The mechanism relies on patient health data remotely. A doctor or care practitioner may carry out the monitoring process. For starters, where there is high fire or trouble breathing, this can conveniently be used for a detected urgent or irregular situation. The process will then give a warning to the health care provider or practitioner, sending urgent SMS with time and condition to act without any delays to save the patient's life.Oil and gas development has led to environmental hazards and community concerns, particularly in relation to water supply issues. Filing complaints with state agencies enables citizens to register concerns and seek investigations. We evaluated associations between county-level socio-economic and demographic factors, oil and gas drilling, and three outcomes in Pennsylvania between 2004-2016 number of oil and gas complaints filed, and both the number and proportion of state investigations of water supply complaints yielding a confirmed water supply impairment (i.e., "positive determination"). We used hierarchical Bayesian Poisson and binomial regression analyses. From 2004-2016, 9,404 oil and gas-related complaints were filed, of which 4,099 were water supply complaints. Of those, 3,906 received investigations, and 215 yielded positive determinations. We observed a 47% increase in complaints filed per $10,000 increase in annual median household income (MHI) (Rate Ratio [RR] 1.47, 95% credible interval [CI] 1.09-1.96) and an 18% increase per 1% increase in educational attainment (RR 1.18, 95% CI 1.11-1.26). While the number of complaints filed did not vary by race/ethnicity, the odds of a complaint yielding a positive determination were 0.81 times lower in counties with a higher proportion of marginalized populations (Odds Ratio [OR] 0.81 per 1% increase in percent Black, Asian, and Native American populations combined, 95% CI 0.64-0.99). The odds of positive determinations were also lower in areas with higher income (OR per $10,000 increase in MHI 0.35, 95% CI 0.09-0.96).   • Melanoma is considered as the most frequent primary malignancy occurring in skin. Accumulating studies have suggested that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play critical parts in multiple cancers. In this study, we explored the molecular mechanism of ZBED3 antisense RNA 1 (ZBED3-AS1) in melanoma. We observed that ZBED3-AS1 expression was remarkably up-regulated in melanoma tissues, and high ZBED3-AS1 level was linked to unsatisfactory survival of melanoma patients. Then, we discovered that ZBED3-AS1 was overexpressed in melanoma cells compared with human epidermal melanocytes. In addition, loss-of-function assays verified that ZBED3-AS1 knockdown restrained cell proliferation, migration, epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), and stemness in melanoma. In addition, signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3), which also showed tumour-facilitating functions in melanoma, was confirmed as a transcriptional activator of ZBED3-AS1.   • Seminiferous tubules physically connect to the rete testis through short segments called the transition region (TR). During fetal development, this specialized junction is considered the initial site where testis cords begin to form and to grow in length well beyond birth and into adulthood and form convoluted tubular cores. Mitotic activity of the Sertoli cell, the somatic cell of the epithelium, ceases before puberty, but modified Sertoli cells in the TR remain immature and capable of proliferation. This review presents what is known about this specialized region of the testis, with an emphasis on the morphological, molecular and physiological features, which support the hypothesis that this short region of epithelial transition serves as a specialized niche for undifferentiated Sertoli cells and spermatogonial stem cells. Also, the region is populated by an elevated number of immune cells, suggesting an important activity in monitoring and responding to any leakage of autoantigens, as sperm enter the rete testis. The proteomic analysis confirmed the expression of important endothelial markers and pathways.     This IRB-approved, HIPAA-compliant retrospective study wasperformed at a single tertiary institution. Consecutive patients undergoing lung fiducial placement for purposes of guiding SBRT (CyberKnife®, Accuray, Inc.) between September 2005 to January 2013 were included in the study. Fiducial seeds were placed percutaneously with CT guidance or transbronchially with bronchoscopic guidance. We compared procedure-related complications (pneumothorax, chest tube placement), technical success (defined as implantation enabling adequate treatment planning with CT simulation) and migration rate. The need for repeat procedures and their mode was noted. Statistical analysis was performed using Fisher exact and Chi square probability tests.

