Digital health interventions (DHIs) can alleviate several barriers to achieving better maternal and child health. The World Health Organization's guideline recommendations for DHIs emphasize the need to integrate multiple DHIs for maximizing impact. The complex health system of Bangladesh provides a unique setting for evaluating and understanding the role of an electronic registry (eRegistry) for antenatal care, with multiple integrated DHIs for strengthening the health system as well as improving the quality and utilization of the public health care system.
The aim of this study is to assess the effect of an eRegistry with DHIs compared with a simple digital data entry tool without DHIs in the community and frontline health facilities.
The eRegMat is a cluster-randomized controlled trial conducted in the Matlab North and Matlab South subdistricts in the Chandpur district, Bangladesh, where health facilities are currently using the eRegistry for digital tracking of the health status of pregnant women loIs for strengthening the health system and aims to provide evidence for its implementation. The study design and outcomes are geared toward informing the living review process of the guidelines for implementing DHIs.

Osteoarthritis (OA), leading to hip replacement (THR), is a primary contributor to global mobility impairment. In 2018, more than 59,000 THR surgeries were performed in Canada. Health promotion education, such as prehabilitation, is vital to optimizing surgical outcomes.
This study aims to evaluate the feasibility of the Hip Instructional Prehabilitation Program for Enhanced Recovery (HIPPER), an eHealth approach to prehabilitation education.
A single-blind (assessor-blind), 2-arm, feasibility randomized controlled trial will be conducted. We will recruit 40 (HIPPER group, n=20; control group, n=20) older adults with hip OA and on a waitlist for a THR. The HIPPER intervention consists of 12 online, interactive modules. The control group will receive the current standard practice consisting of 2 online educational sessions lasting 2 hours each (webinars). Feasibility outcomes (eg, recruitment and retention rates) will be evaluated.
Recruitment started in March 2021. As of April 20, 2021, 18 participants were recruited. All 18 completed T1 measures. Only 1 participant has been scheduled to have a surgery and therefore has been scheduled to complete T2 measures. The remainder of the participants are waiting to be notified of their surgery date. This project was funded by a Canadian Institutes of Health Research Project Grant. Our institute's research ethics board approved this study in November 2016.
Results will lead to refinement of the HIPPER protocol in order to evaluate a standardized and geographically accessible prehabilitation program.

People with stroke and their caregivers experience numerous information needs; internet-based resources may offer cost-effective ways to improve access to information about this condition and its management, including the availability of resources and support. The quality of online health information is, therefore, an important consideration for both developers and consumers of these online resources.
This study aims to map and evaluate the content, readability, understandability, design, and quality characteristics of freely available online information resources (ie, websites) that empower people with stroke and their caregivers with information and self-help strategies poststroke.
This descriptive review will follow the five systematic and rigorous methodological steps that are recommended for scoping reviews, which include the following (1) identifying the research question, (2) identifying relevant studies, (3) selecting the studies, (4) charting the data, and (5) collating, summarizing, and reporting the results. Data will then be synthesized and analyzed thematically.
As of February 2021, the scoping review is in the data extraction stage. Data will be synthesized, and the first results are expected to be submitted for publication in an open-access peer-reviewed journal in August 2021. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/icg-001.html In addition, we will develop an accessible summary of the results for stakeholder meetings. Ethical approval is not required for this review, as it will only include publicly available information.

Chronic low **** pain (CLBP) is a global health problem associated with an increasing burden on individuals, health care systems, and society. Common treatments for people with CLBP produce, on average, small short-term improvements in pain and function compared with minimal care. The RESOLVE trial randomly allocated 276 people with CLBP to a new complex treatment strategy, pain education integrated with graded sensorimotor precision training (RESOLVE), or a sham control. The RESOLVE treatment was developed within a theoretical framework to target possible treatment mechanisms associated with CLBP development and persistence.
This protocol describes the planned evaluation of these proposed treatment mechanisms. Improved understanding of the mechanisms underpinning the RESOLVE treatment may guide its refinement and implementation.

