations of monomeric globular action (G-actin), an inhibitor of DNase-1, and the actin scavenging proteins gelstivity. We propose that, secondary to reduced GSN and VDBP levels, elevated circulating concentrations of G-actin underlie the post-injury reduction in DNase activity. Reducing circulating cfDNA levels via therapeutic restoration of DNase-1 activity may improve clinical outcomes post-injury.

  • Patients in need of extensive prosthodontic treatment may need restoration of their occlusal vertical dimension (OVD) due to tooth wear, tooth loss, or changes that have occurred to existing prostheses over time. Prosthodontic treatment is based on the clinical application of the available evidence regarding interocclusal distance (IOD), the positional stability of rest vertical dimension (RVD), and the effect of altering the OVD. Hence, the purpose of this consensus document is to examine available data related to IOD, RVD, and alteration of the OVD.

    The objective of this Critically Appraised Topic was to determine the level of evidence relative to the usefulness of the Frankfort mandibular plane angle in prosthodontic treatment.

    The Patient Intervention Comparison Outcome (PICO) mesh heading received zero PubMed references, as did Frankfort Mandibular Plane Angle (FMA) as a determinant for dental occlusion and Frankfort Mandibular Plane Angle as a determinant of the occlusal scheme. Frankfort Mandibular Plane Angle alone received 168 PubMed citations that highlighted 2 DiPietro articles and a third from the orthodontics literature which was a Randomized Controlled Trial not relevant to the PICO. Four others, three prosthodontic and one orthodontic publication, were related to the PICO. A Google search revealed one additional article, which was a narrative review.

    Nine articles were related to the search, 2 of which were clinical trials that revealed no evidence to support the use of FMA as a diagnostic test.

    Multiple clinical studies have been published comparing different philosophies of complete denture occlusion and different types of denture teeth. However, it is unclear whether comparable data are available for occlusal schemes used with removable partial dentures (RPDs). Therefore, this review investigated the dental literature related to occlusal schemes for RPDs.

    A PubMed search of English language articles was performed using the term "removable partial denture, occlusion" with 765 results. When the term "occlusion in removable partial prosthodontics" was used there were 784 results. Seventy-four articles were identified using the different search term of "RPD, occlusion" while use of the term "occlusal scheme, with removable partial dentures" listed 18 publications. The term "removable partial denture, occlusion, literature reviews" produced 38 potential publications related to the topic. Using the term "removable partial denture occlusion systematic review" resulted in 2 citations. Using the term " present and not periodontally compromised. When RPDs oppose a complete denture, several authors indicate a bilateral balanced occlusion should be used to help stabilize the complete denture.
    The purpose of this Best Evidence Consensus Statement was to evaluate the existing literature relative to two focus questions What are the techniques used and their reproducibility in recording centric relation (CR) in a dentate and partially dentate population and what effect do different recording materials have on the reproducibility of CR?

    Keywords used in the initial search were CR, interocclusal records, CR accuracy, CR reproducibility, and CR technique. The search was then limited to Systematic Reviews, Randomized Controlled Studies, Meta-analyses, and Clinical Trials.

    Initial search related to the selected search terms resulted in more than 3500 articles. When subsequent search was limited to Systematic Reviews, Randomized Controlled Studies, and Meta-Analysis and Clinical Trials, this resulted in 291 articles selected for further analysis.

    Techniques using chin point guidance, bimanual manipulation, power centric, Gothic arch tracing, leaf gauge, and anterior deprogramming devices to record CR can all be comparable in precision and clinical accuracy in regards to clinical relevance. Practitioner experience and familiarity with a particular technique is critical for accuracy when recording CR. Polyvinyl siloxane and polyether consistently performed better in the broad range of studies on recording materials. Virtual capture of CR could serve as a comparable recording medium but requires further clinical study.

