The selenylated IP named IP-Se-06 (3-((2-methoxyphenyl)selanyl)-7-methyl-2-phenylimidazol[1,2-a]pyridine) showed high cytotoxicity against HepG2 cells (half-maximal inhibitory concentration [IC50 ] = 0.03 µM) and selectivity for this tumor cell line. At nontoxic concentration, IP-Se-06 decreased the protein levels of Bcl-xL and increased the levels of p53, leading to inhibition of cell proliferation and apoptosis. This compound decreased the level of extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 protein and changed the levels of proteins involved in the drive of the cell cycle, tumor growth, and survival (cyclin B1, cyclin-dependent kinase 2). In addition, IP-Se-06 decreased the number of cells in the S phase. In addition, IP-Se-06 led to increased generation of reactive oxygen species, changed antioxidant defenses, and caused DNA fragmentation. Finally, IP-Se-06 significantly inhibited the growth of Ehrlich ascites tumors in ****, increased survival time, and inhibited angiogenesis. EHEs most commonly occur in the lung, liver, bone, and internal organs. EHE has rarely been reported to occur in the post-radiotherapeutic setting, the breast site or in association with breast cancer. The differential diagnosis for radiation-associated vascular lesions of the breast is classically limited to atypical vascular lesion and angiosarcoma and does not include EHE. We present the case of a woman with a history of breast cancer and post-surgical radiotherapy who went on to develop an EHE of the chest wall skin within 3 years of the completion of radiotherapy. Microscopically, the lesion was infiltrative and composed of anastomosing nests of epithelioid-to-spindled cells with eosinophilic and vacuolated cytoplasm. By immunohistochemistry, the cells were positive for ERG, D2-40, and CD31. The diagnosis was confirmed by identification of a characteristic WWTR1-CAMTA1 fusion gene using RNA sequencing. This case expands our understanding of radiation-associated tumors.Glass polyalkenoate cements (GPCs) are under investigation as potential bone adhesives, as they may provide an alternative to polymethylmethacrylate-based cements. GPCs containing strontium (Sr) and zinc (Zn) in place of aluminium (Al) are of particular interest because these ions are known stimulators of osteoprogenitor differentiation. GPCs have been manufactured from a novel bioactive glass (SiO2 0.48, ZnO0.36, CaO0.12, SrO0.04) in the past, but, while such materials have been assessed for their influence on viability, their influence on osteogenic function has not been investigated until now. For this study, two GPCs were formulated from the same glass precursor evaluated in previous studies. These GPCs were named GPC A and GPC B, and they differed in glass particle size, polyacrylic acid molecular weight, and their powder liquid ratios. The effect of these two GPCs on osteogenic differentiation of primary rat osteoblasts were evaluated using three culture systems culture with dissolution extracts, indirect contact with transwell-inserts and direct contact. Additionally, the degradation characteristics of GPCs were assessed, including their interfacial pH and surrounding pH. The experimental outcomes revealed that collagen deposition, alkaline phosphatase expression, and mineralization were largely dependent on GPC composition as well as the mode of interaction with cells. These markers were found to be significantly elevated in response to GPC A's dissolution products. However, osteogenic differentiation was inhibited when osteoblasts were cultured indirectly and directly with GPCs, with, overall, GPC B significantly outperforming GPC A. These results suggest that GPC degradation products effect osteogenic differentiation in a dose-dependent manner.Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis comprise a spectrum of severe mucocutaneous hypersensitivity reactions. A paucity of data limits current understanding of the etiology, treatment options, and prognosis of this entity in the infantile population compared to that in the adult and pediatric literature. We describe the case of an 8-week-old male with toxic epidermal necrolysis treated successfully with intravenous immunoglobulin and amniotic membrane transplant. This patient is the youngest surviving infant with toxic epidermal necrolysis to be reported.
To evaluate the efficacy of visual discrimination tests used for color research in dentistry.

Volunteers (N = 120) were divided in three groups of observers (n = 40; gender-balanced) S-dental students; D-dentists; and L-laypersons. Two general color discrimination tests (I-Ishihara and FM-Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue) and the test of color discrimination competency in dentistry using the VITA Classical shade guide (VC) were performed and data were recorded according to manufacturers' or literature recommendations. Data were statistically analyzed using Mann-Whitney U test for the gender influence and Kruskal-Wallis test for the observer influence, and Bonferroni as post-hoc test (α = 0.05). Pearson (α = 0.05) was used to examine the correlation among visual tests (I, FM, and VC).

Observers and visual tests were not influenced by gender (P > .05). Different observer groups had no influence on I test (P > .05). S and D showed similar level of color perception using FM and VC (P > .05), but these observers showed greater color perception than L (P ≤ .