Crack propagation direction is correlated with pre-set joint angles of the specimens. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/gdc-0077.html With the increase of the pre-set joint angles, the crack initiation angle decreases gradually. When the joint angles are around 30°-75°, the specimens develop obvious cracks. The crushing process of the specimens is simulated by LS-DYNA software. It is concluded that the stresses at the crack initiation time are concentrated between 20 and 40 MPa. The instantaneous stress curve first increases and then decreases with crack propagation, peaking at different times under various joint angles; but most of them occur when the crack penetration ratio reaches 80-90%. With the increment of joint angles in specimens through the simulation software, the changing trend of peak stress is consistent with the test results.In the facilities for the production of Radioactive Ion Beams (RIBs) according to the Isotope Separation On-Line (ISOL) technique, a production target is typically impinged by a high-power primary beam, generating radioactive isotopes for basic research and technological applications. With the aim to guarantee an efficient extraction of the aforementioned isotopes, the production target must work in a high vacuum environment, at temperatures that are usually between 1600 °C and 2200 °C. Its main components are often characterized by intense temperature gradients and consequently by severe thermal stresses. Carbides are widely used for target manufacturing, and in this work a specific method for their thermal and mechanical characterization is presented and discussed. It is based on the comparison between experimental measurements and numerical simulations, with the introduction of the novel Virtual Thermoelastic Parameters approach for the structural verification procedure. High-performance silicon carbides (SiC) are taken as a reference to describe the method. Measured emissivity and thermal conductivity data are presented and discussed, together with the experimental estimation of material limitations for both temperature and stress fields. The aforementioned results can be promptly used for the design process of high-power ISOL targets.Blast furnace ferronickel **** (BFFS) is generated in the production of ferronickel alloys and is used as cement replacement in concrete or mortar. The effectivity in reducing cement consumption and improving performance are limited. By referring to the paste replacement method, this work used BFFS to replace an equal volume of the white Portland cement paste to obtain greater performance enhancement. BFFS was used with five levels of replacement (0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%) and four water-to-cement ratios (0.40, 0.45, 0.50, 0.55) were designed. Fluidity, mechanical strength, hydration products, and pore structure of every mixture were measured. The results showed that the workability of the mortars decreased due to the reduced volume of water, but the 28-day compressive strength of the mortars increased, and the cement content of the mortars was also reduced by 33 wt %. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns revealed that there existed a carboaluminate phase, and the presence of the ettringite was stabilized, indicating that the accumulating amount of the hydration products of the mortar increased. Furthermore, the BFFS could consume the portlandite and free water to form a higher amount of chemically bound water due to its pozzolanic activity. A high degree of hydration and a large volume of the hydration products refined the porosity of the hardened mortars, which explained the enhancement of the strength of the mortars. Compared to the cement replacement method, the paste replacement method was more effective in preparing eco-friendly mortar or concrete by recycling BFFS for reducing the cement content of the mortar while improving its strength.The glycidyl-POSS (Polyhedral Oligomeric Silsesquioxanes, Polysilsesquioxane, POSS) (Gly-POSS) and trisilanolisooctyl-POSS (HO-POSS) were applied as functional additives influencing on the viscoelastic properties of the dynamic vulcanized PLA/ENR (poly(lactic acid)/epoxidized natural rubber) blends. The plasticizing effect of HO-POSS on PLA/ENR melt, leading to the decrease of complex viscosity at 160 °C, was observed. After the incorporation of Gly-POSS into PLA/ENR blends the complex viscosity increased confirming that the epoxy groups of Gly-POSS were able to react with the functional groups of ENR and the groups present at the end of PLA chains. The incorporation of Gly-POSS into 4060 PLA/ENR blend provided significant enhancement of the storage shear modulus G' at 30 °C. Furthermore, the glass transition temperatures Tg of ENR phase for PLA/ENR/Gly-POSS blends were shifted to higher values of temperature as compared with blends modified by HO-POSS. Strong reduction of the elongation at break Eb for 4060 PLA/ENR/Gly-POSS blend indicated that Gly-POSS particles acted as multifunctional cross-links reducing elasticity of the material. Therefore, this study highlights the educational purpose of improving emotional management and social skills as well as decreasing antisocial and criminal behaviour among secondary education students through an educational training programme. Accordingly, to verify the effectiveness of the project, a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test/post-test structure and a control group was adopted. To achieve this, a total of 141 Spanish secondary school students participated in this study and were randomly assigned to one of two experimental conditions. The first (experimental) group (n = 55) participated in the training programme; correspondingly, the second group (control) (n = 57) followed the usual mentoring activities planned for the entire educational centre. A series of novel Fe/Co layered double hydroxides modified with glycine (named as FeCo-LDH@G) were prepared and served as high-performance adsorbents for As (V). With a Fe/Co mole ratio of 11, the Fe0·02Co0.02-LDH@G