There is a range of dimensions for the interocclusal distance (IOD) with many normal dental patients functioning with a higher or lower IOD than the commonly used 3.0 mm average dimension. The resting vertical dimension (RVD) is a 3-dimensional range with little evidence related to changes in the RVD during life. However, aging can cause a decrease in muscle tone which could affect the RVD. The restoration of the OVD can be successfully accomplished if proper diagnosis and treatment planning are performed. The objective of this Critically Appraised Topic was to determine the level of evidence relative to the usefulness of the Frankfort mandibular plane angle in prosthodontic treatment. The Patient Intervention Comparison Outcome (PICO) mesh heading received zero PubMed references, as did Frankfort Mandibular Plane Angle (FMA) as a determinant for dental occlusion and Frankfort Mandibular Plane Angle as a determinant of the occlusal scheme. Frankfort Mandibular Plane Angle alone received 168 PubMed citations that highlighted 2 DiPietro articles and a third from the orthodontics literature which was a Randomized Controlled Trial not relevant to the PICO. Four others, three prosthodontic and one orthodontic publication, were related to the PICO. A Google search revealed one additional article, which was a narrative review. Nine articles were related to the search, 2 of which were clinical trials that revealed no evidence to support the use of FMA as a diagnostic test. Based on the limited data presented above, there is a lack of evidence to support the use of FMA as a diagnostic procedure to predict outcomes, or dictate prosthodontic treatment. Multiple clinical studies have been published comparing different philosophies of complete denture occlusion and different types of denture teeth. However, it is unclear whether comparable data are available for occlusal schemes used with removable partial dentures (RPDs). Therefore, this review investigated the dental literature related to occlusal schemes for RPDs. A PubMed search of English language articles was performed using the term "removable partial denture, occlusion" with 765 results. When the term "occlusion in removable partial prosthodontics" was used there were 784 results. Seventy-four articles were identified using the different search term of "RPD, occlusion" while use of the term "occlusal scheme, with removable partial dentures" listed 18 publications. The term "removable partial denture, occlusion, literature reviews" produced 38 potential publications related to the topic. Using the term "removable partial denture occlusion systematic review" resulted in 2 citations. Using the term " present and not periodontally compromised. When RPDs oppose a complete denture, several authors indicate a bilateral balanced occlusion should be used to help stabilize the complete denture. Techniques using chin point guidance, bimanual manipulation, power centric, Gothic arch tracing, leaf gauge, and anterior deprogramming devices to record CR can all be comparable in precision and clinical accuracy in regards to clinical relevance. Practitioner experience and familiarity with a particular technique is critical for accuracy when recording CR. Virtual capture of CR could serve as a comparable recording medium but requires further clinical study. This work aims at fully exploiting the spatial-spectral HSI data through a deep Convolution Neural Network (CNN). In-depth analysis of the results obtained with GA models through the analysis of target DNA and mRNA quantification is also provided, to evaluate which pitfalls can be detected using these two methods, and we propose recommendations for the characterization of different type of mutant allele (knock-out, knock-in, conditional knock-out, FLEx, IKMC model or transgenic). Our results also highlight the possibility that mRNA expression of any mutated allele can be different from what might be expected in theory or according to common assumptions. The pandemic provides a unique setting over which to bracket the range of possible COVID-19 prevalence and mortality outcomes given the proliferation of estimates from epidemiological models. We rely on the epidemiological model produced by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation together with the set of epidemiological models summarised by FiveThirtyEight to bound prevalence and mortality outcomes for one-month, and December 1, 2020 time horizons. We develop a new method to partition these bounds into intervals, and ask subjects to place bets on these intervals, thereby revealing their beliefs. The intervals are constructed such that if beliefs are consistent with epidemiological models, subjects are best off betting the same amount on every interval. We use an incentivised experiment to elicit beliefs about COVID-19 prevalence and mortality from 598 students at Georgia State University, using six temporally-spaced waves between May and November 2020. We find that beliefs differ markedly from epidemiological models, which has implications for public health communication about the risks posed by the virus.

