The objective of this research was to evaluate the oxidative and histopathological effects of dexmedetomidine and ketamine on the pulmonary contusion model resulting from blunt chest trauma.
Rats were randomly assigned to 5 equal groups (n=6) control group (Group C), pulmonary contusion group (Group PC), PC-dexmedetomidine group (Group PC-D), PC-ketamine group (Group PC-K), and PC-dexmedetomidine + ketamine (Group PC-D+K). The PC was performed by dropping a weight of 500 g (2.45 Joules) from a height of 50 cm. In Group PC-D, after chest trauma, dexmedetomidine (100 µg/kg) was administered intraperitoneally. In Group PC-K, after chest trauma, ketamine (100 mg/kg) was administered intraperitoneally. In Group PC-D+K, dexmedetomidine and ketamine were administered together. At the end of the 6th hour, rats were sacrificed. Malondialdehyde (MDA) level, superoxide dismutase (***) enzyme activities, neutrophil infiltration/aggregation, and thickness of the alveolar wall were evaluated.
MDA levels were significcluded that the administration of dexmedetomidine and ketamine after contusion is beneficial against pulmonary injury in rats.

Thus, this study aimed to investigate the role of triptolide on the proliferation and differentiation of HaCaT cells which are treated with IL22 to mimic abnormal proliferation/differentiation in keratinocyte of psoriasis.
HaCaT cells were transfected with miR-181b-5p antagomir for 24 h, and then exposed to 10 μM Triptolide for 24 h, following by 100 ng/mL of IL22 for 24 h. In addition, the proliferation and cell cycle distribution in HaCaT cells were assessed by immunofluorescence or flow cytometry assays, respectively.
Triptolide obviously upregulated the level of miR-181b-5p in HaCaT cells. In addition, triptolide significantly inhibited IL22-induced proliferation of HaCaT cells via inducing cell cycle arrest. Moreover, IL22 markedly inhibited the differentiation of HaCaT cells, and this phenomenon was reversed by triptolide treatment. The aim of this research was to evaluate quality of life (QOL) domains through two standardized questionnaires (SF-36 and NEI-VFQ39) in patients treated by upper eyelid gold weight loading compared to healthy individuals (the "healthy" group) as well as patients with other ophthalmologic conditions (the "sick" group).
This prospective comparative clinical study of 416 surveys was conducted in 2012-2018. The study group includes 59 people 40 women, 19 men aged 55.5 ± 17.4 treated with gold weights for corneal complications due to unresolved facial nerve palsy. General QOL was assessed using the SF-36 questionnaire. Eye-related QOL was assessed through the NEI-VFQ39 questionnaire. The results were compared with those obtained in 2 control groups the "healthy" and the "sick," 53 indivlved in this study. Treatment of lagophthalmos by gold weights significantly improved their QOL, with the greatest impact on mental aspects of health.