adsorbents achieved significant improvements on the adsorption selectivity and capacity for As (V). The As (V) adsorption by Fe0·02Co0.02-LDH@G follows Langmuir isotherm model and pseudo-second-order kinetics model. The maximum adsorption capacity is 820 mg g-1 and the equilibrium reaches in 120 min. Under the assistance of electrochemical devices, the Fe0·02Co0.02-LDH@G adsorbent was regenerated and the adsorption capacity for As (V) was dropped only about 13.41% in 5 cycles. These excellent performances make Fe0·02Co0.02-LDH@G as promising As (V) adsorbents for commercial wastewater treatments.Microbial fuel cell (MFC) architectural modification is increasingly becoming an important area of research due to the need to improve energy recovery. This study presents a low-cost modification method of the anode that does not require pre-treatment-step involving hazardous chemicals to improve performance. The modification step involves deposition of granular activated carbon (GAC) which is highly conductive and provides a high specific surface area inside a carbon cloth that acts as an anode and as a supporting material. The GAC particle size of 0.6-1.1 mm resulted in an increase in air-cathode ****performance due to an increase in available surface area of 879.5 m2 g-1 for attachment of cells based on Brunauer, Emmett, and Teller (BET) results, and an increase in the appropriate surface for attachment of cells which was rough based on the scanning electron microscope (SEM) results. On the other hand, although GAC with size of particles of 0.45-0.6 mm had the highest available surface area for attachment of cells, it lacked the appropriate surface for attachment of cells and reduced ****performance. This means that particle size optimization of GAC is essential since there is a limit to which the particle diameter can be reduced. The utilization of the GAC with the optimized particle size produced an output voltage of 507.5 mV and maximum power output of 1287.7 mW m-3 at current output of 2537.5 mA m-3. This study also showed that there is an economic benefit in modifying carbon cloth using GAC with optimized particle size.Copper-based nanoparticles (Cu-based NPs) have been gaining wide attention in agricultural applications due to their diverse characteristics and multipurpose properties. This includes their use in agrochemicals for efficient delivery and controlled release of pesticides and fertilizers. However, their excessive usage over a long duration of time could pose potential risks to the soil system. Further, they are known for their well-established anti-microbial effects which could be detrimental to soil health, particularly to the activities of soil microbes, which play a significant role in the functioning of terrestrial and agroecosystems. Thus, there is a great need to clearly understand these uniquely nanospecific properties of Cu-based NPs along with mode-of-action, effect on soil processes, soil organisms, and plants. This paper examines the current literature on Cu-based NPs to provide a systematic understanding of their potential impacts on the soil-plant environment. It explores their rising application and usage in agriculture along with their possible interaction with various soil components and the potential factors influencing it. It further investigates their uptake, translocation, and distribution in plants in various exposure media. It summarises that the dissolution, biotransformation, and bioavailability of Cu-based NPs in the soil are governed by several factors, like soil type, soil pH, and organic matter content. Further, environmental factors, time duration, and presence of other pollutants could also influence their biotransformation and soil toxicity. Finally, this review seeks to provide future perspectives that need attention for investigation purposes.Natural disasters such as floods and hurricanes impact urbanized estuarine environments. Some impacts pose potential environmental and public health risks because of legacy or emerging chemical contamination. However, characterizing the baseline spatial and temporal distribution of environmental chemical contamination before disasters remains a challenge. To address this gap, we propose using systematic evidence mapping (SEM) in order to comprehensively integrate available data from diverse sources. We demonstrate this approach is useful for tracking and clarifying legacy chemical contamination reporting in an urban estuary system. We conducted a systematic search of peer-reviewed articles, government monitoring data, and grey literature. Inclusion/exclusion criteria are used as defined by a Condition, Context, Population (CoCoPop) statement for literature from 1990 to 2019. Most of the peer-reviewed articles reported dioxins/furans or mercury within the Houston Ship Channel (HSC); there was limited reporting of other organics and metals. In contrast, monitoring data from two agencies included 89-280 individual chemicals on a near-annual basis. Regionally, peer-reviewed articles tended to record metals in Lower Galveston Bay (GB) but organics in the HSC, while the agency databases spanned a wider spatial range in GB/HSC. This SEM has shown that chemical data from peer-reviewed and grey literature articles are sparse and inconsistent. Even with inclusion of government monitoring data, full spatial and temporal distributions of baseline levels of legacy chemicals are difficult to determine. There is thus a need to expand the chemical, spatial, and temporal coverage of sampling and environmental data reporting in GB/HSC.Passive biological treatment using constructed wetlands has been employed as a cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative for mine effluents treatment in Canada. The current work aimed to assess the performance of a laboratory-scale constructed wetland for the removal of selenium, nutrients and heavy metals. A series of novel Fe/Co layered double hydroxides modified with glycine (named as FeCo-LDH@G) were prepared and served as high-performance adsorbents for As (V). With a Fe/Co mole ratio