  • The fibrous architecture of the extracellular matrix (ECM) is recognized as an integral regulator of cell function. However, there is an unmet need to develop mechanically robust biomaterials mimicking nanofibrous tissue topography that are also injectable to enable minimally invasive delivery. In this study, we have developed a fibrous hydrogel composed of supramolecularly assembled hyaluronic acid (HA) nanofibers that exhibits mechanical integrity, shear-thinning behavior, rapid self-healing, and cytocompatibility. HA was modified with methacrylates to permit fiber photo-cross-linking following electrospinning and either "guest" adamantane or "host" β-cyclodextrin groups to guide supramolecular fibrous hydrogel assembly. Analysis of fibrous hydrogel rheological properties showed that the mixed guest-host fibrous hydrogel was more mechanically robust (6.6 ± 2.0 kPa, storage modulus (G')) than unmixed guest hydrogel fibers (1.0 ± 0.1 kPa) or host hydrogel fibers (1.1 ± 0.1 kPa) separately. The reversible nature of the guest-host supramolecular interactions also allowed for shear-thinning and self-healing behavior as demonstrated by cyclic deformation testing. Human mesenchymal stromal cells (hMSCs) encapsulated in fibrous hydrogels demonstrated satisfactory viability following injection and after 7 days of culture (>85%). Encapsulated hMSCs were more spread and elongated when cultured in viscoelastic guest-host hydrogels compared to nonfibrous elastic controls, with hMSCs also showing significantly decreased circularity in fibrous guest-host hydrogels compared to nonfibrous guest-host hydrogels. Together, these data highlight the potential of this injectable fibrous hydrogel platform for cell and tissue engineering applications requiring minimally invasive delivery.Considering the attractive optoelectronic properties of metal halide perovskites (MHPs), their introduction to the field of photocatalysis was only a matter of time. Thus far, MHPs have been explored for the photocatalytic generation of hydrogen, carbon dioxide reduction, organic synthesis, and pollutant degradation applications. Of growing research interest and possible applied significance are the currently emerging developments of MHP-based Z-scheme heterostructures, which can potentially enable efficient photocatalysis of highly energy-demanding redox processes. In this Perspective, we discuss the advantages and limitations of MHPs compared to traditional semiconductor materials for applications as photocatalysts and describe emerging examples in the construction of MHP-based Z-scheme systems. The aggregation of the complexes leads to different photoluminescent properties that allow visualization of the different assemblies and their evolution. This approach has high separation efficiency and predictable retention behavior, making separation optimization easy. Atmospheric ionization techniques, such as atmospheric chemical ionization (APCI) and electrospray ionization (ESI), are the most studied SFC-MS interfaces. These processes require the addition of makeup solvents to prevent precipitation or crystallization of the solute while depressurizing the mobile phase. In contrast, the PTR process is carried out in a vacuum; supercritical carbon dioxide may release solute into the PTR flow tube without a phase transition as long as it is maintained above a critical temperature.

Primary outcomes were measures of acute care use after 4 common elective operations joint replacement, spinal fusion, bariatric surgery, and coronary artery bypass grafting. A framework for matching changing demand with changes in supply was created by overlaying acute care data with publicly available outbreak capacity data.

    Elective coronary artery bypass grafting (n = 117 423) had the highest acute care use 92.8% of patients used intensive care unit beds, 89.1% required postoperative mechanical ventilation, 41.0% required red blood cell transfusions, and 13.3% were readmitted within 90 days of surgery. Acute care use was also substantial after spinal fusion (n = 203 789) 8.3% of patients used intensive care unit beds, 2.2% required postoperative mechanical ventilation, 9.2% required red blood cell transfusions, and 9.3% were readmitted within 90 days of surgery. An example of a framework for matching hospital demand with elective surgery supply is provided.

  • Short tandem repeats (STRs) are genetic markers with a greater mutation rate than single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and are widely used in genetic studies and forensics. However, most studies in pigs have focused only on SNPs or on a limited number of STRs.

