    Cardiac disease is a major cause of maternal mortality. Data regarding pregnancy outcomes in women with a systemic right ventricle (sRV) are scarce. We studied pregnancy outcomes in women with an sRV after the atrial switch procedure for transposition of the great arteries (TGA) or congenitally corrected TGA (CCTGA).

    The ESC EORP Registry of Pregnancy and Cardiac Disease is an international prospective registry of pregnant women with cardiac disease. Pregnancy outcomes (maternal/fetal) in all women with an sRV are described. The primary end point was a major adverse cardiac event (****) defined as maternal death, supraventricular or ventricular arrhythmias requiring treatment, heart failure, aortic dissection, endocarditis, ischaemic coronary event and other thromboembolic events.

    Altogether, 162 women with an sRV (TGA n=121, CCTGA n=41, mean age 28.8±4.6 years) were included. No maternal mortality occurred. This in turn could reverse all the progress achieved over the years in reducing maternal and child mortality. In this study, an attempt has been made to assess the indirect effect of the pandemic on maternal and child health services in public health facilities.

    Data pertaining to maternal and child health services being provided under specific Government programmes, were collected from public health facilities of District Sant Kabir Nagar in Uttar Pradesh, India. Comparative analysis of the data from the pandemic phase with data from the year 2019 was done to determine the impact on services.

    Reduced coverage across all maternal and child health interventions was observed in the study.     Few studies exist on physicians' opinions, attitudes, familiarity and practice behaviour regarding clinical practice guidelines in sub-Saharan Africa.

    To determine the opinions, familiarity, and practice behaviour regarding clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) and factors associated with their use among internists and family physicians/GP in Nigeria.

    A semi-structured questionnaire regarding guidelines of five common medical conditions hypertension, diabetes mellitus, tuberculosis, asthma and hepatitis B encountered in everyday medical practice were self-administered by 183 doctors across the country.

    Over 90% of respondents believed that guidelines were evidence-based, improved management outcomes, and quality of care, nevertheless, 57.4% were against using them in litigations against doctors. The majority (>70%) of the respondents were familiar with the guidelines except that of hepatitis B. Overall, guidelines were used regularly by 45.9%, used in part by 23.5% and 30.6% never used it. Approximatsibility and promotes factors that encourage their implementation in medical practice.

Hitherto, no single process can explain the many effects observed in MeHg-induced neurodevelopmental toxicity.   • Chemopreventive approaches with food-derived phytochemicals are progressively rising as a significant aspect of tumor management and control. Herein, we have showcased the major phytoconstituents belonging to the group of flavanoid, as anti-cancer agents used for the treatment and prevention of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Sorafenib is the sole drug used for the treatment of advanced HCC, but its clinical application is limited because of its severe adverse effects and drug resistance. Diet-based chemoprevention seems to be the way forward for this disease of malignant nature. As HCC is derived from a chronic inflammatory milieu, the regular incorporation of bioactive phytochemicals in the diet will confer protection and prevent progression to hepatocarcinogenesis. Many preclinical studies proved that the health benefits of flavonoids confer cytotoxic potential against various types of cancers including hepatocellular carcinoma. As flavonoids with excellent safety profile are abundantly present in common vapproach. Due to the emergence of multidrug resistance and drug-related toxicities, most of the patient can not adhere to the therapy regimen. Flavonoids are known to be a potential anticancer agent with an excellent safety profile. These are found to be effective preclinically against hepatocellular carcinoma through modulation of numerous pathways in hepatocarcinogenesis. But, the bioavailability issue, lack of well designed-validated clinical evidence, the possibility of food-drug interaction etc limit its clinical utility. The research inputs mainly to overcome pharmacokinetic issues along with suitable validation of efficacy and toxicity will be a critical point for establishing flavonoids as an effective, safe, affordable therapeutics.
    In the past years, many different neural network-based conversion techniques for synthesizing computed tomographys (sCTs) from MR images have been published. While the model's performance can be checked during the training against the test set, test datasets can never represent the whole population. Conversion errors can still occur for special cases, for example, for unusual anatomical situations. Therefore, the performance of sCT conversion needs to be verified on a patient specific level, especially in the absence of a planning CT (pCT). In this study, the capability of cone-beam CTs (CBCTs) for the validation of sCTs generated by a neural network was investigated.

    41 patients with tumors in the head region were selected. 20 of them were used for model training and 10 for validation. Different implementations of CycleGAN (with/without identity and feature loss) were used to generate sCTs. The pixel (MAE, RMSE, PSNR) and geometric error (DICE, Sensitivity, Specificity) values were reported to identify tions. A properly applied CBCT conversion method can serve as a tool for quality assurance procedures in an MR only radiotherapy workflow for head patients. In order to enhance the hypoglycemic effect, the combined glucose-lowering complex (DEH) consisting of hawthorn polyphenols, D-chiro-inositol (DCI), and epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) was prepared, where three ingredients exerted the synergistic hypoglycemic effect to enhance glucose consumption and glycogen levels and inhibit hepatic gluconeogenesis in IR-HepG2 cells. Herein, we have showcased the major phytoconstituents belonging to the group of flavanoid, as anti-cancer agents used for the treatment and prevention of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Sorafenib is the sole drug used for the treatment of advanced HCC, but its clinical application is limited because of its severe adverse effects and drug resistance. Diet-based chemoprevention seems to be the way forward for this disease of malignant nature. As HCC is derived from a chronic inflammatory milieu, the regular incorporation of bioactive phytochemicals in the diet will confer protection and prevent progression to hepatocarcinogenesis. Many preclinical studies proved that the health benefits of flavonoids confer cytotoxic potential against various types of cancers including hepatocellular carcinoma. As flavonoids with excellent safety profile are abundantly present in common vapproach. Due to the emergence of multidrug resistance and drug-related toxicities, most of the patient can not adhere to the therapy regimen. These guidelines cover the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of chronic hand eczema and highlight the role that primary care and occupational health physicians can play in the early management of this disease. An interdisciplinary project regarding the effect of ascorbic acid on bread dough's physico-chemical properties was proposed to bachelor students in chemistry and food sciences. Such an approach was proposed to develop both scientific and soft skills, in order to prepare students for their future working environment. Together, students deepened their knowledge regarding food science and chemistry. The EU regulatory authority, the European Medicines Agency (EMA), has therefore proposed to implement a new tailored environmental risk assessment scheme, published in a new draft guideline 2018. Threshold effect levels to three fixed representative species of green algae and cyanobacteria will be required. This article reviews and compares the contamination of waters with antibiotics in Switzerland and Germany and also presents an overview of published effect data on eukaryotic algae and prokaryotic cyanobacteria in order to discuss the representativeness of the selected species. Currently, this study design is under evaluation in an international ring test, in which the Swiss Bee Research centre participates.