of 11, the Fe0·02Co0.02-LDH@G adsorbents achieved significant improvements on the adsorption selectivity and capacity for As (V). The As (V) adsorption by Fe0·02Co0.02-LDH@G follows Langmuir isotherm model and pseudo-second-order kinetics model. The maximum adsorption capacity is 820 mg g-1 and the equilibrium reaches in 120 min. Under the assistance of electrochemical devices, the Fe0·02Co0.02-LDH@G adsorbent was regenerated and the adsorption capacity for As (V) was dropped only about 13.41% in 5 cycles. This study presents a low-cost modification method of the anode that does not require pre-treatment-step involving hazardous chemicals to improve performance. The modification step involves deposition of granular activated carbon (GAC) which is highly conductive and provides a high specific surface area inside a carbon cloth that acts as an anode and as a supporting material. The GAC particle size of 0.6-1.1 mm resulted in an increase in air-cathode MFC performance due to an increase in available surface area of 879.5 m2 g-1 for attachment of cells based on Brunauer, Emmett, and Teller (BET) results, and an increase in the appropriate surface for attachment of cells which was rough based on the scanning electron microscope (SEM) results. On the other hand, although GAC with size of particles of 0.45-0.6 mm had the highest available surface area for attachment of cells, it lacked the appropriate surface for attachment of cells and reduced MFC performance. This means that particle size optimization of GAC is essential since there is a limit to which the particle diameter can be reduced. The utilization of the GAC with the optimized particle size produced an output voltage of 507.5 mV and maximum power output of 1287.7 mW m-3 at current output of 2537.5 mA m-3. Further, they are known for their well-established anti-microbial effects which could be detrimental to soil health, particularly to the activities of soil microbes, which play a significant role in the functioning of terrestrial and agroecosystems. Thus, there is a great need to clearly understand these uniquely nanospecific properties of Cu-based NPs along with mode-of-action, effect on soil processes, soil organisms, and plants. This paper examines the current literature on Cu-based NPs to provide a systematic understanding of their potential impacts on the soil-plant environment. It explores their rising application and usage in agriculture along with their possible interaction with various soil components and the potential factors influencing it. It further investigates their uptake, translocation, and distribution in plants in various exposure media. It summarises that the dissolution, biotransformation, and bioavailability of Cu-based NPs in the soil are governed by several factors, like soil type, soil pH, and organic matter content. Further, environmental factors, time duration, and presence of other pollutants could also influence their biotransformation and soil toxicity. Some impacts pose potential environmental and public health risks because of legacy or emerging chemical contamination. However, characterizing the baseline spatial and temporal distribution of environmental chemical contamination before disasters remains a challenge. To address this gap, we propose using systematic evidence mapping (SEM) in order to comprehensively integrate available data from diverse sources. We demonstrate this approach is useful for tracking and clarifying legacy chemical contamination reporting in an urban estuary system. We conducted a systematic search of peer-reviewed articles, government monitoring data, and grey literature. Inclusion/exclusion criteria are used as defined by a Condition, Context, Population (CoCoPop) statement for literature from 1990 to 2019. Most of the peer-reviewed articles reported dioxins/furans or mercury within the Houston Ship Channel (HSC); there was limited reporting of other organics and metals. In contrast, monitoring data from two agencies included 89-280 individual chemicals on a near-annual basis. Regionally, peer-reviewed articles tended to record metals in Lower Galveston Bay (GB) but organics in the HSC, while the agency databases spanned a wider spatial range in GB/HSC. This SEM has shown that chemical data from peer-reviewed and grey literature articles are sparse and inconsistent. Even with inclusion of government monitoring data, full spatial and temporal distributions of baseline levels of legacy chemicals are difficult to determine. There is thus a need to expand the chemical, spatial, and temporal coverage of sampling and environmental data reporting in GB/HSC.Passive biological treatment using constructed wetlands has been employed as a cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative for mine effluents treatment in Canada. As part of clinical wound assessment in bovine surgery, discrepancies in skin temperature are evaluated by placing the **** of the hand on the area to be examined. Generally, an increased skin temperature at the wound site for a prolonged period is considered as an indicator of impaired wound healing. The aim of this study was to verify the reliability of palpation under bovine practice conditions using laparotomy as an example. Fourteen cows (German Holstein) with a left displacement of the abomasum (LDA) without other severe concurrent diseases were examined preoperatively and once daily for ten days after surgery. The skin temperature of the wound site in the right flank was assessed by palpation, followed by thermographic evaluation using an infrared camera after a 45-min acclimatisation period, under standardised conditions in a closed examination room daily for 10 days.
All the incisions healed without clinical detectable perturbances. The ambient temperature range during the study period was 7.8 - al hyperthermia at the wound site.
The infrared thermography provides a more reliable assessment of temperature changes at the wound site in comparison to manual palpation. The ambient temperature markedly affects the extent of local hyperthermia at the wound site.