    This study screened 394 deep-sequenced genomes from 22 domesticated pig breeds/populations worldwide, wild boars from both Europe and Asia, and numerous outgroup Suidaes, and identified a set of 878,967 polymorphic STRs (pSTRs), which represents the largest repository of pSTRs in pigs to date. We found multiple lines of evidence that pSTRs in coding regions were affected by purifying selection. The enrichment of trinucleotide pSTRs in coding sequences (CDS), 5'UTR and H3K4me3 regions suggests that trinucleotide STRs serve as important components in the exons and promoters of the corresponding genes. We demonstrated that, compared to SNPs, pSTRs provide comparable or even greater accuracy in determining the breed identity of individuals. Here, we present a review of human studies summarizing the clinical features of individuals with FOXP1 syndrome and enlist a multidisciplinary group of clinicians (pediatrics, genetics, psychiatry, neurology, cardiology, endocrinology, nephrology, and psychology) to provide recommendations for the assessment of FOXP1 syndrome.Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2, previously 2019-nCoV) is suspected of having originated in 2019 in China from a coronavirus infected bat of the genus Rhinolophus. Following the initial emergence, possibly facilitated by a mammalian bridge host, SARS-CoV-2 is currently transmitted across the globe via efficient human-to-human transmission. Results obtained from experimental studies indicate that animal species such as cats, ferrets, raccoon dogs, cynomolgus macaques, rhesus macaques, white-tailed deer, rabbits, Egyptian fruit bats, and Syrian hamsters are susceptible to SARS-CoV-2 infection, and that cat-to-cat and ferret-to-ferret transmission can take place via contact and air. However, natural infections of SARS-CoV-2 have been reported only in pet dogs and cats, tigers, lions, snow leopards, pumas, and gorillas at zoos, and farmed mink and ferrets. Even though human-to-animal spillover has been reported at several instances, SARS-CoV-2 transmission from animals-to-humans has only been reported from mink-to-humans in mink farms. Following the rapid transmission of SARS-CoV-2 within the mink population, a new mink-associated SARS-CoV-2 variant emerged that was identified in both humans and mink. The increasing reports of SARS-CoV-2 in carnivores indicate the higher susceptibility of animal species belonging to this order. The sporadic reports of SARS-CoV-2 infection in domestic and wild animal species require further investigation to determine if SARS-CoV-2 or related Betacoronaviruses can get established in kept, feral or wild animal populations, which may eventually act as viral reservoirs. This review analyzes the current evidence of SARS-CoV-2 natural infection in domestic and wild animal species and their possible implications on public health.This matched cohort study was retrospectively performed, with cycles extracted from freeze-all-IVF treatments performed between March and November 2019, to compare the efficacy of flexible-start dydrogesterone (DYG) co-treatment ovarian stimulations (OS) with flexible-start medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA) co-treatment OS. DYG cycles were matched 11 with MPA cycles using female age and antral follicle count, resulting in 236 matched cycles. OS durations and total FSH doses were similar in DYG and MPA OS cycles. The numbers of mature oocytes retrieved were similar; however, the mature oocyte retrieval rate was significantly lower (66.7 vs. 78.2%; p = .001) and the cycle cancellation rates were higher (29.2 vs. 21.2%; p = .056) in DYG co-treatments. A linear regression selected OS co-treatment protocol (0.53 DYG (0.356-0.776), p = .001) into the final model to predict a ≥ 80% mature oocyte retrieval rate. The per transfer (47.2 vs. 49.7; p = .721) and per treatment ongoing pregnancy rates (32.2 vs. 38.1%, p = imulation (OS) cycles were similar to rates in flexible-start medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA) co-treatment OS cycles.   • Background Coronavirus primarily targets the human respiratory system, COVID-19 (Coronavirus disease 2019) triggered in China in the late 2019. In March 2020, WHO announced the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to analyze and visualize the scientific structure of the COVID-19 publications using co-citation and co-authorship. Methods This is a scientometric study. Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) was searched for all documents regarding COVID-19, MERS-Cov, and SARS-Cov from the beginning to 2020. An Excel spreadsheet was applied to gather and analyze the data and the CiteSpace was used to visualize and analyze the data. Results A total of 5159 records were retrieved in WoSCC. The structure of the network indicated that the network mean silhouette was low (0.1444), implying that the network clusters' identity is not identifiable with high confidence. The network modularity was 0.7309. The cluster analysis of the co-citation network on documents from 2003 to 2020 provided 188 clusters. The largest cluster entitled, "the Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus" had 255 nodes. The coauthorship network illustrated that the most prolific countries, USA, China, and Saudi Arabia, have focused on a specific field and have formed separate clusters. Conclusion The present study identified the important topics of research in the field of COVID-19 based on co-citation networks as well as the analysis of clusters of countries' collaborations. Therefore, biomarkers of abnormal Aβ processing may represent before the AD clinical biomarkers, which could be benefit for a successful disease management that may prevent the AD development. The aim of this study is to investigate of plasma Aβ40,42 levels in Alzheimer's patients in Syria and thus determine whether they may have a potential role as biomarker for identifying and predicting AD. Methods In this cross-sectional