Critically ill patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) who are unresponsive to maximum optimal ventilator settings may be in a prone position for at least 16 hours per day to improve oxygenation. This extended duration of prone positioning puts patients at risk of developing orbital compartment syndrome if direct pressure to the orbit and the globe occurs and concomitant protection of the eyes is not undertaken.

Furthermore, the emerging role of artificial intelligence in ophthalmic imaging was reviewed. This article summarizes the presentations, discussion, and future directions.
Breathlessness is a frequent and debilitating symptom in patients with advanced cancer. Often, in the context of breathlessness, aggressive cancer treatment is not beneficial, feasible, or aligned with goals of care. Targeted symptom-focused interventions may be helpful in this scenario.

PubMed, Embase, CINAHL, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials were searched from inception through May 2020 for published randomized clinical trials (RCTs), nonrandomized controlled trials, and observational studies of the advantages and/or harms of nonpharmacological interventions on alleviating breathlessness in adults with advanced cancer. Only English-language studies were screened for eligibility, titles, abstracts, and full text. Risk of bias and strength of evidence (SOE) were independently assessed. The key outcomes reported in studies were breathled rehabilitation, behavioral and psychoeducational, and integrative medicine) (low SOE) lasting for a few weeks to months. Five of the 29 RCTs (17%) reported adverse events, although adverse events and study dropouts were uncommon.

Findings of this review include the safety and association with improved breathlessness of several nonpharmacological interventions for adults with advanced cancer. Baseline examinations occurred from 1993 to 1995 in the EHLS and 2005 to 2008 in BOSS, with two 5-year follow-up examinations in each cohort. This longitudinal cohort study assessed 3651 participants without HI at baseline who had follow-up data.

The primary outcome was incident HI measured by pure-tone audiometry, defined as PTA greater than 25-dB hearing level (dB HL) in either ear. Associations of 5-year incidence were estimated by relative risks (RRs) and 10-year cumulative incidence wity be lower than current estimates suggest.
In guinea pigs, choroidal thickness (ChT) and choroidal blood perfusion (ChBP) simultaneously decrease in experimental myopia, and both increase during recovery. However, the causal relationship between ChBP and myopia requires further investigation. In this study, we examined the changes of ChBP with three different antimyopia treatments. We also actively increased ChBP to examine the direct effect on myopia development in guinea pigs.

Experiment 1 Guinea pigs wore occluders on the right eye for two weeks to induce form-deprivation myopia (FDM). Simultaneously they received daily antimyopia treatments peribulbar injections of atropine or apomorphine or exposure to intense light. Experiment 2 The vasodilator prazosin was injected daily into the form-deprivation eyes to increase ChBP during the two-week induction of FDM. Other FDM animals received appropriate control treatments. Changes in refraction, axial length, ChBP, ChT, and hypoxia-labeled pimonidazole adducts in the sclera were measured.