Total RNA samples were treated with 5' pyrophosphohydrolase (RppH), which allowed ligation of an RNA adaptor to the 5' end of intact SINE RNAs. Similarly, another adaptor was ligated to the 3' end, followed by reverse transcription, PCR amplification, size selection, and single-end deep sequencing. The analysis of two biological replicates of RNAs from mouse spermatogonia showed high reproducibility of SINE expression data both at family and locus levels.

SMAD1, a central mediator in TGF-β signaling, is involved in a broad range of biological activities including cell growth, apoptosis, development and immune response, and is implicated in diverse type of malignancies. Whether SMAD1 plays an important role in multiple myeloma (MM) pathogenesis and can serve as a therapeutic target are largely unknown.
Myeloma cell lines and primary MM samples were used. Cell culture, cytotoxicity and apoptosis assay, siRNA transfection, Western blot, RT-PCR, Soft-agar colony formation, and migration assay, Chromatin immunoprecipitation (Chip), animal xenograft model studies and statistical analysis were applied in this study.
We demonstrate that SMAD1 is highly expressed in myeloma cells of MM patients with advanced stages or relapsed disease, and is associated with significantly shorter progression-free and overall survivals. Mechanistically, we show that SMAD1 is required for TGFβ-mediated proliferation in MM via an ID1/p21/p27 pathway. TGF-β also enhanced TNFα-Inducedtrategy to treat drug resistance MM through targeted inhibition of SMAD1.
Patients with osteoporosis have a high risk of implant loosening due to poor osteointegration, possibly leading to implant failure, implant revision, and refracture. RNA interference therapy is an emerging epigenetic treatment, and we found that miR-20a could enhance osteogenesis. Moreover, small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) derived from bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (hBM-****) were utilized as nanoscale carriers for the protection and transportation of miR-20a (sEV-20a). In this study, we intended to determine whether sEVs overexpressing miR-20a could exert a superior effect on osteoporotic bone defects and the underlying mechanism.