Mitotic activity of the Sertoli cell, the somatic cell of the epithelium, ceases before puberty, but modified Sertoli cells in the TR remain immature and capable of proliferation. This review presents what is known about this specialized region of the testis, with an emphasis on the morphological, molecular and physiological features, which support the hypothesis that this short region of epithelial transition serves as a specialized niche for undifferentiated Sertoli cells and spermatogonial stem cells. Also, the region is populated by an elevated number of immune cells, suggesting an important activity in monitoring and responding to any leakage of autoantigens, as sperm enter the rete testis. Several structure/function characteristics of the transition region are discussed and compared across species.The liver is a complex organ composed of several cell types organized hierarchically. Among these, liver sinusoidal endothelial cells (LSECs) are specialized vascular cells known to interact with hepatocytes and hepatic stellate cells (HSCs), and to be involved in the regulation of important hepatic processes in healthy and pathological situations. Protocols for the differentiation of LSECs from human induced pluripotent stem cells, hiPSCs, have been proposed and in-depth analysis by transcriptomic profiling of those cells has been performed. In the present work, an extended analysis of those cells in terms of proteome and metabolome has been implemented. The proteomic analysis confirmed the expression of important endothelial markers and pathways. Among them, the expression of patterns typical of LSECs such as PECAM1, VWF, LYVE1, STAB1 (endothelial markers), CDH13, CDH5, CLDN5, ICAM1, MCAM-CD146, ICAM2, ESAM (endothelial cytoskeleton), NOSTRIN, NOS3 (Nitric Oxide endothelial ROS), ESM1, ENG, MMRN2, THBS1, ANof these cells for future in vitro applications. The calculated results confirm that an activated barrier is present in the CO-NO bond dissociation process of (NH2)2C=C(NO2)(ONO). Furthermore, it is proposed that a radical-radical adduct is involved in the exit dissociation path with subsequent dissociation to separate (NH2)2C=C(NO2)O and NO radicals. The activation and reaction enthalpies at 298.15 K for the nitrite isomer dissociation are predicted to be 43.6 and 5.4 kJ mol-1 at the B2PLYP/6-31G(d,p) level, respectively. Therefore, we identified these two types of ionomers based on the positional correlation between the ionomer and carbon particles. The cross-correlation function for the catalyst layer was obtained by small-angle neutron scattering measurements with varying contrast. From fitting with a model for a fractal aggregate of polydisperse core-shell spheres, we determined the adsorbed-ionomer thickness on the carbon particle to be 51 Å and the deposited-ionomer amount for the total ionomer to be 50%. Our technique for ionomer differentiation can be used to optimally design PEFC catalyst layers.A novel halogen- and phosphorus-free intrinsic flame-retardant foam is fabricated from curable phenol-terminated polyphenylene ether resin with a high molecular weight using phenol, formaldehyde, and diphenyl ether as starting materials.   • Supply chain management played a central role during the COVID-19 crisis, as the outbreak of the pandemic disrupted the majority of all global supply chains. This paper tests whether companies that use green supply chain management (GSCM) practices benefited from a buffer effect in the context of COVID-19. Our empirical analysis, conducted on a sample of U.S. companies, shows that GSCM companies experienced less negative abnormal stock returns during the crisis. This result contributes to the literature on financial impact of GSCM, finding that GSCM is perceived as an effective risk management tool and can serve as an effective drug against COVID-19 crisis. Our paper also contributes to the business debate on the role of green supply chains in the post-COVID19 world.The Pantanal faced an unprecedented drought event in 2020. The hydrological year ended in July, 2020 had an annual average rainfall 26 % lower than the average from 1982 to 2020. Consequently, catastrophic wildfires burned out of control. Active fires during this year have also increased, and were 123 % higher than the 2002-2020 Pantanal's average. Approximately 95 % of these active fires occurred in natural land covers with 28 % of them occurring in areas classified as wetlands that likely dried out due to the drought. Therefore, the development of a special policy is needed to minimize the impact of this crisis on the biodiversity, conservation, and traditional people of the Pantanal.This work involves the application of process safety concepts to other fields, specifically bow tie analysis and inherently safer design (ISD) to COVID-19. An analysis framework was designed for stakeholders to develop COVID-19 risk management plans for specific scenarios and receptor groups. This tool is based on the incorporation of the hierarchy of controls (HOC) within bow tie analysis to identify priority barriers. The analysis framework incorporates inherently safer design (ISD) principles allowing stakeholders to assess the adequacy of controls