study, the plasma levels of Aβ1-40 and Aβ1-42 were investigated in two groups represent Syrian population, AD group; clinically diagnosed AD patients (n=50) and CN group; cognitively normal participants (n=33). This study first determined the reference interval of plasma Aβ1-40 and Aβ1-42 for cognitively normal Syrian. Results were analyzed using SPSS, 24, depending on independent-samples t test, considering that the value of p less then 0.05 is statistically significant. Results The results showed that the plasma levels of Aβ1-40 (p less then 0.001, OR=1.031, 95%CI 1.012-1.051) and Aβ1-42 (p less then 0.001, OR=1.306, 95%CI 1.145-1.490) were significantly higher in AD patients than in cognitively normal participants, and no significant association was shown between both of education and sex with plasma Aβ levels. Methods This retrospective cohort study included 370 patients with Laryngeal cancer who referred to the hospitals of Kerman city, Iran during 2008 to 2018. Data were analyzed using Cox Proportional Hazards and Lin-Ying's Additive Hazards models. Data analysis was done using SAS software version 9.4. The P-value of less than 0.05 was considered as statistically significant. Results The mean age at the time of diagnosis was 58.16±10.60 years. About 92% of the patients were men. The patient's 1, 3, 5, 7 and 10-years of overall survival rates were equal to 82.38%, 60.68%, 55.98%, 49.83%, and 30.91%, respectively. Age at the diagnosis (p=0.001), radiotherapy (p=0.001), chemotherapy (p=0.015), surgery (p=0.031), and smoking (p=0.001) were found to have significant effect on the patient's survival rate in the Cox model. These variables were significant in the Lin-Ying model too.     Background Coronavirus primarily targets the human respiratory system, COVID-19 (Coronavirus disease 2019) triggered in China in the late 2019. In March 2020, WHO announced the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to analyze and visualize the scientific structure of the COVID-19 publications using co-citation and co-authorship. Methods This is a scientometric study. Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) was searched for all documents regarding COVID-19, MERS-Cov, and SARS-Cov from the beginning to 2020. An Excel spreadsheet was applied to gather and analyze the data and the CiteSpace was used to visualize and analyze the data. Results A total of 5159 records were retrieved in WoSCC. The structure of the network indicated that the network mean silhouette was low (0.1444), implying that the network clusters' identity is not identifiable with high confidence. The network modularity was 0.7309. The cluster analysis of the co-citation network on documents from 2003 to 2020 provided 188 clusters. The largest cluster entitled, "the Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus" had 255 nodes. The coauthorship network illustrated that the most prolific countries, USA, China, and Saudi Arabia, have focused on a specific field and have formed separate clusters. The purpose of this retrospective study was to investigate the prevalence and patterns of hepatic steatosis after total pancreatectomy with islet autotransplant (TPIAT) and to determine if the unique patterns of steatosis seen in this study correlated with islet graft function. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Fifty-two subjects who had undergone MRI after TPIAT were reviewed for the presence of hepatic steatosis. Patterns of steatosis were categorized into three groups normal (no steatosis), homogeneous, and atypical. Demographics and outcomes were compared between the groups. Islet graft function 1 year after surgery was classified as full graft function, partial graft function, and graft failure. Statistical analysis was performed using ANOVA, Kruskal-Wallis, and Fisher exact tests. RESULTS. Sixty-three percent of patients had steatosis present on MRI after TPIAT (33 subjects of 52 total), and 48% (25/52) exhibited an atypical pattern. Twenty-four percent of the 37 patients who had MRI examinations before TPIAT showed steatosis preoperatively, yet none of these showed an atypical steatosis pattern. Islet graft function was not statistically different between the groups. The only statistically significant variable difference between the groups was body mass index (p = .02). CONCLUSION. Steatosis is a common finding after TPIAT, and atypical steatosis patterns frequently develop after the procedure, implying that the procedure itself is the causal factor. There was no correlation between islet graft function and the presence or pattern of steatosis. An atypical pattern of hepatic steatosis can therefore be considered an incidental finding after TPIAT and does not require additional workup or treatment.OBJECTIVE. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the accuracy and reliability of this alternative method of measuring the acetabular index compared with the traditional method. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Children 4 months to 8 years old who presented for evaluation of developmental dysplasia of the hip were included. Two physicians, each using both the traditional and the alternative method, measured acetabular indexes on all radiographs. Accuracy was defined as mean absolute error less than 6°. Reliability was calculated by means of intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC). RESULTS. Pelvic radiographs of 40 children (324 hips) were included. The mean age was 23.7 months (range, 4-96 months) and mean acetabular index was 24.2° (range, 8-50°). The alternative method was associated with mean absolute error of 2.50°, which is significantly below the threshold of 6° (t less then 0.001). Intrarater reliability for the traditional method was high (ICC, 0.81) and for the alternative method was very high (ICC, 0.92). Interrater reliability for the traditional method was high (ICC, 0.89) and for the alternative method was very high (ICC, 0.91). CONCLUSION.