Thus, the present study was performed to investigate the role of task difficulty during practice on learning a dynamic balance task in healthy young adults.
During acquisition, both practice groups ("Easy" or "Difficult" task condition) significantly improved their performance (i.e., time in balance). Further, the statistical analysis of post-practice performance revealed a significant main effect of test (i.e., better performance under easy compared to difficult test conditions, irrespective of group) but not of group. Additionally, the Group × Test interaction did not reach the level of significance, indicating that learning a dynamic balance task did not depend on the practiced task condition.

Acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) is a special type of acute myeloid leukemia Thrombosis is at increased risk complication in patients with this disease. However, the risk factors of thrombosis related to Chinese APL patients are not fully understood.
In this study, clinical and laboratory data of 44 consecutively Chinese APL patients were collected and analyzed.
One arterial and 6 venous thrombosis occurred in 44 patients, including 22 males and 22 females, with a median age of 44 years (range from 18 to 74 years). The ratio of male and female gender, age, white blood cell count, hemoglobin, platelets, disease risk stratification, CD2, Khorana score, differentiation syndrome (DS) and gene mutation related to prognosis of APL, including DNMT3A, TET2, IDH1, IDH2, NRAS and ASXL1 in the two groups with and without thrombosis were not statistically significant. The detection rate of PAI-1 genotype 4G4G was 71.4% (5/7) in 7 patients with thrombosis, while the detection rate of PAI-1 genotype 4G4G in 37 patients without thrombosis was 8.1% (3/37). The differences between the two groups in WT-1 (P = 0.01), PAI-1 4G4G (P = 0.0009), bcr3 (P = 0.027), CD15 (P = 0.005), and FLT3-ITD mutation (P = 0.0008) were statistically significant. Using multivariate analysis, the risk factors of venous thrombosis in APL were CD15 (P = 0.043), PAI-1 4G4G (P = 0.009), WT-1 (P = 0.043) and FLT3/ITD (P = 0.013), respectively.

Previous studies have demonstrated that nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a significant risk factor for diabetes mellitus (DM). However, these studies did not completely determine the relationship between NAFLD and DM due to unbalanced confounding factors. The propensity score (PS) is the conditional probability of having a particular exposure, given a set of baseline measured covariates. Propensity score matching (PSM) analysis could minimise the effects of potential confounders. Thus, this study aimed to use PSM analysis to explore the association between NAFLD and DM in a large Japanese cohort.
This retrospective PSM cohort study was performed on 14,280 Japanese participants without DM at baseline in Murakami Memorial Hospital between 2004 and 2015. The independent variable was NAFLD at baseline, and the outcome was the incidence of DM during follow-up. One-to-one PSM revealed 1671 participants with and without NAFLD. A doubly robust estimation method was applied to verify the correlation betDM. The use of machine learning (ML) techniques in healthcare encompasses an emerging concept that envisages vast contributions to the tackling of rare diseases. In this scenario, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) involves complexities that are yet not demystified. In ALS, the biomedical signals present themselves as potential biomarkers that, when used in tandem with smart algorithms, can be useful to applications within the context of the disease.
This Systematic Literature Review (SLR) consists of searching for and investigating primary studies that use ML techniques and biomedical signals related to ALS. Following the definition and execution of the SLR protocol, 18 articles met the inclusion, exclusion, and quality assessment criteria, and answered the SLR research questions.
Based on the results, we identified three classes of ML applications combined with biomedical signals in the context of ALS diagnosis (72.22%), communication (22.22%), and survival prediction (5.56%).
Distinct algorithmic models and biomedical signals have been reported and present promising approaches, regardless of their classes. In summary, this SLR provides an overview of the primary studies analyzed as well as directions for the construction and evolution of technology-based research within the scope of ALS.