along with the consideration of degradation factors and controls. A checklist has also been developed to help stakeholders identify opportunities to apply the ISD principles of minimization, substitution, moderation, and simplification. This work also considers barrier effectiveness with respect to human and organization factors (HOF) in degradation factors and controls. This paper includes a collection of bow tie elements to develop bow tie diagrams for specific receptor groups and scenarios in Nova Scotia, Canada. The pandemic stage (At-Peak or Post-Peak) and its influence on different scenarios or settings is also considered in this work. The data reveal a high and growing incidence of international collaboration on the pandemic.The goal of this piece is to survey the developing and rapidly growing literature on the economic consequences of COVID-19 and the governmental responses, and to synthetize the insights emerging from a very large number of studies. This survey (i) provides an overview of the data sets and the techniques employed to measure social distancing and COVID-19 cases and deaths; (ii) reviews the literature on the determinants of compliance with and the effectiveness of social distancing; (iii) mentions the macroeconomic and financial impacts including the modelling of plausible mechanisms; (iv) summarizes the literature on the socioeconomic consequences of COVID-19, focusing on those aspects related to labor, health, gender, discrimination, and the environment; and (v) summarizes the literature on public policy responses.The escalating transmission intensity of COVID-19 pandemic is straining the healthcare systems worldwide. Due to the unavailability of effective pharmaceutical treatment and vaccines, monitoring social distancing is the only viable tool to strive against asymptomatic transmission. Pertaining to the need of monitoring the social distancing at populated areas, a novel bird eye view computer vision-based framework implementing deep learning and utilizing surveillance video is proposed. This proposed method employs YOLO v3 object detection model and uses key point regressor to detect the key feature points. Additionally, as the massive crowd is detected, the bounding boxes on objects are received, and red boxes are also visible if social distancing is violated. When empirically tested over real-time data, proposed method is established to be efficacious than the existing approaches in terms of inference time and frame rate.
    Supply chain management played a central role during the COVID-19 crisis, as the outbreak of the pandemic disrupted the majority of all global supply chains. This paper tests whether companies that use green supply chain management (GSCM) practices benefited from a buffer effect in the context of COVID-19. Our empirical analysis, conducted on a sample of U.S. companies, shows that GSCM companies experienced less negative abnormal stock returns during the crisis. This result contributes to the literature on financial impact of GSCM, finding that GSCM is perceived as an effective risk management tool and can serve as an effective drug against COVID-19 crisis. Our paper also contributes to the business debate on the role of green supply chains in the post-COVID19 world.The Pantanal faced an unprecedented drought event in 2020. The hydrological year ended in July, 2020 had an annual average rainfall 26 % lower than the average from 1982 to 2020. Consequently, catastrophic wildfires burned out of control. Active fires during this year have also increased, and were 123 % higher than the 2002-2020 Pantanal's average. Approximately 95 % of these active fires occurred in natural land covers with 28 % of them occurring in areas classified as wetlands that likely dried out due to the drought. Therefore, the development of a special policy is needed to minimize the impact of this crisis on the biodiversity, conservation, and traditional people of the Pantanal.This work involves the application of process safety concepts to other fields, specifically bow tie analysis and inherently safer design (ISD) to COVID-19. An analysis framework was designed for stakeholders to develop COVID-19 risk management plans for specific scenarios and receptor groups. This tool is based on the incorporation of the hierarchy of controls (HOC) within bow tie analysis to identify priority barriers. The analysis framework incorporates inherently safer design (ISD) principles allowing stakeholders to assess the adequacy of controls along with the consideration of degradation factors and controls. A checklist has also been developed to help stakeholders identify opportunities to apply the ISD principles of minimization, substitution, moderation, and simplification. This work also considers barrier effectiveness with respect to human and organization factors (HOF) in degradation factors and controls. This paper includes a collection of bow tie elements to develop bow tie diagrams for specific receptor groups and scenarios in Nova Scotia, Canada. The pandemic stage (At-Peak or Post-Peak) and its influence on different scenarios or settings is also considered in this work. Bow tie diagrams were developed for numerous