However, facilitators and barriers influence the use and experience of HCD for occupational therapists (OTs) and midwives. In this scenario, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) involves complexities that are yet not demystified. In ALS, the biomedical signals present themselves as potential biomarkers that, when used in tandem with smart algorithms, can be useful to applications within the context of the disease. This Systematic Literature Review (SLR) consists of searching for and investigating primary studies that use ML techniques and biomedical signals related to ALS. Following the definition and execution of the SLR protocol, 18 articles met the inclusion, exclusion, and quality assessment criteria, and answered the SLR research questions. Based on the results, we identified three classes of ML applications combined with biomedical signals in the context of ALS diagnosis (72.22%), communication (22.22%), and survival prediction (5.56%). Using a large-scale study of university-based sexual violence in Canada, the current study aims to (1) examine the risk of sexual violence against Indigenous students compared to non-Indigenous students, and (2) to document sexual violence experiences of Indigenous students. Undergraduate students from six universities (N = 5,627) completed online questionnaires regarding their experience and consequences of university-based sexual violence (e.g., forms of sexual violence experiences, gender, and status of the perpetrator, context of the violence, PTSD, disclosure). Findings indicated that compared with their non-Indigenous peers, Indigenous students experienced significantly higher levels of sexual harassment. However, no difference was found for unwanted sexual behaviors, nor for sexual violence contexts. Among Indigenous students, those having experienced sexual violence after age 18 (outside university) were more likely to report university-based sexual violence. Overall, findings highlight that Indigenous students, as well as non-Indigenous students, experience university-based sexual violence. We established organoid cultures from 5 PDXs with diverse phenotypes of prostate cancer, including castrate-sensitive and castrate-resistant disease, as well as adenocarcinoma and neuroendocrine pathology. We robotically embedded organoids in Matrigel in 384-well plates and monitored growth via brightfield microscopy before treatment with poly ADP-ribose polymerase inhibitors or a compound library. Independent readouts including metabolic activity and live-cell imaging-based features provided robust measures of organoid growth and complementary ways of assessing drug efficacy. Single organoid analyses enabled in-depth assessment of morphological differences between patients and within organoid populations and revealed that larger organoids had more striking changes in morphology and composition after drug treatment. By increasing the scale and scope of organoid experiments, this automated assay complements other patient-derived models and will expedite preclinical testing of new treatments for prostate cancer.

Annular motion was assessed during AF and in sinus rhythm with the use of 3-dimensional analysis software, and the relationship with MR severity was explored.
During AF and immediately after sinus rhythm restoration, the mitral annulus behaved relatively adynamically, with an overall change in annular area of 10.3% (95%CI 8.7%-11.8%) and 12.2% (95%tolic narrowing that contributes to AFMR. Endomyocardial biopsy is the current gold standard for detection of acute cardiac transplant rejection. Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) is uniquely capable of myocardial tissue characterization and may be useful as a noninvasive alternative for the diagnosis of graft rejection.
PubMed and Web of Science were searched for relevant publications reporting on the use of CMR myocardial tissue characterization for detection of acute cardiac transplant rejection with endomyocardial biopsy as the reference standard. Pooled sensitivity, specificity, and hierarchical modeling-based summary receiver-operating characteristic curves were calculated.
Of 478 papers, 10 studies comprising 564 patients were included. The sensitivity and specificity for the detection of acute cardiac transplant rejection were 84.6 (95%CI 65.6-94.0) and 70.1 (95%CI 54.2-82.2) for T1tic use but lower diagnostic accuracy compared with T2, which was related primarily to lower specificity. LGE showed poor diagnostic performance for detection of rejection.

Of 748 patients enrolled, 401 had LGE and 347 did not. The median age was 50years (interquartile range 38 years-61 years), LV ejection fraction 66% (interquartile range 62%-70%), and 287 (38%) were women. Scan indications included chest pain (40%), palpitation (33%) and breathlessness (13%). No patient experienced SCDalthough the latter was associated with greater cardiovascular hospitalization for suspected myocarditis and symptomatic ventricular tachycardia.

Through a series of experiments, it is shown that the timescale of motion can be extended by increasing the thickness of the active layer, decreasing the porosity of the active layer, or increasing the filling ratio of the hydrophobic restrictive and blocking layers. Similarly, a lower thickness of the active layer and lower filling ratio of all layers result in a faster motion. As a proof of concept, we demonstrate several prototypes that exhibit sequential motion, including an aperture with overlapping elements where each completes its movement sequentially to avoid collision, and a self-locking mechanism where defined areas of the structure are choreographed to achieve a multi-step self-shaping and locking function. The presented method extends the programmability and the functional capabilities of hygromorphic 4D-printing, allowing for novel applications across fields such as robotics, smart actuators, and adaptive architecture.
Currently, there is no effective long-term treatment for psoriasis by conventional medicine. Thus, several alternative treatments are currently used to attenuate the severity, including herbal and dietary supplements.
The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of a mixture of traditional Jordanian herbal supplements on psoriasis treatment.
A retrospective case study was conducted at The Herbal Dynasty Medical Center, Jordan. Three psoriasis patients were selected to participate (2 males; 1 female); patients obtained their diagnosis by a physician. Participants were prescribed a specific dose of 2 capsules daily of the herbal supplement, which consisted of dandelion, olive leaf, nettle leaf, and turmeric, along with 2 capsules of milk thistle half an hour before breakfast. Participants were instructed to follow therapy protocol for 5 consecutive months. The psoriasis area and severity index score was calculated pretreatment and posttreatment.
The 3 psoriasis cases were diagnosed as mild, moderate, and severe at the study onset. The severity index scores were 3.2, 14, and 16.2, respectively, and improved posttreatment to 0, 0.8, and 2, respectively.

The research team performed a literature review, searching relevant literature databases, including bioRxiv, medRxiv, Google Scholar, Embase, PsychINFO, and PubMed. The search terms were arthritis, diarthodial joints, use of medicinal plants in gouty arthritis, and synovial joints.
The study took place in the main library of the University of Sargodha in Sargodha, Pakistan.
The research team identified 135 studies, and eventually 92 unique academic publications were included in the analysis. Arthritis can develop and progress in any musculoskeletal joint, and most commonly occurs in knees, hips, shoumacologically. Tai Chi and Qigong are mind-body practices deriving from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) which are used clinically as therapeutic interventions. The objective of this study was to identify patterns and research trends in reviews about Tai Chi and/or Qigong through bibliometric analysis.
Based on a search of Scopus, authors, collaborations and source journal impact were analyzed, along with citation counts and alternative metrics.
In all, 205 documents were retrieved, 72% of which concerned the practice of Tai Chi. According to the type of practices, the average citation per year was 2.2 for Qigong studies, 3.2 for Tai Chi and 5.6 for Tai Chi and Qigong reviewed together. The most productive authors were Lee, Ernst and Pittle who shared a high number of papers. The strongest institutional connection was between universities in Korea and Exeter, UK. The source journals had good ranking positions both among journals belonging to the alternative medicine category and specialized clinical journals.
The level of collaboration among universities, the increasing number of meta-analysis studies, and the prestige of the journals in which articles were published attest that Tai Chi and Qigong practices are creating new opportunities in the traditional medicine.

We examined associations of atherogenic dyslipidemia detected on admission with outcome of COVID-19 during hospitalization.
We retrospectively analyzed clinical reports of 118 consecutive patients hospitalized for COVID-19 in Rome, Italy, between March and May 2020. Clinical characteristics, inflammation markers, and glucose and lipid metabolism parameters at admission were collected. Critical disease was defined as in-hospital death or need for endotracheal intubation. Associations were tested using logistic regression analysis.

MI admissions for adults aged 15-84 years were identified from electronic hospital data. We calculated age-standardised and age-specific rates, and examined trends using joinpoint.
From 1968 to 2016, there were 3.5 million admissions for MI in England (68% men). Rates increased in the early years of the study in both men and women, peaked in the mid-1980s (355 per 100 000 population in men; 127 in women) and declined by 38.8% in men and 37.4% in women from 1990 to 2011. From 2012, however, modest increases were observed in both sexes. Long-term trends in rates over the study period varied by age and sex, with those aged 70 years and older having the greatest and most sustained increases in the early years (1968-1985). During subsequent years, rates decreased in most age groups until 2010-2011. The exception was younger women (35-49 years) and men (15-34 years) who experienced significant increases from the mid-1990s to 2007 (range +2.1%/year to 4.7%/year). From 2012 onwards, rates increased in all age groups except the oldest, with the most marked increases in men aged 15-34 years (7.2%/year) and women aged 40-49 (6.9%-7.3%/year) .
Despite substantial declines in hospital admission rates for MI in England since 1990, the burden of annual admissions remains high. Continued surveillance of trends and coronary disease preventive strategies are warranted.

The following themes emerge from the analysis. First, a range of work-related factors are significant sources of variation in COVID-19 infection as indicated by self-reports of medical diagnosis or symptoms. This includes evidence about workplace types, consultation about safety and union membership. The partial effect of transport-related employment in regression models makes the chance of infection over three times more likely while in univariate analyses, transport-related work increases the risk of infection by over 40 times in the USA. Second, there is evidence that some home-related factors are significant predictors of infection, most notably the sharing of accommodation or a kitchen.