receptor groups; bow tie diagrams modelling a generally healthy individual, a paramedic and a hair salon patron contracting COVID-19 are presented in this work.The global crisis sparked collaboration between publishers and service providers to successfully address an immediate problem and demonstrated the possibility for future partnerships.Encouraging experts to join a reviewer pool and quickly review the preprint and journal submissions, we were able to publish COVID-19 research more quickly.The initiative confirmed little author uptake of inter-publisher journal transfer option.The collaboration showed wide consensus on open science practices which will ensure faster and more reliable research findings.This paper considers the pattens of international collaboration by analysing publications on COVID-19 published in the first 6 months of the pandemic.   • Background Sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors reduce hospitalizations for heart failure and cardiovascular death, although the underlying mechanisms have not been resolved. The SIMPLE trial (The Effects of Empagliflozin on Myocardial Flow Reserve in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus) investigated the effects of empagliflozin on myocardial flow reserve (MFR) reflecting microvascular perfusion, in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at high cardiovascular disease risk. Methods and Results We randomized 90 patients to either empagliflozin 25 mg once daily or placebo for 13 weeks, as add-on to standard therapy. The primary outcome was change in MFR at week 13, quantified by Rubidium-82 positron emission tomography/computed tomography. The secondary key outcomes were changes in resting rate-pressure product adjusted MFR, changes to myocardial flow during rest and stress, and reversible cardiac ischemia. Mean baseline MFR was 2.21 (95% CI, 2.08-2.35). There was no change from baseline in MFR at week 13 in either the empagliflozin 0.01 (95% CI, -0.18 to 0.21) or placebo groups 0.06 (95% CI, -0.15 to 0.27), with no treatment effect -0.05 (95% CI, -0.33 to 0.23). No effects on the secondary outcome parameters by Rubidium-82 positron emission tomography/computed tomography was observed. Treatment with empagliflozin reduced hemoglobin A1c by 0.76% (95% CI, 1.0-0.5; P less then 0.001) and increased hematocrit by 1.69% (95% CI, 0.7-2.6; P less then 0.001). Conclusions Empagliflozin did not improve MFR among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and high cardiovascular disease risk. The present study does not support that short-term improvement in MFR explains the reduction in cardiovascular events observed in the outcome trials. The aim of our study was to clarify whether the intrapericardial portions of the great arteries in human patients with TGA might be indeed shorter than in normal hearts. Methods and Results Thirty-four newborns with simple TGA and 35 newborns with normal hearts were analyzed by using images of the outflow tract in their echocardiograms and the following defined lengths of the great arteries were measured aortic length 1, (AoL-1) and aortic length 2 (AoL-2) = distance between left and right aortic valve level and origin of the brach the animal model-based hypothesis that TGA may result from a growth deficit at the arterial pole of the embryonic heart.Background Despite its established effectiveness, adherence to cardiac rehabilitation remains suboptimal. The purpose of our study is to examine whether mobile technology improves adherence to cardiac rehabilitation and other outcomes. Methods and Results We identified all enrollees of the cardiac rehabilitation program at Boston Medical Center from 2016 to 2019 (n=830). Some enrollees used a mobile technology application that provided a customized list of educational content in a progressive manner, used the patient's smartphone accelerometer to provide daily step counts, and served as a 2-way messaging system between the patient and program staff. Adherence to cardiac rehabilitation was defined as the number of attended sessions and completion of the program. Enrollees had a mean age of 59 years; 32% were women, and 42% were Black. Using 31 propensity matching for age, sex, race/ethnicity, education, smoking status, transportation time, diagnosis, and baseline depression survey score, we evaluated change in exercise capacity, weight, functional capacity, and nutrition scores. Those in the mobile technology group (n=114) attended a higher number of prescribed sessions (mean 28 versus 22; relative risk, 1.17; 95% CI, 1.04-1.32; P=0.009), were 1.8 times more likely to complete the cardiac rehabilitation program (P=0.01), and had a slightly greater weight loss (pounds) following rehabilitation (-1.71; 95% CI, -0.30 to -3.11; P=0.02) as compared with those in the standard group (n=213); other outcomes were similar between the groups. As the original and largest producer of cultivated blueberry, the United States maintains the most diverse blueberry germplasm resources comprised of many species of different ploidy levels. We previously constructed an interspecific mapping population of diploid blueberry by crossing the parent F1#10 (Vaccinium darrowii Fla4B × diploid V. corymbosum W85-20) with the parent W85-23 (diploid V. corymbosum). Employing the Capture-Seq technology developed by RAPiD Genomics, with an emphasis on probes designed in predicted gene regions, 117 F1 progeny, the two parents, and two grandparents of this population were sequenced, yielding 131.7 Gbp clean sequenced reads. A total of 160,535 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), referenced to 4,522 blueberry genome sequence scaffolds, were identified and subjected to a parent-dependent sliding window approach to further genotype the population. Hence, knowing the growth and production pattern of this important legume under various soil moisture conditions gains paramount significance. Toward that end, 24 elite mungbean genotypes were grown with and without water stress for 25 days in a controlled environment. Top view and side view (two) images of all genotypes captured by a high-resolution camera installed in the high-throughput phenomics were analyzed to extract the pertinent parameters associated with plant features. We tested eight different multivariate models employing machine learning algorithms to predict fresh biomass from different features extracted from the images of diverse genotypes in the presence and absence of soil moisture stress. Based on the mean absolute error (MAE), root mean square error (RMSE), and R squared (R 2) values, which are used to assess the precision of a model, the partial least square (PLS) method among the eight models was selected for the prediction of biomass. The predicted biomass was used to compute the plant growth rates and water-use indices, which were found to be highly promising surrogate traits as they could differentiate the response of genotypes to soil moisture stress more effectively. To the best of our knowledge, this is perhaps the first report stating the use of a phenomics method as a promising tool for assessing growth rates and also the productive use of water in mungbean crop.Pararetroviruses, taxon Caulimoviridae, are typical of retroelements with reverse transcriptase and share a common origin with retroviruses and LTR retrotransposons, presumably dating **** 1.6 billion years and illustrating the transition from an RNA to a DNA world. As the original and largest producer of cultivated blueberry, the United States maintains the most diverse blueberry germplasm resources comprised of many species of different ploidy levels. We previously constructed an interspecific mapping population of diploid blueberry by crossing the parent F1#10 (Vaccinium darrowii Fla4B × diploid V. corymbosum W85-20) with the parent W85-23 (diploid V. corymbosum). Employing the Capture-Seq technology developed by RAPiD Genomics, with an emphasis on probes designed in predicted gene regions, 117 F1 progeny, the two parents, and two grandparents of this population were sequenced, yielding 131.7 Gbp clean sequenced reads. Wilczek) is an inexpensive and environmentally friendly source of protein. Being a short-duration crop, mungbean fits well into different cropping systems dominated by staple food crops such as rice and wheat. Hence, knowing the growth and production pattern of this important legume under various soil moisture conditions gains paramount significance. Toward that end, 24 elite mungbean genotypes were grown with and without water stress for 25 days in a controlled environment. Top view and side view (two) images of all genotypes captured by a high-resolution camera installed in the high-throughput phenomics were analyzed to extract the pertinent parameters associated with plant features. We tested eight different multivariate models employing machine learning algorithms to predict fresh biomass from different features extracted from the images of diverse genotypes in the presence and absence of soil moisture stress. Based on the mean absolute error (MAE), root mean square error (RMSE), and R squared (R 2) values, which are used to assess the precision of a model, the partial least square (PLS) method among the eight models was selected for the prediction of biomass. The predicted biomass was used to compute the plant growth rates and water-use indices, which were found to be highly promising surrogate traits as they could differentiate the response of genotypes to soil moisture stress more effectively.   • Irritable bowel syndrome is one of the most common functional bowel disorders, and has a substantial impact on patients' daily lives, as well as a big economic impact on society. It is characterised by abdominal pain, bloating and abdominal distention and altered bowel movements, with a predominance of diarrhoea, constipation, or alternation of these signs, which cannot be explained by a structural or biochemical abnormality. Its aetiopathogenesis and pathophysiological mechanism are unknown. The disease affects 5%-10% of healthy individuals at any given time and, in most people, has a relapsing-remitting course. This article reviews some of the main and most current evidence on its epidemiology, risk factors, pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, diagnostic approach, and therapeutic options, both dietary, pharmacological and psychotherapeutic.
    Diabetic microvascular disease (MVD) has been associated with increased bone fragility. The objective was to analyse the relationship between MVD and trabecular microstructure -assessed by the trabecular bone score (TBS)- in type 2 diabetic (T2D) patients. A second aim was to know the relationship between vitamin D and MVD.

    Cross-sectional study, which included men >50 years and postmenopausal women participating in a population-based cohort, diagnosed with T2D. The presence of nephropathy, neuropathy and/or retinopathy was classified as MVD+. Clinical and laboratory variables, TBS, 25(OH)D and BMD by DXA, were evaluated. After adjusting for confounders, including HbA1c and duration of T2D, the TBS value in MVD+ was 1.252 (95% CI 1.230-1.274) vs. 1.281 (95% CI 1.267-1.295) in MVD- (p=.034).     Since 1994, the Nephrology and Hypertension Department at theCleveland Clinic has prepared and used bicarbonate-based solution forcontinuous venovenous hemodialysis (CVVHD) using a standard volumetric hemodialysis machine rather than purchasing from a commercial vendor. This report describes the process of producing Cleveland Clinic UltraPure Solution (CCUPS), quality and safety monitoring, economic costs, and clinical outcomes.

    Feasibility, safety , and cost.

    Of 6,426 patients treated between 2011 and 2019 with continuous kidney replacement therapy, 59% were men, 71% were White, 40% had diabetes mellitus, and 74% presented with acute kidney injury. 98% of patients were treated with CVVHD using CCUPS, while the remaining 2% were treated with either continuous venovenous hemofiltration or continuous venovenous hemodiafiltration using commercial solution. The prescribed and delivered effluent doses were 24.8 (IQR) versus 20.7 mL/kg/h (IQR), respectively. CCUPS was as effective in restoring electrolyte and serum bicarbonate levels and reducing phosphate,creatinine, and serum urea nitrogen levels as compared with packaged commercial solution over a 3-day period following initiation of dialysis, with a comparable effluent dose. Among those with acute kidney injury, mortality was similar to that predicted with the 60-day acute kidney injury predicted mortality score (r= 0.997; CI 0.989-0.999). At our institution, the cost of production for 1 L of CCUPS is $0.67, which is considerably less than the cost of commercially purchased fluid.

    Acute lung injury (ALI)/acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is a lethal disease with limited therapeutic options and an unacceptably high mortality rate. Understanding the complex pathophysiological processes involved in the development of ALI/ARDS is critical for developing novel therapeutic strategies. Smoke inhalation (SI) injury is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality in patients with burn-associated ALI/ARDS; however, to our knowledge few reliable, reproducible models are available for pure SI animal model to investigate therapeutic options for ALI/ARDS without the confounding variables introduced by cutaneous burn or other pathology.

A total of five focus groups were conducted. Reflexive thematic analysis was used to analyse the transcripts.

    Participants who received VIPAR were positive regarding the programme and described the benefits of the service. Additionally, participants discussed the trade-off between convenience and relatedness. Staff described barriers to the service and solutions that could be employed to mitigate these, including greater training, organisation and understanding of risk.

A 50-year-old morbidly obese woman with early-stage EC was initially treated with levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system (52 mg) . She had to reduce her body mass index (BMI) to become eligible for definite EC treatment. Using conservative methods, she was unable to lose weight effectively. She then underwent bariatric surgery that reduced her BMI from 71.3 to 54.3 kg/m2 She maintained her weight and was eligible for total hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oopherectomy. Her procedure was successful and had no complications. She has 6-monthly follow-ups, and the most recent review showed no evidence of recurrence.Postinfectious generalised myoclonus has been reported after many viral and bacterial infections in the past. Herein, we present a case of a 79-year-old man, who was recovering from a recent COVID-19 infection, presented with isolated generalised myoclonus. The patient was treated with levetiracetam, a short course (10 days) of dexamethasone, and required extensive rehabilitation. Outpatient follow-up at 2 months suggested complete resolution of symptoms and levetiracetam was subsequently discontinued. This case highlights that generalised myoclonus can occur as a delayed complication of COVID-19 infection.
